I really like the Mellow Mushroom, so I was excited to share dinner with friends. This experience was not as good as other locations. Our server was less than attentive and each of us had something wrong, incorrect or never served at our table. Great customer service experience... I worked for postmates tonight had a pickup an order from Mellow Mushroom. Postmates screwed up the customers order and there was an additional charge. I had no way to contact Postmates to explain their mistake and they needed to pay the difference. Customer was very hangry and disappointed. Not a fan. Every single server looked sloppy like they just rolled out of bed threw on something to wear and left the house. If you think the best part of pizza is the crust you'll love this place. Best calzones I've had in the area. Their soup of the day is normally chicken tortilla and it's really good. When it comes to pizza, MM is on the top of my yummy list. This location has been a bunch of different restaurants and it's nice to see something that will actually do well. I met a friend for dinner on a Monday and surprisingly they were pretty busy. We shared the house specialty, which is basically an everything pizza-meats and veggies. Their crust is always pillowy and covered in sprinkled cheese. Their veggies and meats are thick cut, so there is no skimping there. I ONLY GOT TAKE OUT. But, from what I can see it is much like the one I've been to 100x in Brandon. The restaurant itself looked very clean and you could see into the kitchen/staff areas. The big tree outside is really pretty if you have to wait for take out or to be seated. The take out door is on the side. It doesn't even look like an entrance, just a small sign on the door. You walk in to the worlds smallest room, which was crammed with 5 people total waiting. The girl taking out order needed a bit more training. She never really said how long or told us to pay right now or when it's ready. We just told her we wanted to pay right now so when we got it we could leave. It took her far too long to plug it in and enter everything before we paid. I was outside waiting and got to speak with one of the dishwasher/Sunday prep employees. He was super friendly, he said they get pretty slammed at night (1.5 hour wait to sit down). He suggested the chicken wings, which I will definitely try next time. The pizza was great per usual, better than the Brandon one. We get a Funky q. (No cheese at all, add pineapple). I'm lactose intolerant. Esperanza dressing is like ranch but no milk! Best thing ever. I really enjoyed our time at this Mellow Mushroom location. We typically went to the Citrus Park location over in Tampa until we moved back up north. We returned for vacation, in Clearwater, and while driving saw the cute mushroom dude on the billboard off the highway and got super excited. Upon entering, I think we were blown away by the sheer size of the restaurant. It just looks bigger than the other locations we've been to. I also agree with other posters that there is a sports bar feel to this venue that you don't really feel at the others in the Tampa Bay area. Not sure what I think of it- I'm into sports and so I truly don't mind. If you're about Flower Power, 60s vibe- then you may not be too thrilled here We sat at the bar. The bartenders were really nice and had awesome personalities to boot. You can sit there and really just talk about anything. They'll chime in as well with their thoughts- good speaking. We ordered a couple beers on tap, the hummus app, and the meatball trio. We really liked everything and nothing tasted any less tasty than I've come to expect from Mellow Mushroom. Overall, I thought the experience was a good one and plan to visit again the next time we're in town. read more

Our waitress Becca was super knowledgeable about all of there beer selection...she was able to recommend beers on cue and if she came back without what you asked for due to the keg kicking then she came back with a suitable sub. I have to say, I'm lucky when it comes to Mellow. I've never had any bad experiences when eating at this chain. I always love to see the exterior and overall decor that the company puts into this pizza place. Each location has a theme of its own, ranging from hippie to scifi. Once you open the menu things get difficult. There are tons of variety and awesome selections. I always go for the magic mushroomed soup; great flavor and VEGETARIAN!! I also go for extra mushrooms when it comes to my pizza. The shiitake mushroom pizza is my #1. The unhealthiest yet tastiest pizza I have ever had. Flavors are always on point and the ingredients that are paired are those that only people that are high can honestly come up with. So far this pizza chain is on my top pizza list. A super plus in my book is that they carry my brand of vodka in my favorite flavor - Stoli Peach. If management ever reads this...please keep carrying it!
