Veggie Calzone Traveled from WI to visit family, and they suggested their fav go to spot. I wasn't disappointed. Came in on a Sunday morning as soon as they opened and it started filling up quick! Had a great ambience in an old house. The food was delicious as for the drinks the waitress was wonderful.

Love the atmosphere here. Parking is in the back. We got a table quick enough and service was prompt. But you wait for the food. of course the food was excellent and you kind of forget how long it took. In fact, if it wasn't so close to closing we would have ordered one to go for a meal the next day but we didn't want to wait a long time. So yes, it's great food, great service. But you will be here awhile to get it. read more

I got the gluten free crust with artichoke hearts and tomatoes! Yummy stuff! It's always nice to have a gluten free pizza option.

I typically wouldn't give a pizza restaurant 5-stars, but hey it's in an old southern mansion. And we'll maintained. The pizza is good Mellow Mushroom pizza. The wife and I had pepperoni. Both appropriate amounts of cheese and pepperoni. There are several good pizza restaurants in Gainesville, for something a little different. It's worth giving this place a try. read more

Love Mellow Mushroom!! Best pizza and being in the old Rudolfs just brings back a lot of memories. Just been here 4 times or so since opened and happy every time. Big on the Shitake shroom pizza or create your own slice ( for lunch one slice is enough). Atmosphere is like the old Rudolfs just jazzed up with new art so not so low lit and classy but same chairs and tables- big rooms, comfy. They converted the back into a great bar that seems to be where the locals go but hitting here for lunch when in Gainesville. Their salads are great- Greek, is my fav with lots of olives, feta, good stuff. Servings are more than enough and service is great. Good value, sat quickly, always comfy, beer is cold, pizza is the best. Must come. The go to place for pizza in Gainesville!!! read more

We've been fans of this locations' MM since it first opened. One of my favorite dishes has been the Sausage Fest calzone. It's been a few months since we last dined here, but tonight's experience was more than just disappointing. My wife ordered the veggie calzone and both our meals were basically dough and ricotta cheese with very little meat in my Sausage Fest and my wife had the same experience with her's having few vegetables and much too much dough and cheese. The calzones were basically inedible and I think that we are finished with this location. Just one more manifestation of the lowered bar in quality for profit at the cost of declining standards. I did try to access the Mellow Mushroom survey listed on our receipt, but it was so user unfriendly and took me to some medical website that required me to open an account. Arrivederchi! read more

I was a server who worked there for almost three years, and during that time I witnessed one of the most unexplained events and stories I've ever encountered. .. My Story: One night when closing down the upstairs bar area, I went down to the kitchen to put up the remaining glassware and other dishes. Shortly after, my colleagues and I heard very loud footsteps, as if someone was running around upstairs. I remember the event clearly because of the extremely loud running sounds, which made me go back upstairs to search out the area - thinking that I had closed down the bar area without checking to see if all the customers had actually left. When arriving back upstairs, to my surprise, nobody was there... I even check the office and under some of the tables. I went back down stairs to check out with my manager, (who I wish not to reveal their name.) At this time, it was her and I in the restaurant, and she felt confident about telling me about her other ghost stories that happened in the building after talking about the mysterious event that had just occurred upstairs that night. Her Story: My manager explained her story clearly, which was about another event that had occurred prior, when it was only herself in the building and the front door to the restaurant opened on it's own - then the sound of footsteps entered into the restaurant. When hearing the door open, my manager yelled out that the restaurant was closed and wasn't taking anymore customers. Then she heard the front door close and lock on it's own. She thought someone was ignoring her, and left the manager's office to go to the front door, only to look around within the area, then eventually throughout the restaurant to realize that nobody was there... A few weeks later, one of my colleagues I worked with at that time had a friend who was a psychic. They invited their psychic friend to the restaurant to scout out the building, and their friend stated that the name Rudolph's was named after a famous Dr. Rudolph who lived in the building, which was his house at one time during history. They also stated that Dr. Rudolph, his lady medical assistant, and two small children died there back in the 1930's with a serious case of the measles outbreak... Today, the building has been renovated and remodeled into Mellow Mushroom. But remember to take these ghost stories with you the next time you dine at the Mellow Mushroom in Gainesville, Ga. My wife and I paid a visit to this establishment to meet up with some friends. The place was packed and we were seated outside on their enclosed patio with heaters. Very comfortable. We ordered the Holy Shiitake Pie, and we were not disappointed! Everyone finished their meal and we sat a while talking and enjoying the atmosphere. Ok ..... here's the deal ! Food is awesome - you can't miss with anything on the menu BUT reason for 4 stars - if you like eating at the bar .... beware the terrible bar stools - many are wobbly - many are in disrepair with the crossbar for your foot missing making the chair edge cut into your leg ! Good they now have smaller tables in bar alcoves and separate tables at the bar that helps divide people for Covid and overcomes difficulty eating w need to reach over the heavy bar edge molding so gold star for that - but I seriously doubt the manager has ever tried to eat using the stools - the restaurant has variety of chairs so obvious budget is tight but folks if customers not comfy - they don't stay and they don't want to return Just a head up read more

I have now lived on the Western side of America and have eaten at 12 different Mellow Mushrooms all over the country traveling to and from the West and I always try to eat at every MM I can. I have always been a Mellow Mushroom fan! I t has been my go-to pizza for a long time. Unfortunately, I have been pretty disappointed in their pizza lately, and since their is a new pizza kid on the block, I am ready for a change! The last few pizzas I have ordered, for which I have paid extra toppings , have barely had any toppings at all, even the original ones! When you have to hunt for the topping or can count the extra Mushroom pieces on one hand, I have a problem! Maybe they think that Togo orders, no one will complain, well I am complaining !! Pizza, Pizza, Pizza... This place has awesome pizza. What a unique place with a unique atmosphere to go along with it. It's in an older house that has a 70's hippy vibe. I have been to this location many times and have always had great service and the food is always good. My personal favorite is the Pretzel bites with beer cheese!!! Yes I said it "Beer Cheese"!! It's fantastic. Many pizza choices with lots of different specialties to go with it. They also have salads, hot sandwiches and a good size bar area. I highly recommend it to anyone. read more
