This has always been my go to spot when I'm craving a good pizza that's slightly healthy! . For the past few years I've been addicted to the veggie pizza & then I add some ground beef to it. It has always hit the spot, but I finally changed it up & tried the BBQ chicken pizza . It was so amazing & packed with flavor. It wasn't so over done with BBQ sauce, that you couldn't taste the chicken. We also enjoy their amazing Greek salad. They have one of the best restaurant salads out there. Just got back after wintering in Wesley Chapel Florida. Hungry for our favorite pizza, we headed out to Mellow Mushroom in Hiram. We ordered our standard go to pizza, the Shiitake Mushroom. Joe took our order at the bar. Joe was excellent!! But, the pizza was less than expected. We ordered it with no Aoli but, when it came, it had Aoli on it. It looked more like a cheese pizza with mushrooms than a mushroom pizza. It was greasy and the crust did not rise. Yuk. Definitely not worth $25. As we were with someone we just met and they had their pizza, we did not want to delay them eating by sending it back. As we were eating early (5 PM), we think they may have recycled a pizza crust from the lunch crowd but that's just our guess. In any case it was no where near as good as at our normal location. We have comparison photos but can't see a way to include them. Don't think we will go back. read more

I've eaten at Mellow Mushroom in Hiram about 10 times and have never had a bad experience. It's not a very big place so if you don't want to wait, you should go during off-peak times. There will be a long wait if you show up at 7 on a Saturday night. The strange thing about my experiences at the Mushroom, is I've never once ordered pizza. I am a bit of a pizza freak, and I like to tell anyone who will listen about how I grew up in both NJ and Chicago, so I really know my pizza. I'll say this, if the pizza crust is the same as the pretzels and calzones, then it is just fine! The garlic/parm pretzel appetizer is simply awesome. The calzones are terrific, and huge. In addition, I've watched my girlfriend enjoy some specialty pizzas and sandwiches. Their meatball parm is a great alternative to pizza or calzones as well. Mellow Mushroom has a very large craft beer list, as well as normal GA favorites like Sweetwater 420 on tap. I get a different beer every time I go, including some interesting seasonal brews. I've never had bad service, although at night on the weekends things slow down a bit. It can take a little longer than usual to get a drink order, and pizza always takes a while to cook so expect delays if you go during peak hours. It's worth it though, because the food and drinks are both great. Pro tip - after your meal, go to the pottery painting place next door and have a little artsy date night! Probably the absolute worst service I've ever received ANYWHERE. Walked into this establishment at 2:10 and was seated by our waiter. We immediately ordered our drinks as well as our ONE uncomplicated pizza. Our Drinks finally came at 2:32pm and by 2:53pm I went to the hostess counter to ask for my check for my drinks. I was over it, with a hungry child. Not one apology. Not one explanation. Nothing. The manager is the one who ask if I knew my servers name and still no apology from the manager or my server. However, I was asked if I wanted to put my pizza on my check 3 times because "it just came out". I will NEVER be back. I've had Mellow Mushroom like a hundred times over in Chatt. where I am from, so I was very skeptical about eating at another one. Had it not been for my cousin who wanted to go sit at a bar, I probably would not have gone, but I am glad I did. The layout of the place was cool, indoor or out, whichever you prefer. If you want to go to the bar like we did you don't even have to wait for a server, just go on in and pull up a chair. Everyone there was really down to earth, mellow if you will. My cousin and I ordered a couple of the specialty drinks, about $4 $5, nothing terrible. Always more expensive than if you bought it at the store, but hey, they have to make money. They were kind enough to turn up the volume of the game that we were watching. The food was hands down great; proof that no matter which mellow mushroom you go to it is still the bomb. I've had some good experiences here, but the other night it took 30 minutes to get our food. We noticed everyone around us who were seated long after us were eating already. Then the waitress informed us that my child's food was burned and would have to be recooked. When it finally came out the dough wasn't done and the chicken was raw as well as the vegetables. I felt we should have gotten free meals. The manager knocked sone off but not much. The waitress was apologetic but the manager never even gave us the time of day even after the waitress told him about our terrible experience. My dinner was a veggie and if I assembled all the vegetables it would have equated to one mushroom, two slices of tomato and two spinach leaves. Sad. read more

ok, i love Mellow Mushroom but some locations are way better than others. Sometimes the service is slow, the resturant can be loud and it can be a downright unplesant place to eat. This location suffers from none of those problems. the Mushroom in Hiram is always clean and the staff is always super friendly. During the summer the family and I end up on their patio atleast every other week or so. Service is usually prompt and the food is always awesome. This is one of the few mellow mushrooms that i've been to that serves oven baked chicken wings which rock but usually come up scalding hot so be warned. We don't usually eat inside since it does get a little loud and i have a 2 year old that likes to scream so we just get our grub to go. Standard mellow mushroom stuff, its always great and reheats pretty well. This has become our go to pizza in the Hiram area, the other places around just don't compare. read more

My husband and I love their Mighty Meaty pizza (minus the bacon). I love the salty pretzels with mustard too. Pricier than pizza delivery places, but the pizza just tastes better, so it is worth it. This is a great casual spot to eat with family or friends, They do have a small bar at the back of the restaurant with a lot of different beers to choose from - if you like beer. Great to call in and place an order for pick up on my way home from work too. They also have an outside eating area that is great during the summer months and although it is still used in the winter months and covered - it might be a little chilly for most. This is a very laid back place - one might say "mellow" :D - so don't expect high end service. If you are dining in rather than picking up, you may have to wait a few more minutes than you would like to get your food, because your server is talking to other servers before they bring your order to you (which you can clearly see waiting to be picked up). Always disappointing. This place can't seem to get it right. If it's not the food then it's the service. Our waiter couldn't remember his name much less to get a beer menu after 2 strikes of we don't have and were out of. Had to ask for menus. Dinners came out before some of the appetizers. Giving drinks to the wrong person and couldn't get the food to the right person. There were only 4 of us and the place was empty. A little less time on the magic mushrooms might help, but I doubt it. If you've eaten at Mellow before you know how good their pizza is. We come from Chicago for these pies. But this location consistently has sub-par service, slow timing, and poor quality control. The servers try but can't keep up with the pace of the location. While tonight's to-go order wasn't completely wrong (like it has been in the past) we had to wait 25 minutes after our scheduled pick-up time for 3 salads to be made, by which point our pizzas and pretzel bites were cold. We'll probably keep coming back just because it's the best pizza around, but our faith in this location's customer service is purposefully kept low. read more

My husband and I went for pizza last night. My caesar salad was wonderful. His white pizza was so greasy he said it was like eating a sponge. My mega veggie had all the veggies and tofu it was suppose to but it was missing the tomato sauce and cheese. The manager took 25% off of our bill but didn't bother to apologize in person or see how little we ate of our meal.
