I will say that we came here again about a week later. Someone informed the restaurant about our awful experience and they said they would make up for it. This time we were seated quickly and, once again, had good service. Our orders were taken in a timely fashion and our food came out relatively quickly. The food also came out correctly this time, which was great. We tried a new appetizer- the sampler platter, which was good. I'll say the dolmedes was not my style but my friends liked it. I decided to try the scallops and pasta- you got a good amount of scallops and they were tasty. I am glad that they were able to remedy our experience after such a terrible time the previous week. Our server was attentive and I rarely had to ask for a drink refill (when the previous time I was constantly asking for a refill).

I've lived about 20 minutes from the Olive Tree for 25 years and I'm embarrassed to say that this was my first time eating there. I met a few friends for lunch on a weekday. They started us off with a large plate of garlic bread (yum). I got the Pasta Trio and it was amazing! All of my friends enjoyed their meals as well. The restaurant is very charming with the exposed brick walls. The staff was very friendly and attentive! We will definitely be back.

Service was amazing very attentive and informative. I ordered scallop pasta it was very bland but the calamari was very satisfying.

My family and I visit Olive Tree just about every time we've traveled to Atlanta to see our family. They have a huge menu with reasonable prices, and their food is very good. The downtown Hiram location is more charming than the Lithia Springs location. They don't take reservations, but they can usually seat six of us in the back room without too long of a wait. I love that they offer lighter choices for carb-conscious diners. I've tried their grilled scallops over spinach, shrimp skewers with artichokes and broccoli, and salmon over spinach. All are good, but I lean towards the shrimp most of the time because the broccoli and artichokes are so good! All of their meals come with warm garlic rolls and a house salad (which you can upgrade for a small upcharge). My husband loves their spaghetti with meat sauce and meatballs (as good as mine!), but he also occasionally gets their manicotti. My family members have tried a variety of dishes, like the shrimp scampi, chicken parmesan, veal piccata, and fettuccini alfredo, and all have been good. Their cocktails are very reasonably priced (about $8 each), but I'm not a fan because they are just too sweet. Their house wines are decent, however. You really can't beat Olive Tree's winning combination of food, prices, and service! We'll definitely be back!

The Olive Tree is like a little taste of old Italy hidden in Old Town Hiram. The restaurant has a beautiful garden on the side which reminds you of the nooks of New Orleans. Upon entry its old world Italian and the hostesses were welcoming and kind. The restaurant was cozy and our server was very nice. They have this amazing bread that tastes similar to garlic knots in bread form. My husband and I both had the ziti and my daughter had the Alfredo. My husband and I got the house salad, we were disappointed not one olive or crouton, maybe we are spoiled. My daughter had the Caesar salad with lots of croutons that she didn't offer to share. I ordered my ziti with light sauce and extra cheese. I got extra cheese, ricotta amazingness and the same amount of sauce. Having reached my mid 40's tomato sauce is not my friend. So I was rather disappointed, my husband order the ziti regular and he said it was pretty good. I ate three bites and could not eat anymore. My Babygirl had the Alfredo and she said it tastes watered down and it was not very good. The sauce had no seasoning and even the added Parmesan cheese didn't help. I am not sure if we will be returning for ziti, maybe we will try something else.

A smidgen over three stars, but I'll be magnanimous and make it four. Hiram GA has a plethora of chain restaurants. The Olive Tree has the vibe of an independent restaurant, but it's part of a small and popular network. Having sampled several dishes over the years, T and I stick to the Greek side of the menu. Locals seem to prefer their Italian entrees, but me, well...... Greek it is! We typically order fried calamari to top off the salads which come with our meals. We always get a bottle of wine, this time the house chardonnay. (To their credit, Olive Tree stocks a number of bottles for less than $30.) The gyro plate, my usual choice, has a generous portion of nicely seasoned meat, enough for two meals. I substituted fries for what they call Greek potatoes (which I find blah.) T ordered the Greek combo plate. I thought the pastitsio and moussaka were all right but -- sorry -- not the best I've had. We came tonight because my elderly mom lives locally and had a hankering for their plaki, a flaky white fish. Unfortunately, the dish proved unpopular and is off the menu. So she went with grilled salmon. Now look at my photo. Compare it to the other entrees. At $20, the Olive Tree should be ashamed of themselves. Normally plated with a vegetable medley (which my mother didn't want) she asked for something else. Three sad wedges of potato. Surely they could've thrown in another vegetable: broccoli, zucchini ... something! The fish was under-seasoned, but indeed cooked medium as my mother requested. The Olive Tree employs a nice young staff. Gabi, our server, is no exception: friendly, on-the-ball and an asset to her employer. In summation, we had a nice evening out. Other than the fish -- which really should be re-thought -- our meals were fine, and we were happy.

Now, let's grant that their A/C broke this afternoon, which likely couldn't be helped, leaving the crowded place toasty & the scrambling staff sweaty. Bless them. They were big on apologies though still didn't always follow through in a super timely way seeming to get distracted at times. Also, didn't see the nice, chatty owner from before so also leads me to think new owners. Possibly the new owner or manager did helpfully bring us big cups of ice to replenish our teas without being asked, so we appreciated that. Now to the food. Wife got a gyro (+ fries for $3 more). Food took 24 minutes to arrive. The fries were only warm & looked like they'd been sitting a while. The gyro was ok but nothing to write home about. It did have some large chunks of meat. I'd had a gyro elsewhere recently so got the Greek meatballs for some reason - I forget the name. I'm almost always disappointed in meatballs so that's on me. These were "ok." The yellow rice was fine. The special tomato sauce comes in a little metal cup. I used it for dipping & it was fine but not exactly a smothering sauce. This is in a strip shopping center so ambiance is limited out the gate & the A/C issue didn't help. The temp inside finally improved a bit at end but the atmosphere was pretty unpleasant. It's a 25-minute drive for us to get here anyway & given the experience, I couldn't see us returning. There was a good crowd though & I wish them well.

We were originally going to dine in for Hibachi, but this location also serves AYCE( all you can eat) KBBQ & Hot pot. It is one big restaurant, but it has a hibachi and sushi side, as well as a Korean barbecue and hot pot side. So if you want Korean barbecue, it's gonna be on the other side of the building. They can't bring hibachi/sushi menu foods to your table if you do the Korean barbecue and hot pot, and vice versa. I'm not the biggest fan of places like KPOT/kbbq & hot pot, but my friend was visiting us from out of the country. He insisted we do the kbbq & hot pot side of the restaurant. I do like volcano, restaurants, even though I don't typically like doing both barbecue and hot pot I decided to give volcano a chance. The reason why I don't like these places is because the meat is usually cut too thin so it's better to be on hot pot. But the seasoning and the hot pot is usually not the best so it's better to eat it on the grill . I opted to do only the Korean barbecue only, but if you want hot pot, it's a five dollar up charge. You can't just do only hot pot. My friend ended up getting both because he really wanted to try hot pot. Despite the name being korean barbecue, they actually had a lot of Chinese seasoning. If you look in the picture below, there is a Chinese barbecue seasoning. It's delicious. I love this dry rub that you can dip your meat into. I seriously think the dry rub was the best seasoning they had on the sauce bar. The sauce bar you could make your own sauces, as well as get some Korean side dishes, like kimchi and radish. They also have a small buffet area where they have noodles, Rangoon, dumplings, french fries, chicken nuggets. I really like their stirfry noodles. It was really flavorful! I highly recommend also getting some of the appetizers on the menu that is not on the buffet. They have corn cheese,Ramen, Korean rice cakes, veggie dishes, and more. I really liked the beef radish stew. I think I had four bowls of this. It was delicious, the beef was so tender, and the broth was just so flavorful. It's funny because my friend also tried the soup and he agreed the beef soup had more flavor than his hot pot . I did notice a problem with the meat being too thin for the grill because it burnt very fast and it sometimes stuck to the grill, but it wasn't as bad as their competitors K-Pot kbbq. Our server was very kind enough to change the grill anytime it got super dirty or if too much meat stuck on the grill. I also liked that the grill was really hot and it actually cooked our food. This is the main reason why I don't do both. I prefer going to a restaurant that specializes in Korean barbecue or go to a restaurant that specializes in hot pot. Despite our grill being very hot, I noticed mine friends hot pot took a long time to boil. I made sure his stove was actually on and it was on the highest setting. I took about an hour for his hot pot to actually start boiling, they do bring in pimping hot pot broth at the beginning. He was still able to cook his meats, but vegetables and thicker cuts of meat, took him a long time to cook. Oddly enough, the star of the show for us was the drinks and the desserts. We ordered three lychee bubble tea. It is a little on the sweeter side so I would mix it in with a little water or ask for a less sugar. But it was really refreshing and delicious. They have a few desserts like Chinese donuts, sesame balls, and a whole ice cream cooler. The ice cream was great. It's individually wrapped, and had three flavors, vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry. Their service here is very nice. I was greeted by other servers and staff. I also like seeing that they feed the staff. There was a little corner where the staff was able to eat, which always makes me so happy to know that they take care of the them. Would I come here again? Probably but I'm sticking to only Korean barbecue. Only because the hot pot took forever to actually boil, and I preferred the dry rub which taste better with grilled meats. I would come here often if it was Korean barbecue with revolving sushi. I love volcano's sushi, and if they did Korean barbecue with it. That is a dangerous combo for me. I would be here every weekend.
