Stopped into Jim 'N Nick's for dinner and really enjoyed the hospitality. They start you off with these little cheese cornbread muffins that are dangerously addictive, warm, fluffy, and the perfect way to kick things off. I tried the Southern Devil Eggs as an appetizer. Nothing mind-blowing, but they were a solid start to the meal. The real stars were the meats and sauces. The smoked turkey with the white sauce was the BOMB! that white sauce has an awesome peppery kick and made the turkey taste even better. The pulled pork was also really good and paired perfectly with the mustard/vinegar Carolina-style sauce. I also enjoyed the jalapeño sausage, great flavor and just the right amount of heat. For sides, the mac and cheese was decent, but the greens were packed with flavor and definitely stood out. Overall, a good BBQ spot. read more

I genuinely have no idea how Jim N Nicks has become a successful chain. All of the food I had today was mid and no one in my 10+ person party was raving about their food. There's no flavor. Except for the Mac n cheese, in which case there's too much flavor - it was 80% cheese and 20% macaroni. It tasted like I was just eating cooked cheese. And based on the other pics, it seems like it's made like this consistently. Why??? My family members who ordered the collard greens said they weren't cooked enough. The turkey in my sandwich was super bland and dry. Bun, lettuce, tomato were all good but didn't make up for the dry turkey. I tried adding some barbecue sauce to it but the sauce at our table was just super peppery and had no sweetness to it at all. This is a super disappointing barbecue spot. I'm giving it 3 stars because everything else was pretty good - we were sat quickly, our server was courteous, and there's plenty of parking. I would definitely not come back to a Jim N Nicks unless I had to. And if I did, I'd probably order a burger and no barbecue. read more

Excellent service and delicious food! The location that was closest to us recently closed this year so I was happy to stop in the Hiram location. We stopped by on a Friday afternoon for lunch and were quickly greeted and seated when we walked in. Our server Brina greeted us and was so friendly and welcoming! Our food also came out VERY quickly. I was so surprised. Everything was so delicious - my husband ordered a combo plate with chicken, pulled pork and ribs that came with 3 different sauces. I had the pulled pork with Mac & cheese and baked beans. Everything was so good! We absolutely love the food here and the cheesey cornbread muffins. The restaurant itself was very large, clean, and they had outdoor seating. Clean restrooms (with a baby changing table in the women's restroom). Always a win! We can't wait to go back. As someone who knows BBQ, I have to say -- Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q pleasantly surprised me. Their menu isn't overwhelming, but what they do offer? They do it right. I went for the JNN Original Burger -- double patty, melted American cheese, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, mayo -- and yes, I added bacon and brisket. Let's just say... Bomb.com. I grabbed a side of mac and cheese, which was solid, and sampled all the BBQ sauces. My standout favorite? The Morgan Co. white sauce -- smooth, tangy, and perfect on just about everything. They also had a seasonal sausage (name escapes me), but I need about five more of those in my life immediately. For about $30, I left full, satisfied, and seriously impressed. This location saved us for a backyard grad party picnic, and I couldn't be happier with the quality of food and service we received! If you know you know ( you can like them clean with no judgement..lol). My go to is the spare ribs. Hey his time I choose to do the two meat combo and got the spare ribs and chicken strips. Ribs were delicious as always and I enjoyed the strips too. I am not the biggest fan of their sides. The beans and Mac and cheese are just ok. I would definitely pick the Mac and cheese over the beans. I wish it didn't cost almost $3 to have one of your sides be a salad. The corn is also just an ok side. They used to have cabbage but just on certain days. Now they don't do it at all. I wish they did because it was my favorite side. Good food for the value. Make sure you get the cheese biscuits. I also love that they have a drive-thru, which is a lifesaver when you've got a baby in the back seat. The service is quick, so you're not stuck waiting forever. Whenever I don't feel like firing up the grill for a holiday, I just swing by and grab some BBQ from here, it's that good. They have a great selection of food, and while I'd rate the BBQ chicken a solid 4/5, the brisket is the true star for me. If I could, I'd give them a 4.5 overall. I've come here A LOT! It's my go to for takeout. They are always quick and efficient. I'm a Texan so I'm super picky about beef so they don't pass the brisket test lol. I am one who usually leaves a review, but I felt the need to today. I used to go often, but the Hiram, GA location was always getting my order wrong. I brought my concert to msnagement at least twice. The issue continued, so I quit going. We'll, it​ has been about 1.5 years since my last visit and decided to give it another go. Well...my order once again was incorrect. I ordered the #1 with Brisket and Mac & cheese and a kids grilled cheese with Mac & Cheese and a lemonad. The person taking my order could not get it right. Finally, he got the correct order and even had him repeat it to me...twice. I did get both Mac and cheeses, but I also got collards. I was not supposed to get collards. I caught this before leaving and returned them. Then after driving home for a bit, when stopped at a light I checked my receipt to make sure that I wasn't charged for the extra side and I wasn't. However , that is when I noticed that he put sweet tea for the child's drink, which was supposed to be a lemonade. I was just too tired after a long work day to turn around and have them correct my order. Then when I got home and realized that there was no BBQ sauce and the Mac & Cheese was super salty. It was so salty, my grandchild would not even eat it. The brisket was super salty today as well. Jim 'N Nick's is not cheap and it really irks me that they cannot seem to get their drive through orders correct. The last 7 or 8 times I went, my orders were wrong. Towards the end, I never left without checking my order and ended up having to go inside and have them correct it. As it continued, I just quit going. Then of course 1.5 yrs later, I give it another try and they messed up my order and the quality was not very good on top of it. I will say that at least their dine in is a little better with getting their orders correct. So if you go, make the effort to dine in. My husband really loves barbecue, and with this location having gluten-free items displayed on their menu; I thought we would try this place. I noticed that they have outside seating and a bar inside. They bring cheese muffins out when you are seated. I ordered 2 appetizers, a soup and salad, and a potatoe. For some reason, all the food came out at once while I had sat waiting, watching my husband eat the yummy biscuits that I couldn't eat. The food was delicious, but I was frustrated that they brought all the food out at once and didn't even bring the appetizers out as the appetizer. For the hospitality and wait staff to be mediocre and for my friends and i's food to be COLD TO THE TOUCH, only for the waiter to suggest we go home and put our nachos in the air fryer . So. About two weeks ago, I ordered from this Jimn Nick's, Hiram, GA location. I paid around $40 for ribs, baked beans, corn-on- the cob, and wings. The only item that was decent were the baked beans. That's it. So, I actually $40 for baked beans. I took the DIY approach to salvage this meal. The BBQ sauce on these ribs had a nasty taste. I scraped the sauce off the ribs and put my own store-bought sauce. Yes, the store bought BBQ is better than the sauce that was supplied. Put them in the oven for reheat. I added parmesan cheese to the corn. It already had some seasoning but needed something more. Put that in the oven for reheat. The wings... just no! No salvaging here even with the ranch dressing. I tried the Alabama sauce for the first time... no. It may be that Jim n Nicks version is horrible. It's mayonnaise. With all this redoing and reheating, I should have just cooked myself. That was the point of take out. Convenience. Time saving. So 2 stars for supplying the food. Customer service was good. I was able to find a designated parking space and it was "ready" in time. No, I will not be returning. No, I do not recommend. read more
