My favorite spot in Paducah! The building is beautiful and has a unique history. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. My family and I (a party of 10) made a reservation a couple days before. I'm glad we did, as it happened to be "Bingo Night" (which was very popular). Our food was outstanding...I would highly recommend the Great White pizza. The menu has options for everyone, including vegetarian/vegan! I would have given 4 if the service was better, and the food came in a more reasonable amount of time. Very decent pie though. Unfortunately, on the way in the door sliced my toes open. Not fun but after a few min a personable young man appeared and gave me first aid items. He checked on me several times and offered further assistance if needed. Mellow Mushroom has lost my business. I called about 1 month ago to make reservations for our competition karate team for Sunday evening at 5PM. I called to confirm Thursday and couldn't reach a real person. I reached someone on Friday to be told that they no longer took reservations (they did not call and let us know that we no longer had reservations). Thy said that they were under new management and that we would be allowed to call ahead and they would make accommodations for out party of 25-30. I called dojo manager and discussed and we decided to go ahead go since we had sent the notice out to the team. I attempted to call from the dojo and couldn't reach anyone. Wm and I rushed over and met one of our families, who were looking confused because they were told by the staff that there wasn't a party expected, even though there were several people in the restaurant. The manager then explained that they didn't take reservations, they had decided to close early, that they had a private party going on, that the equipment was already broken down for the evening, and it didn't matter what we were told before that we would not be served. THIRTY HUNGRY PEOPLE WERE PULLING INTO THE PARKING LOT, INCLUDING KIDS WHO HAD WORKED OUT FOR 2 HOURS!!!! Exactly why wasn't we contacted earlier? Why was I told on FRIDAY that they would accommodate us? You lost my business and anyone else that I can tell about your mismanagement. Excellent restaurant!! I have never been to a mellow mushroom restaurant before. I'm totally impressed. We were greeted and seated immediately and asked what we wanted to drink. I had a fantastic Bloody Mary. We had 2 specialty pizzas cooked to perfection. Bathrooms were neat and clean. I will visit here again and will advise others to go as well. read more

Best beer selection in the area with 48 craft beers on tap daily, combined with the best pizza... really not much more to say. The bar itself is a great place to meet friends and catch a ballgame. The Historic Coca Cola plant location is amazing and has revived Paducah's midtown area. Need to try the pretzel bites first. Then I almost always order the enlightened spinach salad with balsamic dressing. It's sort of a dessert salad... with dried cherries, pecans and apples. I love the spiked sausage hoagie when I'm not having pizza. As far as the pizza... I've tried them all... and every one has not disappointed... love the 10 ingredients on the house special and of course the mighty meaty with 5 types of meat... all time favorite though is the holy shiitake... I went to the Mellow Mushroom for the first time with my boyfriend over the weekend. With it being new joint - I knew it was going to be busy, but we were seated as soon as we walked in. Though I wish when entering the Coke plant there was a sign or something (yes, there is a big mushroom guy, but I was looking for words) After ordering a Cesar salad and a steak and pepper sandwich with seasoned potatoes, we waited for our food. The side Cesar salad was huge! We split it, but it was so good. When we got our sandwiches and calzones, we dug in. The veggies on my buns were seasoned so good, I could not wait to eat the meat. The boyfriend was choking down his cheese and ham calzone, so I knew it was cooked well too. Then, I got to the meat. I won't say the meat was not seasoned, but I have never tasted steak that was Smart Water flavored. It was a lot of meat, too. Just watery. Other than that everything was great! We really liked the pizza, we ordered Togo so we can't say how the service is. The tea is overly sweet and really lemony, I asked for half and half tea but there's no way it's cut in half! I'm not going to give it a bad review because of that though. We got a large house specialty pizza, small house salad, 2 kids meals and cheese bread for $48, I don't think the price is bad, I guess if your pizza consists of Pizza Hut, Dominos and other cheap franchises then I can see why people would think it's over priced but I don't believe it is. I went to Mellow Mushroom for the second time today. We got our pizza in less then 30 minutes. The pizza times vary a lot. The first time I went, the pizza wait was an hour and we decided to order something else. They had just opened, got a big pizza order and things were chaotic that day. I really think they've improved on speed and on the right path. We got the Holy Shiitake pizza and it was delicious. For those that love mushrooms, this is a great unique choice. The waitress was nice. I noticed an A rating from the health department. I love the way they decorated this place and found the historic film on a big screen to be a nice touch. I've been to mellow several times so I've had time to think on the review. Decent place, the front of house will tend to have no happiness in their eyes and have a snippy attitude. The waiters are much better at being happy and fairly consistent. Fair warning that more than likely you'll wait for a whole hour to get two medium pizzas ; the simple one will be just fine and the complex one will have everything on it that you specifically didn't ask for. Came in on a Sunday and sat at the bar. Candace and Tara were the bartenders. Not sure about the spelling. I had a small Caesar salad my wife had a small house salad and they were both wonderful and plentiful. We had the house special pizza with a thin crust and it was amazing. One late night after a long day at the hospital looking after Dad, we made our way here. We first went in the back door, missed the door and almost made our way into a rehearsal studio in the building...BUT once we found our way...we were in heaven! The food was wonderful. I waited a bit before I tried out mellow mushroom, because the hype for this place opening up was insane and also I had heard about some terrible wait times for a seat and pizza. We were seated immediately upon our arrival and we went ahead and ordered our pizza fairly quick since each pizza takes about 35 mins. The beer selection here is never ending and there is a ton of awesome choices. Our group started off with some pretzel bites and beer cheese and they were SO delicious! We decided on the buffalo chicken and house specials for our pizza. Everyone agreed that the buffalo chicken was the best and again very delicious! Service was good and the building restoration is incredibly cool. You won't be disappointed, but I do suggest going during the week for a better experience with wait times. read more

Thoroughly impressed with the appetizers I've had at Mellow Mushrooms throughout the Midwest and this one definitely did not disappoint. Spicy Thai wings work definitely on point delicious. Sandwiches not so much dry crusty bread probably due to the fact they put it on multi-grain instead of French roll. (rookie mistake) Not one person in the joint had attention to detail from the kitchen, service staff, Hostess or Busboys and especially the overly arrogant bartenders, NONE. Let's start this off before we got there, we requested a seating for twenty and they said they had us covered when we got there they told us a two hour wait. After having to explain the situation they separated us into two different tables. We then had five minutes to decide on drinks but had to wait for 30 minutes for them. Then the food. We order all deprecated keeping it organized. They food was great except for the pizza crust(which they are famous for) which was hard. But we had to wait at LEAST an hour and a half to get the last order out. And many of dishes came out a weird times so you had to eat in front of your peers. I recommend getting the bruschetta as an appetizer, it comes out quickly and will hold you over while you wait. I've noticed a few issues with the consistency of the pizza such as it not being thoroughly cooked (doughy) sometimes, I complained last time and they made it right. What a trainwreck...we were in town visiting family for Christmas and went there on the day after Christmas and it was horrible from the start. We arrived at 5:00 and asked for a table for 6. They didn't have any tables that they could put together for our family and told us that it would be a 30 minute wait. OK, that's reasonable...we waited 45+ minutes while we think they waited for the perfect table...because my wife asked them why they couldn't seat us at the big 10 person table that was vacant and their response was "that table's too big for your group" despite them not having anyone else waiting for the table. They relented and gave us that table anyhow at 5:50p. Finally seated, we proceed to give our drink order and appetizer order at 6:10p to Mindy, our waitress, and the non-alcoholic drinks came out relatively quickly, however the two people waiting for beers ended up waiting 20 minutes for them. Finally at 6:30, all beverages in hand (but not our appetizers) we ordered our entrees and proceeded to wait...and wait...and wait. Our appetizer (pretzel bites) finally arrived at 6:50 (40 minutes after ordering). We continued to wait...and wait...and wait. Asking our waitress whenever we saw her how much longer it would be, and her stock response was, "Soon!" We continued to wait...until my wife spoke with the manager at 7:25 (nearly an hour after ordering) who apologized and said that the kitchen was backed up...when the restaurant was only 50% full, with most of the tables already having food, including those around us who came in after us... Finally our food (two pizzas, one hamburger, and one sub) arrived at 7:45. (I know the times because our table had a clear view of the kitchen clock.) When they did arrive, the troubles didn't end there...my daughter's sub which was asked to not have tomatoes on it had tomatoes on it, my father-in-law's hamburger was cooked so well done, that I think my shoe would have been more tender, and our pizza which we asked for have the cheese extra-browned was not. My daughter got her sub re-made, but my father-in-law was so hungry at this point he ate what he could of it, and as for the under-browned pizza, we just dealt with it, because at this point we were all absolutely hungry and didn't want to wait any longer. We complained to the manager, and he comped a good amount of our bill and offered to give us certificates for our next visit. Since we are not local, it was worthless to us, and my sister-in-law said she dealt with similar service another time she came, so she didn't want them either since she'd never come here again. read more

If you come here you should always expect to wait a good while but it always seems like it's worth it. I'm vegan and while I wait I love the pita bread/ veggies and hummus. The pita bread is always warm and soft. They also offer vegan cheese and even though I don't like it as much as the old daiya cheese it is still very very good on pizza. The pizza can easily be made vegan if you ask them for no cheese or butter on the crust. The last time we went there our waiter didn't come to see us for twenty minutes, I caught one of the waitresses and told her and our new waitress was very very apologetic and super nice. After we got the check they had given us 50% off without us even prompting! We ended up spending the full amount, giving all the money that she had discounted us back to her in a tip because she was such a wonderful waitress! read more

Our family is loyal to the MM brand. We just happened to find this one during our cross country road trip. This place did not disappoint. Pizza was stellar and consistent with what we have had before so nothing but love in the food department. Love the restaurant vibe - a very open space more so than what I have experienced in the past. It shares a building with a local ice cream shop which is convenient.
