I have been to this Mellow several times.The food was very good.Still not as good as Savannah but I think with time it will improve. The wait staff however has a lot of improving to do. While we have been seated quickly it took over ten minutes and asking where our waitress was to get some attention. After we ordered we still had to watch our teenage waitress talk to another table for another twenty minutes before we flagged her down to check on our already ready order. I'm not sure if it is the age of the wait staff but the other Mellow's don't seem to have this problem. We will go back but I think one more bad experience will have us looking for another Mellow. read more

We try to make it to mellow every Wednesday for trivia! I do miss Evan (RIP) the original trivia guy and for being a liberal he was cool. I'd say the the food is great and beer selection is not too shabby. Majority of the time David waits on us and for a big group that I come here with he takes very could care considering there are several other big groups. Nice when the server can remember what your drinking and keeps them coming especially when we're losing. Other than that decor I don't like but it's a family joint, tables are clean but the toilets can use some attention at times. The first few times I went here, awful experiences. But, tonight we went because my son wouldn't stop asking to go see the Spider-Man and Optimus prime and the minion. We were so pleasantly surprised. David took care of us tonight and could not have made the experience any better. We chatted and joked, he recommended some tasty delights. I just loved the ambiance. This is just a good place to relax and have something to eat and not pay a butt ton of money. Go here to get some decent food with awesome service - fast, friendly, and attentive. Yes, this the place to eat, sit, and relax. The menu has a bit of everything to please almost everyone, even those who don't eat meat or gluten or pizza for that matter. I had a Greek salad - very nice, and some pizza, which was good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the sauce - not that it was bad, I just didn't seem to enjoy it as much as the others in our party, which was my whole family. Also, very clean and decent prices. Overall, I can't say it's just one thing that makes this place good, it's all the things put together that give the Mellow Mushroom a vibe and food that I enjoyed. I guess if you're 25 or under it's a pretty good place but for anyone older it can come off as downright annoying. Anyone who can call this decent pizza has nothing but Dominos to compare it to...dense, heavy, undercooked crust...a vat of oil drained off each slice - and at $25 for a 16 in pie, well... Loud music, the most heavily tattooed and face-pierced staff I've ever seen, and just weird looking larger than life sized action figures am every corner. I'd be surprised if anyone on the Sunday staff was over 18. Call me an old fogey but there's a real fine line between a fun restaurant and one that could make anyone over 35 feel uncomfortable. read more

Just finish eating at this location with my fiancé , let me rephrase that . My fiancé just eat there , after waiting for 30 minutes for my calzone to come out it wasn't even cooked. Love this Mellow Mushroom so much! Our server was awesome and very accommodating. Such a sweet girl. The vibe here is funky and cool and the food is outstanding. I have tried the jerk chicken hoagie and the buffalo chicken pizza, both are amazing. There are a lot of Mellow Mushroom's in this area now, but I really dug this one. The manager checked in on us, the cook made fresh pizzas and sang good tunes. The art work was cool, the staff was great, cocktails rocked too! Can't wait to come back and visit. I love the salads here, especially the Greek! You can't go wrong with the House pizza either and the pretzel bites with the beer cheese are to die for. This Mellow Mushroom is really cool because it has a superhero theme and my son loves the Spider-Man on the ceiling and the Transformer at the host stand. The food is usually good. But it takes FOREVER to get food. It really does. I honestly try not to go there very often because of that. And sometimes the service is good but sometimes it's not. Not getting refills. Having to ask for help from other wait staff that isn't even in my section to get help. Otherwise, food is good. Terrible Service! Hostess just put the menus and silverware in a big pile on the table and left. Our utensils were not the cleanest. We finally got to order our food but it did not all come out at the same time. We got our food at intervals. Pizza was delivered with no plates to eat it on. The server never returned to our table to check on us except to bring the tab. I would never go back to this particular Mellow Mushroom. Other MM are great but this one is horrible. I went into mellowmushroom tonight for their delicious pizza! We ordered and waited, and waited, and waited; they were not packed. Our waitress brought our water, we waited some more-- a man approached our table: for an honest conversation:there appearred to be a miscommunication in the kitchen concerning our pizza order, we were told: it is in the oven now & give it 5-6 min. We waited until we saw a plate of french fries ( all i could see of the plate) sat for 10+ min on the ready to be served ledge and two pizzas ( both to go) readied/ boxed-- then we left! Pooler's Mellow Mushroom is the best place to get pizza in town. The crust is well crafted, the toppings are fresh, and their big ovens produce pizzas that are tasty and well seasoned. My husband and I also vouch for the hummus - it's delicious and they give lots of pita points with it. Also - the movie themed decor is really cool. read more

Great calzones. Service is slow. So slow. Even for a family of four. It will take at least half an hour up to an hour for the food to come out and 20 minutes after ordering an appetizer or salad will come. No matter how busy they are they're still slow and when they're actually busy they're unreasonably slow as food can take up to an hour at least to come out. It really shouldn't take that long. It's just frustrating! However, this mellow mushroom is a little better with speed than the downtown one, but the quality is not as good as the downtown location. The superhero theme is fun but that's gonna die out whenever DC and Marvel stop making superhero movies or when the superhero technology and dress becomes not modern. read more

Our experience at the Mellow Mushroom in Pooler was very disappointing. My wife and I decided to try this restaurant since it's one of the newer etablishments in the area. We've eaten at various Mellow Mushroom locations; however, tonight's experience was way below par. We started off with the meatball trio as our appetizer; although it lacked seasoning, the marinara sauce tasted very fresh. We ordered a medium pizza and our waitress told us that our order would be ready in 30 minutes so we waited patienty, after 30 minutes had passed she came back and stated that they were very busy and that it would be another 15 minutes before our pizza came out. We waited an additional 15 minutes, but we noticed others who'd been seated after us were receiving their meals. After waiting for about an hour and fifteen minutes, the waitress returned and stated that our order had been lost and that she would try and get the manager over to our table. When the manager finally came to our table to explain the situation of the phantom ticket, her whole demeanor was very uncaring and cold. Her solution to the issue was to offer us pizzas, "that had no home." I stated to her that if we wanted cold takeout we could have gone to dominoes. She said that cold pizza was better than no pizza at all because it would be discarded anyway. I was very offended by the manager's method of customer recovery! At this point we asked the manager for our check, so that we could go somewhere for a good meal since we had grown quite hungry after what amounted to almost one hour and forty- five minutes and 3 meatballs. We weren't even comped for the appetizer! Having dined from Dubai to Mexico this was by far, the worst dining experience that we've had in a very long time. It's sad that we've received better service in 3rd world countries. We even witnessed two servers' hair swinging into the pizza as they delivered pizza's to the tables. It seems unfathomable that they would permit the servers to wear their hair so long while on duty. After such a long wait time, having never received our pizza, a horrible manager, and some unsanitary practices, we will not be returning to Mellow Mushroom in Pooler. read more

we ate the mm in pooler today. I will never eat there again. Service was terrible and the manager could care less. The people cooking had no hair nets hats on backwards. My husband and our two children (ages 2 & 5) ate here last night. The wait was only for about 30 minutes which was no problem considering they were very busy. After sitting down the waitress was very friendly and keep our drinks full and asked many times if we were OK. Never told us that the pizza would take between 30 and 45 minutes but luckily we had eaten at the one downtown so we were expecting about that much time for the pizza to come. We ordered the pretzels and the took a little long to come but that was OK. Then about an hour and a half later I found a manager to asked about our ONE med size pizza that we hadn't gotten yet and was told that he knew what was going on (news to me). He proceed to tell me that our pizza was burned so they were fixing another one and the Kitchen manager was on it. He never apologize and acted as if he could have cared less. So then after waiting for another 15 to 30 minutes my husband had to take our children outside because they were getting so restless another manager stopped by to ask how our dinner was so I told her what was going on. She proceed to "find" out and was never seen again. When our pizza finally came out it was in a box just as i had asked but no apology from anymore except the waitress. BUT.....they also did not take the pizza off our bill so I told the waitress I was NOT paying for the pizza still no apology from management. We WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN. read more

Worst food ever. Worst service ever. Walked out after the salad delivered to us at the bar by Terrance the barman was brown and rotten. Took him 10 minutes to even offer us a drink when sitting at the bar. The straw that broke the camels back was when his sweat dripped on our plates he had behind the bar and then put them in front of us. He was rude and very un attentive. Very disappointed this one does not have the same happy hour or feel as the down town location! Pooler is yuppy and your wallet will feel it! Two beers each for my husband and I, 3 kids beverages and a large 4 top pizza runs $70 in Pooler. Same meal down town during 4-7 happy hour, $34! Okay... Not a bad place. I have been here 7 times and every time we manage to get the worst waiter or waitress. Drinks are forgotten, food is forgotten. I have never came here and had everything delivered to our table that was ordered. Did you get you beer cheese sir? No we did not! I will put the order in again... 20 minutes later... How is everything? still waiting on that beer cheese (waitress) Oh man.. walks away brings cold beer cheese to table and walks away. glasses empty 20 minutes later are you ready for your check? Seriously? This has been the routine every visit and they just don't care! The Pretzel is amazing with hot beer cheese if you can get it! The pizza is good not great! It is very loud in there. NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN. The Staff was so rude and took FOREVER to get my food and when I got my food, it was wrong... Our 1st time here (& unaware that Thurs was ladies night) the waitress was very helpful with telling us all about what they had to offer and today was ladies night which meant I could get a free bruschetta and half price glass or bottle of wine, sounds good, right? She had already mentioned we could have half of 1 kind (of pizza) & half of another.... That's what we liked since there were trying to decide between 2....Philosophers Pie & Mellowterranean don't know which 1 I liked better. ( my husband preferred the Mellowterranean 1 best). This place served uncooked meat to my one year old. He had the kid's meatballs with broccoli. The meatball was PINK inside and ice cold to the touch. The broccoli was supposed to be steamed, but it was hard, raw, and unseasoned. I told the server, she took it away and promised to get a manager. Our food finally came. And our son's replacement meal came. But a manager never came. I finally had to ask the bus boy to get a manager at the end of our meal. A "manager" finally came to our table and argued with me that the meatballs are precooked and then frozen so they couldn't POSSIBLY be raw. Yes, actually they could be if they were not properly cooked in the first place, and not thoroughly thawed. She eventually offered to comp his meal after we had already paid. A $5 meal. Great. Thanks. And then she offered a gift card. WHY WOULD WE RETURN? Not to mention, our server absolutely sucked. Our food sucked. Overcooked and cold. That place wasn't even that busy.
