very confused here. Put our name in for a half an hour wait, and they gave us a page where they would text when a table was ready. After a half an hour waiting and seeing many people leave and no people entering, we asked the hostess and she said they didnt know anything about an app. Needless to say we left and 15 minutes later we got the text we could be seated. Pick up order, told half an hour. Been waiting over an HOUR for a simple salad and burger /tater tots. Salad came out at 1 1/2 hours minus the tater tots. They said they forgot to make them. Still working out the kinks... We tried to order takeout. Arrived 25 minutes after ordering. Went to the register to pay and pick up. The Manager came out and said there was a problem with our order - it hadn't made it to the computer so she needed start over. "What was your order? I'll be right back to tell you when we can have it ready." 5 minutes or so later, she walked out with 3 pizzas. Opened the boxes one at a time to show me the pizza. One wasn't our order. After another trip to the kitchen, she comes back with three pizzas. All ours this time, but one was way over cooked. Like mostly burnt, over cooked. She offered to replace in 15-20 minutes, but no discount. It seems like they haven't worked out the kinks yet or that they aren't ready for crowds. Hopefully, they figure things out before tourist season shifts into gear. read more

We had a wonderful experience at Mellow Mushroom. Our waiter Ben was spectacular with the 2 children (8 and 3 years old) that we had in our party. He was very accommodating and took the time to listen to them as they ordered and talked with them. That meant a lot to them and they continued to mention him after we left the restaurant. My family and I ordered the bruschetta and pretzel appetizers. The bruschetta was okay. We ordered a vegetable pizza and a cheese pizza. Both pizzas were tasteless and disgusting. We ordered a cheesy bread that never came even though we were told it was baking. Our food came out one entree a time with a 10-15 minute wait between entrees . Said the tater tots came with the hoagie but then was charged extra for them. servers didn't seem to know what table ordered what food and was bringing to wrong tables. Brought us plates twice for pizza and we didn't order pizza. table next to us of 5 ordered pizza and salad after us and got food way before us, ate and left before us, same waitress. I had a great experience here! The happy hour was great, the bartender was amazing, and the pizza was delicious. I went with a friend who has an allergy that made it impossible for her to eat one of the drizzles on top of the pizza we got. They brought it out with the drizzle by accident and before they could even put it on the table they realized the mistake. Not only did they immediately say something, but they let us know there would be another one coming out without the drizzle ASAP. The crust is my favorite. My husband has been here with friends for beer and appetizers and has sat out by the fire pits and said it was the perfect spot. We're glad they came to the Burg! read more

We went this past Saturday for lunch with a party of 8 adults and 3 under 11 and one infant. They had a soccer team in so the wait was around 45 minutes for our large, non-reservation group and it was well worth it. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious. First the good: We really liked the meatball appetizer, and the small Caesar salads were plenty large and very good. I'd get both again. As for the pizzas, I generally find them to be average at best, but my son wanted to go there and the pizzas aren't terrible. They were okay, as expected. But MM loses at least 1 additional star for the service. When we ordered, we specifically asked that they not bring the pizzas until we were done with the salad. Sure enough, 2 bites into the salad, out came the pizza. Also, they took our plates when we were done with the appetizers and never brought new ones for our pizza. After waiting for far too long, I had to get up and find someone to ask for plates -- and they still didn't bring them. When the manager (?) asked if everything was okay, we told her of our issues. She just acted surprised and did nothing. I guess she viewed her question as being rhetorical, kind of like "how are you?" She clearly had little interest in our problems or in taking steps to address them. I'm quite certain there are better options in W-burg. read more

Visiting from out of state. Never been here before. Walked in and someone handed us a menu. We thought we had to order at the counter and then someone would bring our order to our table or we would get our food then go sit at a table. The person taking our order talked so softly that it was difficult to hear him (and it was a very noisy restaurant). When we received our order, it was in a to-go bag. I asked if we just go sit at any table. He said we couldn't sit at a table. I explained we had never been here before. He apologized. Another person said we could sit outside at a table. I had to return to the counter to get a spoon for soup. A young woman asked if I was waiting for my order. I said, no and that I hadn't been in such a place as this in a long time. And that it's a long story. I said I needed a spoon and a manager. She said she was the manager. I told her my story. She apologized and thanked me for letting her know and that should would talk with them. She offered to let us sit at a table. Employees should have some much needed customer service training. Need to learn where their paycheck comes from. I won't be going back. The place itself is very nice. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say. read more

I want to give the biggest shoutout to Caroline our server, she was literally the best server I've ever had... at any restaurant I've ever been to! It started as we sat down and I wanted to have one of their ciders. They didn't have the cider I wanted so she brought me out a tester of one that she wanted me to try. When I didn't really like it she told me that she would bring me out a couple that I might like. Like okay service. She came back and dropped off to for me to try. I ended up picking a watermelon cider that was so refreshing after sweating like a pig in this horrible humid weather. Guess what!? It didn't stop there! She ended up giving us to go boxes and asked if we wanted to take our drinks to go, my friend and I both said yes. She then got my friend a fresh sprite.... Like WHAT. Again, OKAY SERVICE! Lord knows there's nothing worse than a water down soda. She went above and beyond with the littlest things, which she did not have to. She was so friendly and made us all laugh. We were skeptical about getting pizza from this joint, but were so pleasantly surprised with how amazing it was! It was the perfect take out meal after a long day of driving to Williamsburg. Would highly recommend this place for families and groups that are in need of an easy, affordable and delicious meal to eat together. Ordered online which was super easy, ran inside to pick it up. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only thing we didn't realize is that one of the salads was incorrect and there wasn't any dressing for it. Luckily we had two so the dressing from the other was fine. Absolutely atrocious. Place is run by children. Terrible service, surely attitudes. In a mostly empty restaurant, it took 40 minutes for an appetizer. No drink refills. Asked 2 people about the food. Both ignored my plea for assistance. Saw the waiter twice. Once to take the order. Once to deliver 3 cold pizzas, and the check over an hour later. Finally got a visit from the manager who pledged to discount the check - then failed to do so. Had to send the check back for edit. Had to get the food to go after sitting for an hour and fighting with the inept staff to be fed. Terrible management and staffing. Absolute BS. Go anywhere else. Unbelievable this place is still in business. I'd rather eat my shoe - it'd probably taste the same. Total sh!tshow. read more

Went here based on our experiences on Hilton Head Island, and they definitely stepped up to the plate. They not only stepped up, but they hit it out of the park! My companion (Mother of our children) ordered the baked wings with Sweet Thai Chili Sauce. I generally order a small pizza (more on that later), because she normally doesn't finish her meal; thus, I get to finish those delectable morsels. It's been many years that I could count on some of her plate. BUT NOT THIS TIME! They broke the pattern!! At this point, I didn't care, because I had started on my own order of a small Holy Shitake pizza. Now, to me, the first bite was like a religious experience - it was that delicious!
