Parking is extremely difficult for this MeloMelo location however if you're lucky and patient enough to get a parking then you'll be able to experience an amazing coconut dessert. First off this coconut dessert was fresh and delicious, we ordered the mango coconut dessert and triple latte. The coconut portion was fresh, great texture and most importantly to us, not watery. Secondly the interior was nice and clean, a few tables to enjoy if eating there. The girl helping us was friendly and welcoming. This location definitely trumps the Irvine location and I can now see why the Westchester location closed. The Sawtelle location is in a prime location, plenty of potential customer and the coconut dessert was amazingly delicious! read more

Underrated dessert spot on Sawtelle. They have WiFi, it's never crowded, and the desserts are delicious. There's also a menu of matcha/tea lattes, which are whisked by hand and made to order! I'm giving the Sesame Walnut Coconut Jelly a 4/5 because while it was delicious, the ratio of the coconut jelly to topping is a little off. The sesame topping was quite watery, which led to the coconut jelly dissipating halfway through enjoying it. read more

Why have I not been here before? I am a huge fan of anything tender coconut, and I used to (USED TO) have a favorite ice cream parlor back at home.. but MeloMelo has easily toppled the rankings now considering how AMAZING their desserts are. I'm a sucker for the classic coconut flavor and tried their coconut double and honestly - go try it yourselves! Also kudos to their service for packaging it in a cute insulated cloth bag! read more

We were looking for a new tea or milk tea place to try in Sawtelle and cane across MeloMelo. The place was really clean, neat and most of all so cute, inviting and aesthetic. There are lots of tables/seating inside and outside patio. It is perfect for big group or even just to unwind, relax while having some of the drinks/ coconut jelly dessert by yourself. We ordered the Osmanthus Oolong Iced Tea, Cream Oreo Coconut and Mango Coconut Jelly. Everything taste delicious!!! Yes, It is a bit the pricey but its worth it! I love the packaging, the cute insulated to go bag the bottle they use for the coconut dessert, the straws, cups and spoon! They even sell their own merchandise here! If only I sont have enough cups at home I will actually buy one but I've no more space. The service was great! Fast, efficient and helpful! read more

MeloMelo is one of my absolute favorite dessert places around! Their coconut jelly never misses, especially on a hot summer day. They recommend eating them same day, but I've found that the ones without fresh fruit can usually be kept in the fridge for an extra day or two without going bad! Service is always friendly and nice when I've ordered in person. :) read more

Quick dessert after lunch. Walked in on a weekend afternoon and it was empty. Went straight to the counter to order. Banana nutella coconut - nutella hazelnut cocoa spread, signature coconut jelly, and banana slices. Coconut jelly added a lightness to the dessert. I do wish it was thicker though, from the nutella. It was quite thin and the sliced bananas were kind of bigger chunks so the mouthfeel and texture was a bit odd to me. Flavor overall was still really good. Hot day so a more refreshing sweet treat to enjoy. read more

We visited after having lunch nearby and the cafe was not busy. We chose our flavors at the counter and sat at the table near the window. The glass jar looks so cute and we can reuse it or recycle back to the store for a discount for the next purchase. - rose matcha: at first I was afraid that the rose will overpower such delicate coconut but it had just the perfect amount of nice floral aroma. The matcha was my favorite part. It has a slight bitter taste that perfectly complement the coconut jelly. - banana nutella: what can go wrong with this combo! It was super tasty! It felt like eating ice cream but healthier version. The jelly was smooth and the banana nutella gave enough sweetness to the dessert. read more

I first got to check out MeloMelo for the first time ever last summer at their Westchester location on Lincoln Blvd. Fast forward to this fall and I got to check out their location on Sawtelle. Currently the Sawtelle location is the first location where they are offering their new MeloMelo tea series! This new tea series includes six different milk teas and matchas. Since I am a fan of MeloMelo desserts and I am also a matcha/milk tea enthusiast, you knew I had to come here and check it out. This MeloMelo location is clean and spacious. Their workers are friendly and are very helpful with recommendations. I chose to get a mix of their matcha and milk tea drinks. My favorites from their new drink series are their Matcha Lattes. The Matcha Lattes are made with premium matcha, fresh fruit and real milk. They range price from $6.85 to $7.85. They have three flavors - Matcha Latte, Mango Matcha Latte and Strawberry Matcha Latte. The ones with the fresh fruit are the ones I really enjoyed. I loved the sweet flavors of the fruit of the bottom and then mixing it with the earthy tones of the matcha. The milk teas series is also quite enjoyable. For these they also have three types. They have artisan jasmine green reserve, charcoal roasted oolong and black golden leaf. These are $5.85 to $6.85 in price range. They say these are made with real milk teas and are real quality and real healthy. The helpful employees told me that their charcoal roasted oolong is their best seller and so I chose to get that. I did find this drink be pretty tasty. It has a nice robust flavor with hints of roasted nuts and fruits. It's the kind of drink you would want to just sip slowly to enjoy and relax. MeloMelo makes such amazing desserts and now they make some pretty good drinks. The drinks are delicious and I could really tell they are made out of quality ingredients. I definitely recommend checking out their new drinks. They are currently only available at Sawtelle but they will start offering these drinks at the Irvine location on October 17. read more

TLDR; nice mango pudding with fresh fruits with good staff and location Staff were nice, location is in the middle of Sawtelle which is really convenient. It's pretty quiet and there is space to sit and eat. Puddings are fresh and not too sweet -- would recommend! Went there especially for a pudding. Since this is the only place with a huge variety of puddings. So the service is quickly friendly and polite. Got a jasmine coconut and banana Nutella. So for the texture of a pudding it wasn't consistent it was more of yogurt lumpy liquidy. Coconut is too strong and overpowering which I feel like is a powder coconut flavor or coconut flavor essence as it does not taste like fresh coconut milk or maybe use a li'l less of whatever coconut milk they are using. I could not taste jasmine or Nutella. Either make the flavors to stand their ground against the powerful coconut. read more

I know MeloMelo has a lot of fans, and when they opened their first Dallas location, they had huge lines. I'm not the biggest fan of coconut-flavored things, so I've always been hesitant to go out of my way to try it. However, we were right by the area to grab dessert with friends, and my friend reassured me that their dessert actually has a very light coconut flavor. After trying, I wholeheartedly agree with that opinion. It's more like a light custard or panna cotta, and you can pick from a variety of purees or toppings. I opted for the mango, and it was such a nice and light dessert. I'm a fan! read more

Melo Melo right down the street from us oh no, we just live down the street oh that's so kind of you just really thirsty is a delicious and some healthy option. Today I was excited to try out durian. We also couldn't help grabbing a mango and a taro, our favorites. Super excited to be trying jasmine as they are doing free jelly promotion and since I always review on Yelp, it was meant to be. Shout out to Christian for his excellent service today and his patience while we perused the options and eventually selected our tasty selections. I'm glad to see MeloMelo still on Sawtelle as I've seen so many business come and go, not lasting a year on this street. The star reduction is purely on price. I was introduced by a friend a few years ago and she loved the uniqueness of the dessert--coconut jelly. I've had their Durian and Mango Jellies, which all taste so fresh and delicious. The jelly is made to perfection. The downside is the steep price for the size of the dessert. I understand it's crafted into a mason jar which increases the cost. But the price along has kept me from coming here as much as I like to. Service is standard, never had a bad experience. There's tons of available seating inside and outside. The owner hosts giveaways on her social media so I actually won a Mango Coconut which still tastes just as good as I first had it years ago! read more

The Baseline: For a desert shop the flavor of offerings must out-weigh the taste of pure sugar, there must be unique/rare offerings that drive me to go there, and the value of the desert must be balanced with the fact I probably just finished a meal. Food: This is a coconut based dessert shop with a bunch of different flavor combinations. I got the ube (tasty) and the durian (for my wife and will never touch durian again). The desserts come in glass lid containers so you don't need to get a to go box. The packaging makes a nice presentation for the dessert. Service: I had great service and staff was really helpful in picking out my desert.. Ambiance: The seating situation has indoor and outdoor. The desert shop is nicely decorated and has a nice upscale vibe to it. Recommend this place for dessert on a Sawtelle date night. read more

First time coming into this location and it's so cute. I've been to the Melo Melo on Lincoln because that's closer to home and have tried the chia puddings and they are so good! The service was amazing, Esther was the person that helped me. I won a contest on ig for a free Strawberry Matcha, which was absolutely delicious! I was simply walking by and was intrigued by the concept of this place. What is melo melo? A cute, small space with pretty lighting, very clean. I was the only person inside but I think there was someone eating outside. I was promptly helped by someone behind the counter. The coconut jelly dessert is prepackaged in cute glass jars in the counter display. I purchased the pistachio rose and the ube taro, which were both absolutely delicious. Pistachio rose had clear pink rose jelly and rose petals which were sweet and floral, very light and refreshing on a hot day, and a dusting of finely chopped pistachios along with the pistachio creme. Ube taro was delightful as well, with thick, luxurious light purple cream and chunks of soft, chewy sweet potato in the bottom of the jar. Recieved napkins and extra spoons with my order. Definitely stop by for a light and refreshing treat! read more

My goodness I wish I came across this dessert place sooner! It was delicious-- real fruit used, with just right amount of sweetness, real coconut not overtly strong, refreshing dessert. Melo Melo is such a cute aesthetically pleasing shop! If you love coconut then you will absolutely fall in love! I am always going to the west side (Sawtelle) as we frequent a few establishments there and are always in LA. It is so nice to have found this gem. There are sooo many yummy options!! I got the mango coconut purée jar. I think the price is fair considering you get to take home the cutesy jar which you can re-use for say your overnight oats! Staff was kind and even let us sample the coconut before we purchased anything. I adore the pretty bags they give you your order in. Everything about this shop was 10/10 chefs kiss! When I am craving something sweet and on the healthier side, I come to Melo Melo on Sawtelle. Every single jelly I've tried so far is flavorful, not overly sweet, and unique. Today I got the vegan pistachio rose coconut jelly and...WOW! Rose mochi on top, rose jelly on the bottom, with pistachio cream and coconut oat milk jelly in the middle. I think this is my new favorite!! Khai was super helpful in answering all of my detailed questions about what the specialty items had that were different from the regular coconut jelly. Pretty much everyone I've talked to here is helpful and kind. Plus they've always got mellow music that is nice to chill to. read more

Stopped by for dessert during lunch time on a weekday and it was a great experience!!! It was empty and the woman behind the counter was so helpful in offering suggestions and helping me decide what to get since there were so many yummy options to choose from. Place was very clean and cutely decorated! There are some vegan options but most flavors contain milk fyi! I ordered the mango purée coconut and it came in a cute jar that I was able to take home with me. I'd say the portion was pretty large but it was so good that I was able to finish the whole thing. It was super refreshing and the mango chunks added a great variety in texture. I'd say the consistency of the coconut was like flan but a bit more on the watery side. There was a good balance of coconut and mango flavors! It was the perfect healthy, refreshing dessert! I really enjoyed what I got here and look forward to trying the other flavors offered. It is on the pricier side but you could tell they make their desserts fresh with fresh fruits and you get a pretty decent sized jar to take home! Every time I come down from San Francisco, I make a special stop at MeloMelo just to get their amazing desserts. This time I bought 8 cups -- Original Coconut, Mango Pomelo, Matcha Red Bean, Strawberry, Taro, Black Sesame, Durian, and Thai Tea. Each one was delicious, smooth, and not overly sweet -- just the way I like it! The staff was also incredibly attentive and patient. They helped me confirm each flavor and carefully packed everything for me. I really appreciate the consistent quality and great service here. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

I love both strawberry and mango, so i couldnt go wrong with these! The coconut is well complimented by the sweet fruit. The worker advised us not to mix up the coconut and fruit since it was our first time (not too sure what this means). The customer service was great! She asked us if it was our first time trying melo melo, and she gave us recommendations based on our tastes and what is popular. The jars and bags are so cute! They are reusable, and good quality. It was pretty empty when we went. I think only one other customer was present when we ordered. Granted, it was a monday night. Although a little pricy, you are getting what you pay for! As I strolled around, I couldn't help but notice a sign that read "Free Samples" for something I've never tried before. To my surprise, the matcha taste wasn't overpowering as I had feared; instead, it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend trying it out. I am a regular at this place! This place is just so addicting. If you are unsure about trying this place, you need to go! The inside is always clean and staff is friendly.
