I came here for a quick bite to eat before a movie. I didn't have a reservation, but thankfully I was able to get seated at the upstairs bar. I got "Nights in Venice" and it was good, but just a little too sweet for my liking. I had the "Penicillin" drink and that was great. The bartender Tyler was awesome and very personable. I first made reservations for 2 for my husbands 50th birthday 2 weeks in advance, while on the phone I asked if they do anything while celebrating his birthday , they confirmed he would receive some kind of cheesecake (flavors are different each day). I called back one week later and asked if I could add 3 more people, and the lady was so pleasant and said no problem, again I asked about the complimentary dessert for my husband, and she gave me the same answer. (Only asked, to know if I needed to buy a cake for at home, I am not cheap) We arrived on the night of my husbands 50th birthday, host sent us to our table and wished my husband a happy birthday , our waitress Janie was very pleasant and wished my husband a Happy Birthday. She even took pictures of our party of 5 for us. So we have a memory for my husband that will last forever. Janie brought out more bread when needed. Food was made to perfection. We are regulars here. The kitchen has very high standards, and consistency is one of them. The menu has shrunk a bit "post-Covid" (I still miss the best darned pork chop marsala I ever had). I really appreciate the varied portion sizes of the pasta dishes. Everything down to the olive oil is top notch - the caprese is very worthwhile. My standby is the bolognese, which sets a high standard. Steak is always perfectly cooked. The hamburger: you can taste the meat, and the bun, and the bacon, and the cheese, and the tomato, which I don't take for granted. Lunch panini are tasty! Desserts are meh-to-good. The wine person is very thoughtful - I usually just get a glass, and even those are well curated, def not just "house red". Cocktails are always spot on. Ugh...I actually hate writing this review, as I'm pretty low maintainence :) As a longtime patron-I've observed a couple of paxos' restaurants taking the ride downhill for a variety of reasons. I'll keep my comments specific to Melt in fairness. The common thread, however, is poor or barely existent management. (You know who you are :). ). Food is okay. When u have a corporate chef who is likely responsible for menus at all establishments, expect the same mundane menu time after time. Anything referenced as a "special" is a Misuse of the term. The apparent high turnover of staff says something...which isn't positive. Their price point certainly warrants more. Staffs attention to details has waned over the years....as has cleanliness. (Take a peek at the workstation and stainless refrigerators behind the bar and you'll know what I mean). Begs the question: What does the kitchen look Like if public viewing space looks Like this? Yikes. I'd recommend an alternate location. There are numerous in the area. Paxos: do better. Cheers! read more

My friend and I met up here one evening for dinner to catch up and have a "girls night." There's plenty of parking, which is always a benefit. We had made reservations and they sat us promptly at our time. The hostesses were so friendly! Our server was super nice and answered any questions that we had. She was super patient as we took our time to decide on apps and main courses. She was incredibly attentive to our needs even before we had to ask (hard to find these days). The menu was fairly extensive and I loved the variety. The drink list was great as well! We started with the bread our server brought us - dangerous. We accidentally ate the whole basket and she even offered to bring more. We split the margarita pizza and both got a salad. All the food was excellent and came out well presented and fresh! The extra dirty martini and wine were cold which I loved. I thought prices were fair. Service was excellent. I would much rather come here other than the surrounding places in the shoppes. read more

Not impressed at all with this restaurant. The food was underwhelming. The noodles, potato's and fish were over cooked, you could taste the starch and paste in the potato's. We visited melt quite a few times and have never disappointed. We went this weekend and they did not disappoint. Service and food were great. My favorite meal is the scallops - they are always done to perfection. The caprese salad with beefsteak tomatoes is our go to appetizer and it is always so delicious. I was somewhere between a 3 and 4 on this place, but overall felt like it was good enough to return. The space is lovely, but it's freezing inside and service on the bit inexperienced side, but friendly enough. We waited a LONG time between courses and there was some miscommunication with the server not bringing our entrees until we allowed them to take away the appetizer (which we were hoping to hold on to). Still, food was good, so worth a return visit. - Bread basket- nice variety and a good way to stave off hunger. The piece I tried was sweet and nutty, good with a dip in the olive oil. - We started with the grilled octopus ($16). The tentacle pieces were tender and had a nice char. I didn't care for the flavor of the bean ragu and the herb salad was just ok. - Arugula salad ($9.50) with candied walnuts and figs was fine, but nothing special. The shaved parm on top was tasty, though. - Scallops- ($32.50) up to this point I was not overly impressed, but these scallops- wow. 5 large scallops on a creamy mascarpone polenta. I'm sure it was loaded with butter, but it was too good to care about calories. The golden raisins and sauteed greens added nice contrast. - Almond milk panna cotta- good to share. Took my parents for dinner here on a weekday. Quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Our server Taylor was EXCELLENT. Love when the servers are super knowledgeable about the menu. Classy dining space, delicious food options, and tasty cocktails. The lamb was super juicy and that manzo pizza was almost decadent. I'm a chocolate girl, so the torta was what dreams are made of. Get the octopus app, it's char-grilled to perfection, and I loved how refreshing the Ciao Bella cocktail was. The ambience and mood of this place is perfect for date night! It's on the fancier side with prices that match. Decent wine selection but the cheapest glass was $10 for an average pour. The grilled octopus appetizer had a delicious lemon aioli on it and left me wanting more. I was a bit disappointed in the pasta-very plain and standard for the price paid. A friend and I ate dinner here last night. The good: excellent service and beautiful ambience. The food itself was mediocre overall. We had the pasta e fagioli soup. It was very good. I had pizzaiola di pollo (chicken parm) and my friend had veal parm. Both were overcooked, dry and tough. Both had a very stingy amount of tomato sauce. We both had the gluten free pasta. It was undercooked and under seasoned. For dessert I had their blueberry crostata. It was nothing like the server described. It wasn't warm. It was a minute slice of flavorless chewy crust topped with a small amount of blueberry compote. My friend had the dark chocolate cake which was quite good. For the quality of the food, the prices are high. We do not plan to eat here again. read more

What a surprising find. Visiting my home town saw a few reviews of this place and decided to give it a try. It was a delightful meal. Great informative service from Vassili our waiter, who recommended two awesome dishes. We started with a nice anti pasta with delicious meats and cheese. Then we had the recommended pasta bolognese and Osso bucco - two winners. The veal was amazing with a wine reduction to die for. The bolognese was soak your bread in it good! I love the food at Melt and try to go whenever I'm i town. Tonight as usual I sat at the bar and service was amazing as was the food. However, the whole night was spoiled by the constant smell of cigar smoke. On leaving the bar two patrons where smoking cigars on the open patio and the smell was just permeating throughout the bar. While this is your choice to kill yourself, I shouldn't have to be subjected to second hand smoke while eating my food. Management need to remedy this so that patrons don't have to deal with this. read more

Whoa, another trendy spot in the Lehigh Valley? What's more shocking is that this Italian restaurant lies inside a cookie-cutter shopping center. On top of Melt is Level 3 (not to be confused with the Level 3 in Hollywood), a posh lounge. It was crowded the Saturday night we dropped by, so we sat at the bar to avoid a wait. (We only wanted cocktails anyway, so this wasn't a problem.) There was a television near us that was a little distracting, thanks to "Walker, Texas Ranger" playing. Management, please turn off your televisions or make them play eye candy, as CBS doesn't really fit your decor. The staff (bartenders and servers Keira, Dale, and Mike) were outstanding, making us feel welcome and even convincing us to get dessert (the gelato was the cat's pajamas, by the way). While drinks and dessert weren't exactly cheap, I'll be back to try their cooking. read more

There were plenty of tables available so I don't know why they would do this. They never refilled the water glasses and never asked how the meal was. Food: It was just OK. I ordered the pepperoni pizza and confirmed there were going to be Pepperoncinis on it (as the menu states). When the pizza came out, there were none on it. I had to call someone over and ask them to please bring me some...they kept falling off because they weren't part of the cooked pizza. Prices: A little steep for what I got but still reasonable to be in that atmosphere. I'll give it another try and hope this was just a "one off." We came here on a Sunday for dinner and were very, very disappointed with the service. While the hostess was friendly and helpful, our waitress was unfortunately very cold and impolite. She seemed like she was in a bad mood, was oddly passive aggressive if asked any questions, and ended up ruining the evening a bit with her unkind attitude. We ordered the roasted meatballs for an appetizer and the carbonara and spaghetti polpette for dinner. While the roasted meatballs were pretty delicious, both the dinner dishes were alright but nothing spectacular. We ordered the vanilla gelato for dessert and it was very good and just like the gelato we would eat in Rome. The ambiance is absolutely lovely and very large, but after seeing it and experiencing Melt once, I don't think it's worth it to return. read more

Just had my bridal shower here this past weekend and we had an amazing time. The space was beautiful, staff was attentive and the food was fantastic - all my guests left raving. From the getting the initial quote to the cleanup everything went seamlessly. They were very flexible with us adding on more people a few days before. For lunch we had delicious mimosas, 2 salads, 2 types of pasta which were amazing, lemon chicken and 2 desserts all served family style so everyone could have could have a large variety. We enjoyed celebrating Hubbie's birthday at Melt. It was our first time there and we were not disappointed. The service was outstanding, all very friendly and polite, face coverings throughout. Janie was our server and she was GREAT! We enjoyed pre-dinner cocktails, and I highly recommend the Para Mule! We did not feel rushed, which was nice for a change. We enjoyed Caesar salad and the appetizer special, parmesan crusted tortellini bites; piccolo sizes of fusilli, and fettuccine bolognese; filet cooked to perfect requested temp, and the fish special entree. As an added surprise, Chef's choice dessert was a Happy Birthday gift from the restaurant!! We will definitely come back. It's a bit if a distance for us, but worth the ride. read more

I like Melt a lot! I know it's a favorite of my parents - it's a really nice dining option in the Lehigh Valley and very popular. FOOD The food is never bad when I come here. The daily specials are unique and inventive and much needed to separate this restaurant from other places in the area. I'll start with the bread; it's always delicious and freshly made throughout the day. My favorite is the olive bread; served with olive oil for dipping, it's a great way to start the meal. Today we decided to order mainly from the specials. My mom and I had The Wild Tasmanian Sea Trout (similar to an Arctic Char) and it was delicious. It was served over a heirloom tomato salad, which was seasoned with a white balsamic dressing; it was very delicious. My sister had the penne pasta with shrimp, kale, tomatoes, and parmesan special, which was also delicious. My other sister went with a menu staple, the fusilli with basil pesto, parmesan, asapargus, chicken and potatoes. It was good, but the potatoes made the dish a little too starchy. My dad, also choosing a menu staple, got the chicken parmesan and it was a delicious, very healthy serving that was very authentic. EXPERIENCE I think the big reason this place is so popular is because 1) it's a nice restaurant that's great for special occasions 2) they have great outdoor seating during the summer and 3) LEVEL 3. Level 3 is the rooftop bar that's open when it's warm and it's a great space. They have an indoor bar that can be utilized throughout the year and then during the summer the doors open up into the outdoor space, which has cabana-type seating and a DJ on some weekends. Beyond Level 3, the waitstaff and bartenders are always friendly, courteous, and attentive and the management is very mindful of walking the dining floor to check on the patrons.
