Food was pretty good , the bowls could've looked better but nothing that really detracts from how good the food is, and to my understanding it's the usual bowl used in ramyun or soup dishes anyway. The employee/s were accommodating, the booths were comfortable and the table wasn't wobbling or anything. They were constantly playing kpop songs so that can be a plus or a minus depending on the customer but it does fit the theme of the food they're serving. Lots of parking. Cute, very clean place in shopping center in Rocklin. While I've eaten a lot of Korean food, these were not super familiar dishes to me, but it was fun trying them. My favorite was the crispy chicken curry. The chicken was well cooked and the curry was deep and flavorful. The Kimchi Fried Rice was a bit disappointing, I ordered it with spam and they were really tiny chunks, and it didn't have a lot of favor. The chicken gyoza were too crispy and also not very flavorful. I don't think I have ever left gyoza uneaten before. The place was large and almost completely empty when we were there. Saw an ad on social media for their "wing it Wednesday" in which you can get their yangnyum chicken or Korean fried chicken wings for $1 each when you order at least 10 wings. I have never been here so I decided to give it a try. The wings were cooked fresh, crispy and flavorful with a sticky sweet and mildly spicy sauce. Two of the wings I got were small but the rest were a good size. I have had Korean fried chicken multiple times before and their fried chicken was delicious! Getting it for $1 per wing was a steal! All staff are nice and friendly! I did not know what food to order especially a drink. She recommended some items and told me how spicy the item was. I decided to share with my hubby the two person dak-galbi and we did not finish it! We didn't finish it because it was a lot! It was so good! Not too spicy since there was melted gooey cheese on top. It came with 2 small bowl of rice. I ate most of the Tteokbokki (rice cake) with the chicken so I didn't eat much of my rice. I also ordered corn cheese because why not? It's corn cheese! Lol. Melting Grill is a relatively new restaurant in the Rocklin area and I've had it bookmarked since I first saw it on social media! Here's what we ordered: Nitro Thai Tea ($5.50) Dak-Galbi w/ cheese ($15) Yangnyum chicken ($20) We ordered the half-size for the Dak-Galbi and we're glad we did because it's sooo flavorful and heavy! We ended up taking a good portion of it home. It has chicken, rice cakes, potatoes, carrots, and you can add cheese for an extra $2. We forgot to add the cheese when we ordered but they let us ask for it anyway, free of charge. How sweet! This definitely hits the spot when you want the kalbijjim from Daeho but can't make it out to the bay! We did feel like our Dak-Galbi didn't have a lot of chicken. At some points it felt like we had to treasure hunt for it. Maybe because we got the half size serving? Looking at some of the other Dak-Galbi photos, it seems like other guests received way more. It didn't matter too much because we also ordered chicken wings, but I think it's worth noting. We ordered the 12-piece Yangnyum chicken but we probably should've gotten a half order of that too. The wings were crispy despite being covered in the thick yangnyum sauce! They were sweet with just enough spice to get my nose running. The restaurant is located adjacent from the Movie Theaters off of Blue Oaks Blvd in Rocklin next to the FedEx and by Pink Martini, Crazy Sushi and Pho Hot. I typically order a GALBITANG when I go to Korean restaurants and so I got it To-Go, which only took 15 minutes for our order to be done. At first, I felt like salt was lacking, but I believe they don't have msg in the soup, so it was lacking that umami flavor a bit, but I'm totally fine with that, since I'm trying to limit my salt intake. We also tried the CHICKEN WINGS, which I thought would be super spicy because of the red sauce, but it wasn't at all. It was generously sauced, which next time, I would ask for the SAUCE ON THE SIDE OF THE CHICKEN WINGS because by the time I got home, my wings were a little soggy. I've been watching and waiting for this restaurant to open. The signage has been in place for a long time. I thought fondue, based on the name.... Then when some advanced materials were posted in the windows it was clear that it was going to be a Korean fusion kind of spot. Well, they opened a few weeks ago, and we finally went to give them a try. Boy am I glad we did. The owner was working the register, and was super customer service focused, answering all of our questions and making suggestions. The menu is a bit limited at this time, after he hires some additional staff he plans on expanding the offerings. What they have now is really good, though. We ordered a Bulgogi Gyoza appetizer, MG Wings and Korean Fried Rice. The wings were off the hook!!! They were absolutely scrumptious! The rice was great, and the gyoza was really tasty, too. My wife had taro milk tea with boba and I ordered "Sunshine" to drink, a blend of pineapple, mango, passion fruit, and tea. The drinks were off the chain! I can't wait to see what new offerings are added to the menu over time. But, I can't imagine not ordering at least an appetizer sized serving of those freaking awesome wings! Korean Fusion Restaurant [Rocklin CA] I have been waiting for this new restaurant to open since I saw signs up. This unit has gone through two shaved snow dessert shops in the past and I was always curious of "what's next." I stopped by and came in solo today for a quick lunch before heading to the movie theater at the Blue Oaks Town Center. I ordered the Fly-Rice. Five pieces of YangNyum Chicken and Fried Rice. The YangNyum Chicken (5-pc) were deep fried chicken wings with Korean sweet chili sauce and green onions. I was afraid the wings would be spicy but I really enjoyed them and was not spicy for me at all. I love the crunch of the wings. They could add a little more rice to the meal though. For me, there were more chicken than rice and not evenly ratio'd out. Overall, finger licking good AND... they also provided a moist towelette for after which I appreciated! This is a counter-service restaurant. The very nice and friendly owner, Thomas, asked how everything was and we chatted for a bit. He is also the owner of Koja Kitchen. If you enjoy the food at Koja Kitchen in two locations (Rocklin and K Street in Sacramento) thank Thomas for bringing it to our area... this is a Bay Area concept. Oohh those special gourmet sandwiches infused with a unique combination of Korean & Japanese (KO-JA) flavors in crispy garlic rice buns... oops! I digress!! Vampire Penguin has transformed in to a Korean style quick serve with boba and fruit teas. Now known as Melting Grill. The Dak-Galbi was absolutely delicious! Marinated chunks of chicken with cubes of potatoes and veggies in a sweet and not too spicy sauce. With a Korean rice sticks, it's very well balanced. The Yangnyum Chicken was yummiliciously tasty! Sticky sweet and spicy with that Korean fried chicken crunch.... YUM!!! I got us a few drinks to go also. The Tropical Heaven was filled with peach and mango juices, with pieces of citrus and mango... yummy! The Coffee Boba was robust with coffee flavor and salted cream cheese, and tender boba on the bottom. And to top it all off, my server, Chen. They gave me a 10% opening discount which was a most welcome surprise. I also got more 10% off cards as I was leaving. Told them that a Korean restaurant in this area is most needed. Crispy Chicken and yellow curry over rice, which, honestly I wasn't impressed with - wouldn't recommend it. Drink menu all looked good, was hard to decide which drink to try, but I can definitely vouch for the Dragon Power and Mango Lime Spritzer. Very impressed with the flavor in the drinks. But the star of the show, the Dak-Galbi, will change your life. I was pleasantly surprised and happy we chose to try the restaurant. The first impression was the space was nicely decorated and finished. Along with that, it was clean and inviting. While the menu is a "soft opening" menu, there were some interesting options, and I had a kimchi omelet. I was introduced to these in Oahu and I had really high expectations, and honestly had instant order regret because I thought I was setting myself up for a let down. Nope! It came out served with a wonderful salad that had a very nice dressing. The omelet was delicious and I was quite pleased! Some of the items on the menu can sell out because they are not prepared through ordering so be aware of that. From my perspective, it means there is some TLC and authentic recipes going on! MG Wings with its white sauce are delectable. Sticky, sweet, and crunchy. I think MG stands for Melting Grill. I imagine the Yangnyum Wings might be just as good. I like the pricing and portion size of 4 wings. The green onions or scallions enhance the flavor and freshness. I tried the Kimchi Fried Rice Omelet and Taro Milk Tea with Boba. Omelet is more suitable for brunch than dinner. A fun, lighter meal. I would call it more a perfectly shaped egg crepe than an omelet. I was happy to discover a little cheese in the omelet. Taro milk tea has real chunks of taro in it, which was the draw for me. I wish the taro were more blended into the drink and wasn't dominated by the milk tea flavor. Big milk tea portion sizes. I ordered one short rib or Galbi as an add-on and got to try a little Galbitang broth as a bonus. The broth is so flavorful!!! I had a fun conversation with one of the business partners running the store and was told that the broth was stewed for 8 hours and has no MSG!!! Not a commercial broth...it's homemade. By the way, none of the food here contains MSG. I was also informed by the business partner that the house coffee is Nitro Cold Brew!!! Apparently, one day, this word spread and the coffee sold out. Customers noticed the foam top. The business partner also is connected with KoJa Kitchen, so if you like that restaurant, you'll appreciate this place too. Employees are super friendly and attentive. Nice, lovely people. The store is short-staffed currently because of the lack of workers from the pandemic, so it might help to call in your order. The tables do have a QR code to allow you to order. Awesome Asian fusion restaurant, great portions, attentive workers. The portions were great for the price. We had the Dak Galbi, beef brisket fries, milky ramen, and the pork belly masubi. Everything tasted amazing and nicely flavored. My only suggestion to them is to use less rice for the potbelly masubi--because I feel like it's too much rice(imo). Also, I cant forget about their hot sauce! It's a very unique hot sauce which is a tamarind based hot sauce that's sweet, savory, yet packs a punch! There aren't too many Korean restaurant options in the area so there's a 50/50 chance I may come back. Food was not terrible, but wasn't like the best where I would crave to come back. Sadly, I wasn't too impressed. Location is not an issue and neither was parking. Restaurant is small for casual dining. It was empty when we walked in but there were a couple dashers picking up some meals. The booths were dirty. The chairs and also the tables have not been wiped cause they all had food crumbs. In fairness, there was only one staff member in the front who was waiter, cashier, and made the drinks, and only one cook when we went. How I knew, because I heard him apologizing for those who came to order to go or picking up when it wasn't ready. We didn't try out any of the boba drinks. But the food was just, OK. We ordered the ground beef over rice which I don't recommend, the BBQ beef rib over rice was pretty good, portion size was big and ribs were flavorful and tender however I would've liked mine with a bit more of a char on the outside, taste more like it was BBQ'd. We used to love going here, but our recent experiences haven't been pleasant. The last time we did dine-in, customer service wasn't so great. The only available table was occupied by a server on break, & when he was asked by another server to move, the server on break told him (in front of our party) that we could sit at the tables behind him (which still had dirty dishes). Based on a 4.5 star review on YELP, I decided to give this place a try myself on 10.16.2022. I always drove by the restaurant when I go to the gym. I never heard of this place before, but just seen that this restaurant was added to this plaza from a couple years back. After reviewing the restaurant thru YELP today, I showed my husband all the "lovely photos" of their food that made us curious to finally try them out. They close at 8p on Sundays & we arrived at 7:30p so the only choice we had was to order the food to go. I already had the pork belly masubi in mind, I was also thinking of getting the kimchi omlette, but then the female worker that was there that night had suggested other items that she felt would suit me since I am supposed to me staying away from spicy foods. One of the items she suggested was the curry dishes and even said to get the TOFU dish, as she said it's very delish and worth it! My husband and my son ordered the curry chicken. I decided to order both of my daughters the ground beef over rice then we added the pork belly masubi last. When we got home, we tried the curry dish 1st. Everything was packed perfectly and the curry had its own container, while we also had coleslaw on the side for the curry dishes, which was the 1st for me since I never had Korean food this way. In the end I can say the restaurant is mid. I feel it's between Ramen 101 to L&L Hawaiian BBQ quality. The pork belly masubi was a little dry. NOT EVEN SPICY AS DESCRIBED. The curry actually did have some spice kick to it (which I was told originally that their curry was NOT). The tofu was cooked to perfection with the crunch. The ground beef i felt was very skimp upon opening the container. There was more rice then any meat for $9. Basically I am paying for a scoop or empty carbs with barely any protein on the plate. As far as quality for Korean food, I don't feel it's authentic and also I would NOT give it 4 stars for this restaurant. I felt the price of the food was not high quality to rate it 4 or 5. It felt like americanized fast food to be honest and I am little disappointed. Especially since I would of expected the pork belly masubi to have it juicy with flavor for pork belly. It was a bit dry. At least my family and I tried this place and NOW know what kind of food they serve. I DO LIKE that their tofu was cooked to perfection (crunch on outside/soft on the inside). The prices and serving sizes were reasonable and affordable. The MG wings were our favorite. Mostly sweet with a little bit of spice that even our 4 year old could handle. The wife and I stopped by after getting some poke nearby and we are glad we did Atmosphere/Staff: The staff are super nice and the atmosphere is very much like being at an old friends house. Food: super tasty. So far we've come back 3 times. Galbitang is the star of the menu. The beef soup is legit amazing in cold days or after a night of a few drinks. The MG wings are our second favorite. Very yummy and great to share with friends. The naked wings are fine but those are for your friends who don't like "spices." The Fly-Rice with Yangyum wings is another shareable item. We tried the Dak Galbi today.... AMAZING. Drinks: standard boba fair with some standouts. Lychee spritzer is refreshing and fun. Oh my....... I've been waiting for this location to open up since it's near my work. Today I happened to peak in and they have a soft opening for to go orders. The dining area is beautiful and extremely clean. Plenty of tables with neutral colored decor. TV monitors surround the dining area for a great place to be visually entertained while you eat. I ordered a Kimchee fried rice omelet, YangNyum wings and MG wings with a Taro boba drink. I know what you are thinking...Kimchi is a fermented cabbage and radish dish that may be an acquired taste. Maybe not something you would think of as your first choice for an omelet filling but...I'm here to tell you it may be the best omelet I've ever had. The fried rice had a sweet and slightly spicy taste to it and combined with the sauce topping tasted AMAZING. it's a must try dish. I also ordered both types of wings YangNyum chicken with a white glaze (slightly more spicy) and MG wings were both amazing. The sauces would normally make wings soggy but because it's Korean wings which are extra crispy, the texture was just right. They are addicting and you MUST try these wings when you visit. The boba drink had pearls and was wonderful. The owners of this restaurant are extremely nice, place an emphasis on the quality of the ingredients and it shows in the flavor. A new Korean comfort food restaurant and boba tea shop in my neck of the woods, gotta check it out ofcourse. I happen to have chosen one of the hottest days ofcourse. But to my surprise the honey boba milk tea was spot on and hit the spot. I also ordered Korean beef over rice and Dak Gar-bi which is basic translation to "chicken bbq" for two on the menu. The dish came with succulent chicken pieces, spices in Korean gochujang and sweetness with rice cakes + (cheese) can't go wrong with cheese. It was scrumptious. I'm looking forward to trying the Garbi-tang (bone broth soup) and kimchi fried rice. read more

Food was ok. We were the only customers in the restaurant on Friday lunch time. Makes me wonder why?

Disappointed to say the least. The food was Mediocre at best. I would give the Yangyum Chicken wings were pretty good. But not the best wings in town. The Chicken Curry was bland. Bland curry? Never thought those words went together. The salad was cut up cabbage with a smidge of dressing. Boring. I will not return! read more

Yangnyum chicken was next with a spicy sweet sauce but chicken was on the lean side. The curry did not pack much of a punch. Garlic noodles were a little water logged. So this was my second time trying this spot out. First time was when they just opened and the food was very under seasoned. But I thought growing pains, I'll give them another chance recently. So the drink Lychee Berry Spritzer tasted like it only had berry in it, no lychee at all. It was still nice but not what I ordered. So specifically asked if the chicken wings would have taste if I got them without the sauce, like fried chicken. Because I did not want a sweet sauce. She said yes, so I ordered them, the most tasteless chicken I had, they don't even put salt or pepper. Lastly the spicy creamy salmon for a whopping $18. It was not spicy and just no taste, way overpriced for what u get. Looks like they have some menu items that sound delicious but that's all, they just can't deliver the flavor! read more

Our server was great but the food was okay. The wings were delicious but the rest of the items did not meet any expectations. The ramen lacked flavor, broth was bland, and not enough. Cajun shrimp and rice didn't have much flavor. Not a place I recommend. read more
