They were so nice to work with over the phone and so accommodating in their delivery of the cookies by going above and beyond at the last minute. It was an excellent transaction from the day I called in my cake order (4 days in advance), to the day I picked up my cake! The phone conversation was pleasant and professional and on the day I picked up the cake they were just as friendly and professional. The cake was a 2 tier cake with marble swirl at the bottom and chocolate on the second tier and whipped icing. The cake was beautiful, moist and delicious. I purchased a few things from the display window to get a better taste of what the birthday cake will be like. They were dry and had a Grocery store (HEB & Kroger) taste. I've been to this bakery a few times when I'm in the area and just need a quick snack to tide me over. I find it a bit odd though that they are usually out of a lot of the items in their display cases - that doesn't seem like the best business practice to me personally. The pigs in blankets (not kolaches) are fair to middling taste wise... The cookies are OK but not mind blowing. The brownie bites though are delicious. They are very fudgey and thick the way brownies should be. When I asked for a Coke, I was surprised to find it basically frozen in a can much like a soda slushie. I'll go back when I'm in the area for snacks and those brownie bites but wouldn't go out of my way to do so. read more

Tried them for the 1st time today, I got a mango cream slush & a small chocolate angel food cake, personal size, it looked really cute. While the girl made my slush I looked through their cake catalog...AND Isn't anyone going to mention their roach poop covered catalog??! The pics are inserted into plastic sleeves w/in a binder and there was obvious roach poop trapped in there! I ALMOST mentioned it to the girl but didn't, that's such an easy fix & it made me stop touching everything when I saw it. The slush was delicious but the cake was completely soggy on the bottom!! I don't know if they didn't allow it to cool down before wrapping it but it made the whole thing smell like WET DOG. Not even kidding, I tried to eat the top but the strange smell made it impossible. I threw it away, it had NO taste anyway, if it had been any more than $1.50 I would have gone back to ask for a refund. WASTE! 2 stars for the delicious roachy mango slush. read more

We went in last night about 8pm for coffee and cupcake. The manager waited on us. This is the first time we had ever been in here. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the coffee was good. We split a carrot cake cupcake and it was very good. Moist as if it had been made recently. Not stale, like occurs at some bakeries. They had a large selection, as well. Food first: The chocolate cupcake was dry and over baked. The icing was super dense it fell off of the cupcake and retained its disc shape after picking it up. The chocolate chip cookie was decent. Beverages: The plain latte was delicious. Hot but not burned milk with enough stand alone flavor. Their boba tea was terribly bland with very little tapioca. If you have never had milk tea before then I suppose this is a safe starter for those wary of too much foreign flavor but I was sadly underwhelmed. The service: Friendly, although several customers walked in and left without greeting because the kids were mixing flavors and eating behind the counter. We were lucky. Overall: If I were a teenager and had a friend behind the counter I could see it. Very casually dressed for handling food/drink (loose long hair, short shorts). We recently got the wedding cake and groom's cake for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding from Memorial Bakery. We had a rough start as we were told on the phone that we didn't have to schedule an appointment for a consult, but once we got past that glitch, everything was great. Richard could not have been nicer and more accomodating and when the cakes were delivered to the reception, they were spectacular! They looked EXACTLY like we hoped they would and they tasted even better. The prices were very reasonable as wedding cakes go and the process was very easy. I highly recommend Memorial Bakery.
