Not a bad place at all. Looking at the reviews here saying management or the lady at the counter is rude, GUYS; expect the same kind of treatment at any other fast food restaurant in China. The people here are not being rude or mean to you because you have a bazillion questions about the menu. That's just the way a lot of Chinese are. If you're looking for basic Chinese food at a fraction of the cost you normally pay, then come here. Expect to wait a few minutes after ordering (tip: order online) as this place is more of a popular takeout place rather than dining in. Stopped in yesterday for a small take out order, was greeted by the rudest women ever in a restaurant. We wanted to look at a menu quickly before placing an order, she told us she was so hungry and needed to eat and to get her when ready. When we told her we were ready to order she slammed down her utensil and came over. Gave our order and she was disgusted we only asked for a few appetizers. Was rudely asked if "that was it" and "for here it to go", apparently we didn't answer fast enough because she then yelled at us "for here or to go". We swiftly canceled the order and turned to leave with her yelling at us some more saying "Oh my god" and a few other nasty things to follow. Do yourself a favor, order somewhere else. Plenty of quality Chinese food from Hong Kong Kitchen and Asian Bistro, from people who are happy for your business and believe in customer service. I'm done tolerating the rudeness of "Dragon Lady," the crazy woman at the front counter. Today, she yelled at every phone and walk-in customer while I watched, patiently waiting (20+ minutes) for a single-item order. The customers were quietly talking about her. In our house, we've always joked about whether she was 'on' or 'off' her meds, based on her behavior. But today was beyond tolerance. One gentleman's order had an egg roll, but he had ordered crab rangoon. When he nicely (and somewhat timidly) asked for the correct item, she yanked the egg roll off the order with tongs -- tossing it onto another order -- and then threw the crab rangoon onto his meal. Keep in mind he had started eating from his food before she relocated the egg roll to another order. After 20 minutes, I finally worked up the spunk to politely ask about mine, and she predictably jumped all over me. She got an earful back ... I told her quite loudly, for everyone to hear, it was my last order there, ever. They need different help in the front of the house. Someone who is pleasant and doesn't curse at customers in Chinese would be a good start. I've worked in a commercial kitchen and that is no way to treat customers nor handle their food. We once bit into a metal staple in a Peking ravioli. When we took it back, she did give us a refund, and blamed it on the 3rd-party provider of the filling ... and it was a while before we patronized them again. Now, I am truly done. Period. Finito. DO NOT GIVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT YOUR MONEY! Food quality is good, but the "SERVICE" is less than acceptable. The owner of the restaurant has a serious attitude problem. When I couldn't remember exactly what my boyfriend ordered for take out, I called him to check. She GRABBED MY PHONE out of my hand and said "I talk"!!! I found her behavior as a human and business owner repulsive. She raised her voice and yelled at me loudly to pay. Another customer waiting for their food made eye contact with me and whispered "I'm sorry" as she grabbed her food and left. While I waited for my order, another customer had an issue with theirs. The owner raised her voice at this customer and dismissed the customer saying "you cannot yell at me like this". The owner responded "people no complain on food" and customer replied "but I complain about your service and I'm sure others in this room agree with me!" I go here quite often. No, the food is nothing to write home about, but the portions are generous, the flavor is decent, the menu is large and the food is hot. While the lighting and the "decor" are not top notch, their are many seating options available, they have papers to read, their is a television, it's your average Chinese food place. I've spoken to her numerous times, and a short sighted person will be quick to judge, but see, the thing is, if you are consistently kind to people in customer service, they will be kind to you in return. I realize many people who review places on yelp, base their entire review, on one bad experience during the busiest time of day, usually around dinnertime, and keep in mind she is always doing the work of 3 people, (Do you do the work of 3 people at your job? Be honest) and if you haven't noticed, customers are not the most patient people. They do not treat "The help" like people at all, but like servants, they talk down to them, as though they are children. I've been a customer there for years, and she smiles and remembers my name every time, because I am kind to her. You can't expect a 5 star experience, at a take out Chinese place in a strip mall, but you have a lot of control over the experience you do have, if you improve your attitude and practice some patience and kindness. We order from there 5 or 6 times per year. Have never had a bad experience or any rudeness shown by any of the help. Plenty of food, flavored good and a pleasant atmosphere.
