Well there's good and bad at this location... The bad is that they used to carry books and movies and I remember picking up older computer games from time to time the moment they stopped all of this is the moment they completely became awful at least in my mind I would find my documentaries I like from time to time they had a decent selection of movie things. The good is they have some decent sausage pieces and cheapest kitty litter under 14 and I guess ok priced fans for those who have no air conditioning in certain rooms and Bins I don't go here for anything else really... the bad somewhat over shadows the good though... read more

This Menards has almost anything home related you can think of. It is the Target of home stores - I recently went in for a few things and ended up coming out with a full cart! The reason for this: great prices. I was really impressed with the variety of home goods available and the prices being so reasonable. The customer service was mixed - I had a few bad experiences asking for the location of items, as the store is so big, and the organization doesn't necessarily make sense. However, there were some employees whose helpfulness made up for the few bad experiences (thanks, Dakota!). From pet food and care items, to home organization/storage, to cleaning supplies, paint, gardening/outdoor, and everything in between - do yourself a favor and check out this Menards. None of the big box DIY megastores can compare to the knowledgeable help I used to get at my neighborhood ACE hardware store, but that's sort of like comparing Mastodons and modern Asian elephants. There's no use wishing for a return of the long extinct. I have been just completely stymied by the exhaust vent set up for my clothes dryer, first I got ducts that were too small, then too big, then I didn't get the circular clamps in the right size. I would have preferred a helpful ACE hardware man (or woman) to have edified me in just one visit, but as a second choice, I'll take the easy exchange and in-store credit they gave me here over three visits (and counting, I still don't have the right size circular clamps. This place is terrible in customer service. I cannot get around the store without an electric cart. Today I tried and the thing suddenly stopped working right at the place where the people get into the store. It was supposed to be fully charged. A man pushed the cart & me out of the way. I tried everything I could think of to get it to work. Nothing. This is not the first time. Meantime, people are staring at me and are telling me to get another one (the one remaining also didn't work I tried it when I came into the store), I called the manager to get me out of there. Nothing -- so I called a second time and finally got some help. It was embarrassing. It was awful. I came to BUY things and couldn't because the carts are junk and Menards doesn't do anything about it. There are plenty of customers - who are blocked from the store because they need a way to get around the store: sports injuries, loss of limbs from combat, COVID, and work accidents, joint replacements, arthritis, and all kinds of mobility problems. Maybe temporary ones like a broken leg. Maybe something permanent. I used to prefer Menards. Home Depot has working carts and lots of them. Guess where I will go to spend money? Grocery shopping at Menards? Yep. I guess this is one of the few times I could compare myself to Parks and Rec character Ron Swanson. Ron frequently visits a place called "food and stuff", where he can get both his hardware, labor intensive supplies while picking up something for dinner. That's exactly what I did the other day at Menards. I needed a list of items, such as an outdoor light bulb, vinyl siding hanging clips, some wire splitters and cutters and some groceries. I could make two separate stops. Or, I could browse their grocery section and see what they have. Boom. Got them all at Menards. I have to say, some of the prices they have at Menards were actually better than your usual everyday grocery stores. Not to mention some of the sales they had that day were pretty good, too. Jacks pizza 5 for $10 made my son happy as that's he and his friends go-to when they're over for lunch. Also if you're a Pringle's junkie like myself, they're cheaper than pick n save. Only thing you won't find here is produce, meat and deli stuff. With deals and prices like that, it's safe to say I'll probably get some pantry odds and ends when I need hardware odds and ends, which is most of the time. read more

Complaint for the month. I purchased a $3,100 custom window from Menard's in Oak Creek Wisconsin. It came with different hardware on the inside, and NO screens. Menard's is blaming the manufacturer and tells me 3 more weeks to get the screens, oddly enough, just in time for fall weather. AND, of course they're blaming COVID-19! I've been reading every article about COVID-19 and I don't recall a single occurrence of someone contracting COVID-19 from a screen!!! I called Menard's corporate and was only able to leave a voice mail. Apparently, their Customer Service does not include speaking to someone in management! Overview - Hated this place as a kid, LOVE it as a grown man! Customer Service 4.5/5 We do about 95% of our house repair/remodel shopping at Menards - specifically this location. There is so much inventory and in my opinion quality selections. We've purchased all of our paint, hardware, countertops, sinks, and other random stuff here and loved it all! One of my favorite things about this store is their return policy, especially on paint. Don't like what you got, take it back no questions asked! I've had a couple of times where the paint I selected wasn't quite right for what we were looking for, and Menards accepted the opened can return no problem. Most times customer service is on point and super helpful. This location is managed well and I'll continue to shop here for a long time! read more

I get places are short staffed and trying to do their best, but can 1 just 1 employee open their mouth to say hello or thank you. When we checked out the cashier said nothing. When we drove to the back to get our yard dirt and mulch the girl in the booth said nothing. I mean really not one word. How is this even possible. If I could give a negative star I would have. This is not the first time this has happened at this store. Lesson learned. And forget anyone asking if you need help loading. Sad, very sad. read more

Highly disappointed in their lack of customer service.. We went to purchase a $250 grill from them and wanted the floor model because we didnt have the tools to assemble the model at home. They refused to sell it to us because "they didnt want to assemble another unit". We spend a LOT of money with that business and I am completely shocked by the sheer laziness of that statement made by the associate at the store AND by the manager who answered the phone, Ryan, when I called to see if this was true. Which, Ryan, the manager confirmed, they are in fact to lazy to rebuild another model for the floor to satisfy a regular weekly customer. I called to verify if this was in fact true because Home Depot, Lowes, AND even Walmart are willing to sell us floor model grills. Outside of the Ace on Highway 100, this is probably my favorite hardware store in the area. Unlike the Ace on Highway 100, this store is huge! Anything you need, hardware, garden, home improvement stuff, any project you have to tackle, all of supplies can be bought here. It's a huge selection of stuff, I've never have come here for something and left empty handed. While the workers here aren't as knowledgeable as the workers at the Highway 100 Ace, they're still pretty well versed in everything home improvement, and if they can't help you, they'll find someone who can. It's easy to find workers on the floor, and they're happy to help. Speaking of the workers, can someone please tell them to slow down just a little bit? I asked a guy on the floor if they had kiddie pools, he said "Oh yeah we do!" and proceeded to power walk so fast I was jogging (no lie) to keep up with him. Maybe the pre-employment drug test should also test for performance enhancing drugs. The garden area here is insane. Why does Menard's have a grocery section? Does anyone actually shop for any kind of food here, outside of your normal hardware store staples like pretzels and jerky? Have shopped here two Black Fridays in a row for house items we needed and it is a zoo!!!.....but rock bottom prices. I like the outdoor garden center area. Store is laid out pretty much like others. Lots of variety for everyone in the family. You will definitely find something even if you don't need it. Menards on 27th used to be a bit of a dump. Home Depot came. Then Menards built a beautiful new store across the street. Then Lowes came. There's also a real hardware store, True Value, in the Tri City plaza. And Farm and Fleet is just a little ways down Rawson. When you're looking for selection, this is absolutely the best corner of town to be in. You can hop stores very easily looking for stuff. I find each store has its own strengths and weaknesses. When I was looking for new shop lights, I found exactly what I wanted at Menards, but neither HD nor Lowes had quite what I wanted, for example. The Menards is a typical Menards, with a slightly odd interior layout. As with most Menards stores, it strays a little towards being a hardware store in addition to a home improvement store. There are some benefits to a locally-owned regional chain, I guess. read more

This was hands down the worst shopping experience I ever had (except for Richard but we'll get to him later). I ordered a few items online for order pickup. First problem, nothing on the order tells you where to pick it up. After parking and asking inside, I am directed to the pick up counter around the back of the store. I am the only one back there and the man tells me that even though I ordered it for pick up (and received an email that told me it was ready to be picked up) I had to go get the 300lbs of materials myself??? I am a 5'2 woman and ordered it to pick up because I knew i needed help?? But, okay I'm no wimp I try to go and get it because zero help is offered. The man at the order desk gave me TERRIBLE instructions and misinformation. He told me my stuff was in the garden center and that I needed to leave the gated area to go get it. The security guy at the gate (who was very nice) said "why did he just not load this into your car for you?" Great question. Again, I try not to be a problem, so I head into the Garden Center (which is closed by the way, so i have to move my car again to walk in the front door) and no one is there. not one employee. So I go back to the order desk and he says why did you take your car back through the gate? Because, sir, you told me too. Again, this man does not help me or lead me to where my stuff is, but gestures in the general direction. un.cool. I go to where he's pointing and finally find my product (that I find out not surprisingly I cannot lift). This is when my guardian angel Richard appears and not only helps load my stuff onto a cart for me, but genuinely apologizes for the run around, takes my items to the front for me and helped me load it into my car. Which is not his job, that is the order pick up peoples job. Long story not so short, order pick up is a F***ing joke. They sent me on a wild goose chase for something that should have been ready and waiting and loaded into my car. What if I would have been a grandma? What if I would have had a crying baby in the back seat or been in a wheel chair ? How can you advertise this service and then not provide it as described or be at all helpful once I have to get it myself? You owe me my entire lunch hour plus a half hour of work for picking this up. RIDICULOUS. (except Richard and the security guard you guys were great) read more

DO NOT THINK YOU CAN CALL THIS STORE AND PURCHASE SOMETHING AS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE, AND LET THE GIFT RECEIVER PICK IT UP. They make the person picking up the item have your credit card for confirmation. So, if you live far away, and would like to get someone something that has a Menards near them, good luck. (What's the difference between calling and giving my info over the phone, or purchasing things online nowadays? Get your act together Menards!) I called about purchasing a hot water heater over the phone for my parents. The purpose of this was that I live in Pewaukee and could not come to the store to get the hot water heater for them. They said okay, took my card info down, and then proceeded to call me back a while later to say that my father needed my credit card on him in order to pick up the hot water heater. Well, what the heck am I giving you my info ahead of time for? It was pointless, inconvenient and on top of it, the girl I talked to when I called to cancel it was short and rude and definitely not apologetic. She was in the office. I work in customer service, and I know there are things you are not allowed to do because of corporate rules. We went to this store because my husband needed a specific tool that isn't available at other stores. I really liked the variety of things sold here. I could look at Christmas stuff while he looked at boring tools. Everything was great until after checking out when we were accused of stealing!!! Really embarrassing and insulting. On 2 separate occasions. I took advantage of the big 11% rebate Menard's offered. Firstly, no one will ever remind you of it, unless you ask. My first purchase was approximately 400.00...when 3 months passed, I called the store. I was told that the rebates were not handled by them. An outside source had to be contacted. When I called, they had NO record of either rebate. I said "screw it" and vowed not to shop there again. Low and behold after 5 more weeks has passed, I finally received the first one...that was over 4 months total! The second one never came! They should issue that rebate on the spot!... but If you have to mail it in...what's a reasonable amount of time to wait? Certainly not 1/4 of a year! By the way, the rebate can only be used in the store, and frankly, I believe by law you cannot label that a true rebate! Rebates are generally able to be cashed into legal tender, not an "in store" credit. Regardless, their 11% rebate program stinks! Home Depot & Lowes here I come! read more

Not cool Menards! We bought new bamboo flooring for our house (living room, kitchen, dining room, and hallways) on 4/9/2016. We were told that they were on back order and should be in by 4/24. Well that date came and passed and we still hadn't heard anything at all about the floors so we decided to call and see what's up. Turns out the floors arrived at the store of 4/13! That was nearly 3 weeks ago. The flooring we bought said the wood needs two weeks in your house to acclimate to the climate before install, which means we could've had them installed this weekend if someone had just let us know they were in, like they said they would. Now we have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get them installed. When asked why we never got a call they said, "we don't call but you should've gotten an email." Nope, never got one of those either. Really not amused. We spent a lot of money there and should've at least been given the courtesy of a call or email, especially when they'd just been sitting there for weeks. read more
