I came to this baskin Robbins for the first time ever on Tuesday this week. The place is well kept. The employee with pink hair was really nice. She gave me time to look at the menu since I've never been to a baskin robbins. She suggested a banana split and brownie Sunday's are very popular. I picked the Sunday, she was very sweet, patient and had a smile on her face the whole time. I recommend this establishment. They treat you with kindness. I will recommend 100%. Whoever works the night shift isn't very friendly. For context we arrived at 9 PM one hour before closing which I feel like is a reasonable amount of time. When we order a milkshake, we were told they were out of milk. Which is understandable, I get it some times things happen. But i'm giving them one star because after they were already out of milk, we tried to order ice cream with toppings which we were told they're "not doing that right now". I guess they didn't want to have to clean up the topping station. I'm starting to believe that they weren't out of milk and they just didn't want to clean the blenders. I visited the store tonight with my 2 year old daughter. I checked online before leaving the house and the website stated the store closed at 10pm. We arrived about 8:45pm. After ordering ice cream for myself and an active 2 year old, I began to take a chair out to sit down. The girl that rung us up told me, oh you can't take the chairs down, we're about to close. I said oh, do you close at 9? She replied no but we put the chairs up at 8:30. I don't like confrontation, so I proceeded back outside and tried to sit on the bench and eat ice cream while feeding my 2 year old her ice cream. (Mind you, it was still about 90 degrees outside here in Houston.) I can't even explain how upset and unprofessional the young lady was. There were 2 girls working, but the one who I interacted with had pink hair...I didn't get her name. I love this location because they always have pre-made cakes ready in case you forget any special occasion, such as a birthday, anniversary, or mother's day/Father's Day! I've always gotten their pecan praline cake and it is always a hit! The Oreo cake is also equally fantastic! They also have options to customize their cakes if you order them a few days in advance! Great place to get a large variety of ice cream flavors, located in Rice Village close to Rice University. There are plenty of places to get ice cream in the village, and this is one of the more affordable places ($4.19 for one scoop, $5.79 for two). We got a two scoop vanilla/strawberry and two scoop mocha almond fudge/lemon custard. Since a 2 scoop sundae is only 20 cents more, we went with that. There were 3 people working, but each had their responsibiilty (one responsible for cakes, one for mobile order, and one for walk-in) so we waited a bit. We thought the lemon custard was very good, and it mixed surprisingly well with the rich, dark coffee ice cream. Just picked up my daughter's birthday cake. Was not at all what she picked out. The girl working said she apologize gave me another cake and to contact the owner to get a refund. Owner "Shannon" which business cards state "Mark Norman" was so unprofessional, rude, racist and condescending. Was on the phone for a couple of minutes to which she stated she was not going to give me a refund. Did not let me speak, just gave excuses on how she doesn't know all the designs they have... yet she's the "owner". I have never written such a poor review for any place i've been to. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. Me and my partner have gone there individually and together to always get the same thing. A quart of icing on the cake. Unfortunately, it's not pre-packaged so they have to pack it for us, but its our favorite ice cream. Regardless, The first time we went there, I ordered a quart and one of the girls looked me at me shocked saying "A QUART?"... she then scoffed and continued to pack the quart. We looked at each other in confusion because the service was already so rocky. We gave the situation the benefit of the doubt, we understand people have bad days, and that's completely okay! Now after 5 visits, the same rude disrespectful attitude has happened so many times to the point i dont want to go there again because they act like i did something so wrong by ordering something. I visited this store on a Saturday evening . A young lady and a young man were in charge. My husband and my son each ordered one scoop of ice cream on a cone and we paid without looking at the receipt to notice that the young lady charged us for one order of one scoop and one order of double scoop. When I came back to the shop and asked the young lady for a refund, she made a face of doubt and didn't apologize. The reason I went back was to let them know that it wasn't right to be so careless and I would leave happily if they apologized but none of them did. This evening July 9 the assistant manager walked out to his parked convertible car parked directly in front of the store. So this is just a review for the Ice Cream cake... We stopped in last minute to grab an ice cream cake for a work appreciation event. They had multiple choices in regards to both flavor and size which was quite nice. We went with the 8-12 size and I think it was about $30. Little pricey in my mind, but it was a delicious treat.. Despite how small the cake looked it was clearly plenty for the 10 or so of us in the office as I found about a piece leftover in the freezer the next day. Just two parking spots out front but if you're shopping in the Rice Village area, come on by for an ice cold treat. I was able to grab a parking out front so I could run in and grab an ice cream cake. You're crazy. I don't even know how to start talking about the ice cream. Basically, it is heaven and highly addicting, it's kind of scary. Lucky us! This Baskin Robbins store is a popular place in winter, too. Although we can easily make an ice cream "run" in 10 minutes, the store has two reserved parking spots at this busy Rice Village location. My husband is a creature of habit and usually orders chocolate almond. I like to try the flavors of the month and for the holidays, fell in love with peppermint patty.
