My daughter asked me to take her to get some yogurt after school and like a sucker, I agreed since we haven't been here for a while. The concept is pretty cool. You go in and select the variety of yogurt that you like and add the toppings. After you're done, they weigh it and you pay for it. Not sure what the weight charge is, but can be pricey if you see heavy toppings like gummy bears or worms and etc. My favorite yogurt is the original tart because it reminds me of Vietnamese yogurt. This is a classic small froyo shop. It tends to be crowded and loud in the evenings, but if you time it right it's good. They usually have a few vegan options and the pricing is decent. There's lots of parking across the road by the Marshalls. There is minimal seating inside, and it tends to be too crowded to comfortably sit even when there is that option. Yesterday it was gorgeous so I decided to walk to The Landing with my friend to check out what was open. After we ate dinner we walked by Menchie's and my friend stopped in his tracks. A large sign in the window advertised a new dairy free mint chocolate sorbet. My friend, who is lactose intolerant, insisted we go inside. I have never been inside Menchie's but was pleasantly taken in by the colorful, bright decor. It was very cheerful. There was a sign advertising waffle bowls, but in the age of COVID these products don't exist. All food must be carefully contained so having some waffle bowls hanging out would not be acceptable in the current guidelines. Too size cups, though, were present and my friend snatched one up and begin mixing and matching. I was very impressed with how clean everything was and how the allergens were clearly placed on the flavor signs. I eyed the cake batter flavor until I saw it contained eggs and I safely could walk away. It is clear, fun, and easy. The toppings are now all individual size as well which complied with the COVID health guidelines. This may also help contain people's desire to load up on toppings as everyone can see how much an individual container holds! You pay by the weight, which is something to keep in mind. That's still fairly standard. The cashiers were friendly and prompt. Each lady was wearing masks. The flavors were delicious! The watermelon may have been my favorite being so light with a strong taste of watermelon, but the mint chocolate was a close second as it tasted almost like an Andes Mint. After an afternoon and early evening if Friyay Funday we figured why not pit stop at Menchie's. I was still pretty full so I only got a teeeeny little bit 8pm Friday and it was PACKED! I imagine a movie had just ended down the street at the theater, or maybe the kids just love coming here? It was packed and the staff did a tremendous job of getting everyone in and out quickly. This location is smaller compared to others I've been to, but the staff helps you navigate in and out without issue. Worst experience ever! I came in and was not greeted at all. The employees there just stared at me and I'm pretty sure they were talking about me because they were laughing. What's so funny? How unprofessional. When I got to the chill bar, the whipped cream was FULL of cookie dough toppings. When I asked them to change it, they told me there wasn't any more and scoffed at me. When I finally came up to pay, they refused to let me use my rewards money. I have about $8 on my card and they told me I couldn't use it. I decided to let it go and just pay for it with my card, then they just threw away my receipt without asking me if I wanted it. I needed the receipt because I need to keep track of my expenses since I'm an accountant. Also, when I wanted to sit down, all the chairs and tables were stacked. Where am I supposed to sit? It was only 9:15pm. Why is the manager never here?! Never coming back! And I highly recommend people to just go to the Tacoma Mall Menchies because the other Menchies in Renton was just as terrible! This was my first visit to menchies and I have to say it was terrible. I've seen the stores before on undercover boss and friends Facebook posts and I have to say that this location is awful. Worker had no apron or hat or anything that would signify they work there on. When I walked in I really had no idea what to do or where to go. No welcome in from staff. The counters were dirty and product was disheveled to a point of ridiculousness. There were children running everywhere including in front of me while I was trying to get my frozen yogurt. They were literally stepping on my feet. The employee that was at the register was very rude and did not seem to want to talk at all. I have been here a few times and I must say, they have surprised me every time. The first time I ever had menchies, they did not impress me at all. So when I knew about this place in the landing, I wasn't excited nor motivated to check it out. However, Menchies have improved a lot and it is a good addition to the landing. My sister and I decided to stop by today because we wanted something somewhat healthy (compare to ice cream/donuts/bubble tea). They have pretty good flavors right now, including lime sorbet, pineapple sorbet, and butterscotch which was what I got. The toppings seemed a lot but it is actually less than other menchies I been to but it is still sufficient. The fruit toppings was surprisingly fresh and tasty. My favorite was the waffle cone. Usually, the waffle cones are stale and soft. However, the ones I got today was fresh and crunchy and it was perfect. Prices are standard. Overall, it is a nice addition to the area and I will definitely come back when I'm craving for froyo. read more

Me and my family go to menchies all the time. Lately when I come in around noon I noticed there's items that are empty and it's only been about an hour since they opened. The flavors are pretty limited. I think when I went they only had 4 but that could be just because they are new. They have lots of topping options and lots of fruits so that was nice. Ya the employees are not the most outgoing people they just kinda stare at you when you walk in but it's fine you don't really need them in order to get your yogurt. The spoons are really cute. Today I went to go to Menchies's at the landing and the three workers I saw weren't doing anything. I didn't know what to get so I got about two samples. By the time I got to my second sample it was already like their sixth break. Mind you that the worker also got samples the little time they were there. I was just in munchies tonight and I have gone once previously. They have lots of great flavors that rotate, and toppings that you put on yourself. I am happy to have froyo back in the landing. But what really brought me to write a review was how sweet the guy that was running the cash register at around 9 pm on 6/10/17 was. I didn't catch his name but I hope his managers know that his customer service is above and beyond. My card wouldn't swipe and after I went to hand him my froyo since I didn't have alternative payment he whipped out his own wallet and told me it was on him!!
