I came in for a Brake & Lamp Inspection, and although my vehicle didn't pass the first time, the inspection was completed in under an hour. He clearly explained the three items that needed to be repaired, and after getting those repairs done (along with a dealer recall), I returned within the 30-day grace period. The reinspection was quick only about 30 to 35 minutes and I only had to pay the re inspection / certificate fee. Everything Eduardo pointed out was completely valid, and the process was honest, straightforward, and efficient from start to finish. Great communication, no surprises, and excellent customer service. I was so appreciative that I came back with pizza for Eduardo and his technicians as a small thank you for taking such good care of me. I highly recommend A1 Smog & Repair if you need a Brake & Lamp Inspection or smog inspection. Honest people, fast service, and a great experience overall.

My car is in good condition, yet they immediately started telling me it needed repairs before it could pass the smog inspection. It's hard not to question that recommendation when they also make money from doing those same repairs. If you're looking for an honest smog inspection, I would suggest going somewhere that only performs smog checks instead of a shop that also profits from repairs. Don't waste your time or your money here. There are plenty of other places that will treat customers with honesty and professionalism.

Most ppl like myself (although I'm not a mechanic) would assume it was either the wheel rubbing or an axle going bad, but Kevin knew it was something else. We left the vehicle with him for several hours and after inspecting the vehicle from underneath, he found numerous loose bolts that could've potentially been a disaster if left alone. Turns out the last shop didn't torque everything to spec when installing the aftermarket suspension. We immediately felt comfortable with Kevin and just knew that Avante Garde was an honest shop. Seeing how thorough he was with this fix, I brought another vehicle to Kevin the next day to check another issue I was having after a battery change. Give Kevin a shot! Won't be disappointed.

The owner reached out directly and sent his personal number so we could chat. I explained my experience, he apologized for the misunderstanding on the shop's end, and provided me a refund for the overcharge. He also offered mechanic advice should I need any in the future - even if I didn't go with his shop. My family has used the shop before and had a good experience so I do believe my experience was a fluke. I respect the fact that he made the situation right, it shows he takes pride in his shop and values his customers.
