This place has a assortment of delicious home made sushi at an affordable price. The food is delicious. I love the California roll.

Literally never coming here again. Over all the years I've been eating here (well over a decade), I put up with all the service issues, the declining interior, and the increasing prices, but this has gotten ridiculous. The deluxe sashimi platter, which started off around $18.95 back in the day, then increased a buck or two, then increased to almost $30, is now almost $80. Are you kidding me??! I understand inflation is a thing, trust me, but a 400% price increase is like nothing I've ever seen before. Sushi Plus is a sinking ship. At this point, I think they've raised their prices to try to offset losing business, but they've got it all backwards. In order to keep this place from going under, they need to take the temporary hit of bringing their prices back down, increase quality, and improve service. You'll never get customers to come back if you keep raising prices and serving mediocre food with even more mediocre (bordering on terrible) service. Or maybe it's just time for them to go away altogether to make room for another restaurant who can better serve this area. read more

It has been over 2 years since I last had lunch here. The food and the service has really gotten worst. Service: the waiter and waitress just put the rolls and nigiri at random places on the table with zero considerations on what's already on the table. Part of the plates are over the table edge, zero effort to rearrange plates on the table to make it more organized. Food: really under whelming. One of the rolls was not edible as the eel was over fried and hard to eat. Just a huge decrease from what I remember two years ago. Two years ago they had a board with the fresh sushi or other items. Sushi minus. Unfortunately the quality here seems to have declined (while their prices have stayed high compared to similar budget-quality sushi places). I also had the experience of ordering/paying for an item I didn't receive. I ordered a "Hamachi Carpaccio" off the "special sashimi" section of the dine-in menu. I was deciding between two special sushi options and it was the (listed) yuzu+ikura combo for the Hamachi that made the decision for me. When the order arrived, there was no ikura. I asked the server about it and she said the dish didn't come with ikura. I was puzzled and thought maybe I had misread the menu, but then I checked again and yup the menu lists this specialty $20.95 item as hamachi with yuzu, Jalapeno, and ikura. I pointed out the menu description and the server seemed surprised -- then suggested maybe the item had ikura in the past but now "ikura is very expensive." She apologized but didn't offer to compensate in any way for the premium priced item I paid for that didn't arrive as described. I should have pressed to talk to a manager. I'm not sure how this dish warrants the $20.95 price if it doesn't include the listed premium ingredients (FWIW the sauce also didn't have any discernable yuzu citrus flavor and the fish was very mediocre). Overall, disappointing and overpriced. Servers were friendly enough, but there's no reason to come back. The price does not match the quality. And, honestly if they sell an item with a specific (even if outdated) description, they should either honor that or reimburse the cost difference, and then update the menu. We came here because MJ Sushi in Menlo Park was closed, but if you're looking for budget sushi that is a good value, that's the spot to go to. I don't love paying "specialty sashimi" prices and being served something that doesn't match. read more

I ordered the avocado roll for a delivered work lunch and it was pretty good! Nothing special but there was a decent amount of avocado filling and the roll was a good size, 8 large pieces. Roll was topped with sesame seeds and I was given packets of soy sauce, wasabi paste, and pickled ginger. read more

Very solid! I chose Sushi Plus because it was one of the few sushi restaurants open early. The restaurant was empty on a Thursday (late) afternoon, which made sense for the time of day. The interior had a casual vibe with plenty of seating. My partner and I both started with Miso Soup, which was predictably good. For sushi, I ordered the Crazy Roll and Philadelphia Roll. Both were very tasty and had generous cuts of raw fish. I was impressed by the quality. The Crazy Roll pieces were large and messy to eat, but I didn't mind. My partner also enjoyed his sushi, especially the Double Double Roll. Service was friendly and attentive. Overall, would recommend Sushi Plus if you're looking tasty, no-frills sushi. read more

We got 2 to-go Bento boxes; both were very generous serving size and delicious. Will definitely be coming back! For one of the boxes, I substituted the crab roll for gyoza at no extra charge. I also chose the all veggie tempura but the mixed tempura which my husband got was better in the end because it had shrimp tempura. This place has recently been my go to because they are pretty consistently good. They do a whole lot of to go business which I have noticed every time I go and they are pretty good. The sushi is good and they have lots of options. I feel like some rolls are over priced but they are all pretty good. The workers always seem friendly but definitely busy so that is good for them. I've been coming here for years and am happy to see that the overall quality of food and service has improved since 2020. Favorites will always be the Mountain View Special Roll and the Spider Roll. I just left a review for Corner Table and now for the other half of our meals! Who knew you could make everyone happy by coming to Corner Table/Sushi Plus? They share a patio and it was so nice to have the option to order from either - we took advantage of this convenience and everyone got exactly what we wanted. My hubby and I used to go on Sushi dates and this place had everything we ordered and more - it was incredible! Takoyaki - 10/10 - delicious flavor, the sauce was incredible - really well done Agadashi - 10/10 - by far my favorite appetizer, they were so well done, flavorful broth, they were cooked to perfection Gyoza - 8/10 - while tasty, a few could have been crisped up a bit more Sashimi and sushi plate - 10/10 - the fish was incredibly fresh, well cut, melted in your mouth - the tuna was amazing and we had one piece of fatty tuna which was awesome! One of the best sushi bento's I've had in my entire life. the restaurant was a little small and not very upscale or newly decorated but it had its' charm. I saw lots of food delivery pickups within the time I was there for lunch on a Friday. I think the locals definitely recognize the star is the food. my favorite was the fried gyoza. The food is just okay. I may be a bit spoiled from living in South Bay. I recently moved to Redwood City and wanted to satisfy my Japanese food cravings. I ordered a bento box, which is my normal, economical choice. The miso soup a bit too sweet (surprising). The teriyaki chicken also was a tad burnt on the ends. Overall, I'm excited for asian food in Redwood City. However, Sushi Plus may not be the go-to japanese restaurant, at least in the Bay Area. I would instead recommend Kakaroto in Mountain View, although that is further away. read more

I really like the food here, but!!!! make sure that you order in advance. Most orders take 30 minutes plus. I ordered some food and drove from work to pick it up. When they put in your order on the tablet, there is a prompt to pay 18% tip, you can adjust that if you're in a pinch, still tip, but you don't have to be forced to pay that percentage. I've never dined inside, so I can't speak to that. We've only ordered take out. I really love the avocado sushi. As a vegetarian, this is my favorite. My husband eats fish and has enjoyed his items. Came here after a hike nearby on a Saturday at about 1:30 and was happy to find a sushi place with such high ratings so decided to give it a go. There was seating outside but it was a bit warm so we decided to sit inside. They had music playing in the background and it was honestly a bit loud and distracting. Service was prompt and they took our order without trying to rush us. We ended up ordering a nabeyaki udon, 49er roll, BoB roll, and a Mountain View roll along with some tea and a drink. Our first impressions were that everything was priced a bit higher than we expected, but hey, as long as the food delivered, that shouldn't be an issue. I think the first tip off that this wasn't going to be the case was the ginger and wasabi that was brought to us in a little togo plastic container. I honestly didn't know what to say to this, I was just blown away at how unexpected that was. Food didn't take too long to get out (maybe 15 minutes). They did bring out two bowls for us to share the udon, so that was nice. Don't mean to be disrespectful or anything but the noodles tasted like instant noodles. The broth was very flat and tasted like it came from a powder. On to the sushi, 49er roll had a nice touch where they added some additional salmon inside of the roll as well as on top. Haven't seen this before and was excited thinking that their sushi was much better quality and was a bit disappointed. While the fish quality wasn't bad, it wasn't particularly good either and had a fishy smell/taste to them. This was much more apparent in the 49er roll since it wasn't doused in sauce. By now, we didn't expect much out of either of the two rolls and they were just about the same quality. I'm hoping they had a really off day or their main chef was off or something. Nabeyaki was salty and chicken wasnt great. Had two roles and both of the salmon and mango on top was cut like a novice who didnt know how to cut. Not sure if they were training people? Wasnt the usual waitresses either... it was an ajima (older aunt, maybe the female owner) and a hispanic lady. Got the teriyaki kids meal.. was ok. Five stars for the food but two stars for the dining experience. If you're planning to eat from Sushi Plus, I highly recommend just getting it to go and eating it in your car instead. The dine in experience felt like a food court, everything was brought out in plastic containers and I had to pay $1 for water? They literally did not have cups of water and you were forced to pay $1 for a bottle. The servers were all super nice but for the price of the sushi, I expect a free cup of water at the very least LOL. I ordered the 9pc omakase and my boyfriend ordered the Chirashi bowl. The fish was at a perfect temperature and the cuts were fat and fresh. I would return again for takeout but definitely not for dining in. read more
