I have been fostering through this organization for years so I give you an educated and experienced review. For those previous one or two star review who are complaining about receiving animals with colds.. I am appalled people as idiotic as that are in charge of animals. These are babies and if you have ever had a baby or pet, you know you can't control if they get sick.. BABIES ARE GERM factories ..no shit. I have taken care of them from the entire process , rescuing them from the day they are about to be killed at the shelter to caring for them every single day until they are ready to be adopted. The fosters take them to spay and neuter appointments and vaccination appointments , feed them quality food and if they get sick we medicate them appropriately , all at the expense of the organization . We also deal with nut jobs like the previous posters who harass us and pressure is for cats and then hate us because we deem them unfit to provide a good home ( no surprise ). Once you adopt a kitten , it is a huge responsibility that some people aren't ready for..sorry there aren't returns on your children when they get sick, same with pets. No guarantees they will be perfect for you, you do however need to be perfect to them. Don't adopt unless you are absolutely ready, you are doing a disservice to the cats. read more

I adopted two wonderful kittens last year from them. To be honest, they came with parasites, but since they are rescue cats it's not surprising. I took them to the vet a couple of times to get it all sorted out, and they are fine now The male one was aggressive at first, scratching and biting, but when I got the smaller female a couple of months later, he seemed the mellow out a lot. Maybe he just needed a playmate. I like that they made me sign a form that the cats would be indoor cats only and never be declawed. They really care about the animals there. read more

i have to say - I am really disappointed in this rescue. We adopted a kitty from this rescue. The kitten was fostered by a very nice gal and her family. After I adopted her she became very sick and when I contacted the rescue they ignored my calls. I then called the lady I got the cat from - the foster family. She told me she would attempt to contact them too. She too could not get a hold of the rescue. I soon found out that my check was cashed immediately for the kitten and still no answer from the rescue. Turns out a lot of $$ later that the kitten had calicivirus. It cost me over 400$ and a lot of medication and my kitty got a little better. she still sneezes a lot. Another thing, I had to microchip her. I have never heard of a rescue that does not microchip?! Not only did it cost me 45$ but if any of these cats from this rescue end up in a shelter Meoowz Rescue will not be notified (naturally sans a microchip) They are obviously all about the money and don't care for the kitties unless you are adopting and writing a check. Stay AWAY from them! Go to a local shelter and adopt there - Shelter animals come spayed and neutered- microchipped and vaccinated! read more

I found 4 kittens about 4 weeks old and started contacting rescue groups and nobody would help. Everyone kept telling me to contact Dani and Meoowz. I finally did and was happy that they were the only group willing to help. They sent Kathy out to give our kittens their shots, and brought food and litter to help while we were fostering them. I was able to get them spayed/neutered with the help of Meoowz. I got lucky and all of my babies were adopted quickly. I will foster for them again in the near future. They are a wonderful group and very helpful with everything! I have dealt with other groups in the past and have volunteered and have been treated very badly, but never with Meoowz did I ever feel this way. read more

We have adopted 2 kittens from MeoowzResQ and could not be happier. What makes MeoowzResQ special is that all the kittens are hand-raised and cared for in the homes of fosters vs. simply left in cages somewhere. This makes the cats especially social and friendly. If you are looking for a kitten or cat I highly recommend that you find one of the special little kitties that MeoowzResQ have saved. read more

This is one of the best cat rescues I have ever been involved with. Earlier this year on my birthday I wanted to save the life of a cat as a way to commemorate my birthday. After rescuing a mother cat and her 6 kittens from a shelter, MeoowzResQ was the only rescue that answered my plea for help and offered rescue backing. I established a foster family and Meoowz helped with vetting and food and adoption events. They are some of the kindest and hardworking people in cat rescue! read more

This is my story...I heard the sound of little legs running around on the other side of my neighbors wall. As it is in my neighborhood, it was kitten season, so this time I chose to rescue 5 kittens approximately 5 weeks old. I built an enclosed shelter in my backyard where I kept them because of my two senior cats I have indoors. I did this years ago and told myself I could do this again. Dewormed, 1st shots, litterbox trained, some socializing - four were ready for adoption. Facebook, Instragram, posted flyers, ad in the local paper....one kitten went to his forever home. A friend posted to her NextDoor area - lots of calls, turned down two house inspections, no other bites. Kittens are about 10 weeks old now and I decided to create an account of my own on NextDoor - two more forever homes. Last two kittens were almost 12 weeks old and I needed to get them exposure to the public. I went to a few Petsmarts asking if I can show my kittens, but the Rescue groups turned me down because they had no room or did not want an outsider coming in to show kittens over the ones they had. I was frustrated and burnt out at this point and was thinking TNR for these last two kittens, but couldn't bring myself to doing that yet. I didn't want to deal with another rescue, with the negative results I was receiving. I needed help, can't do this alone. Then one day I get a message on NextDoor which said call this number and they will be happy to find homes for your kittens. What? Is this legit?? Must be a scam of some sort. Debi called me and told me she was a volunteer at MeoowsResq and that she would have someone contact me. I can't explain the relief I felt that a rescue group was actually going to help me. It took about a week and a half before I heard from the rescue. NOTE to people who gave bad reviews about service - key word VOLUNTEERS...you would expect service from big corporations who pay their employees big bucks to listen and solve issues for their customers. MeoowsResQ is a growing, non-profit organization in need of volunteers to devote their time to answering the many calls/emails they receive per day, among other things that have to be done for all the homeless kittens. TIME - it takes time to build a foundation of volunteers - end of story. I would like to thank Susie who was the person working with me to find a Foster family. She stuck with me through all the emails. I am forever grateful!! Letting go after 8 weeks with the last kitten was heartbreaking and I will miss her :( but there will be another litter in the future who'll need rescuing I'm sure, and that I can look forward to with the help of MeoowsResQ!! read more

I adopted my two wonderful kitties from MeoowzResQ when they were just 8 weeks old. They had been sick, but were nursed to good health. They are now happy, healthy three-year old bundles of fun!!!! We just recently celebrated our three year anniversary of their adoption. Can't say enough good things about MeoowzResQ. They didn't give up on the most vulnerable kittiens! They provided me with coupons and contacts for the vet who had treated them though they were fine when I took them to my own vet. This is a terrific organization that cares about kittens. read more

I have never left a yelp review on anything but this is crazy. I fostered for them and it was absolutely horrible. Not only do they not foster a good environment for shy/abused cats, but they were super unorganized. They thought if a cat was hissing at an adoption event, that meant they were "mean" and not that the cat was stressed because they had to be in a cage next to other cats. Many cats get scared in a shelter environment and that will not help them seem friendly to adopters. Their "rescue" is literally just a house with 100 cats in it. What about the cats who don't like other cats? Who knows where they are. Cats just roam about the house, Theres a lot of poop everywhere. Cats can get a contagious respiratory disease and once they have it they always do, so I feel like all those cats do. They preach to keep their cats indoors, but one time I went there and the door was wide open and there were cats just walking around outside. The people hardly answer the door when I knock. There is always cigarette smoke and the lady there has been noticeably drunk when I've gone to the house for food. The cat I was fostering had diarrhea and they told me not to go to the vet. I did anyways and they didn't have her medical records? They said it was "too much paper." Um.... How about keeping them on your computer? I adopted my cat because I just couldn't handle it anymore. I lvoed her and I didn't want her to have to suffer in their environment. Whenever I called them, they wouldn't pick up. They weirdly wanted me to only give my cat wet food. Whenever I would email them, they literally would ask, is this?" Even when I sent them my adoption form and the money, they never responded? I think they just wanted to have a bunch of cats without the responsibility. I'm sure there are volunteers who really care but its just a mess. read more
