I have gone through some of the most stressful situations in my life with these types of people. This company has two of the best service professionals you will ever have the pleasure of working with, Barbara and Cathleen. They have healed our wounds. The experiences that I have had with them over the last couple of years have been the polar opposite of all of the experiences I have had in the past. Some of their attributes include but are not limited to immediate service response with high-quality providers, follow-up phone calls, and personal involvement to ensure that things were done the way they were supposed to. Most of all I appreciate their enjoyable kind personalities, authenticity, and true desire to serve. I have been through hell and I thought it was just the way it is. These people have changed my perception and therefore affected my reality, They are a true blessing.

I would not recommend these people. They listed a rental on Columbus St in Alexandria and I replied…read more3 times via Trulia, Realtor.com and direct email. Four days pass and I drive down from NY to see the house and I never hear back from "Bill". If you're any sort of professional realtor you don't post an ad all over like that and then ignore the responses. They blow it off because they aren't true realtors building relationships it's just low margin property mgt, like who cares who we stick in here we'll find another body to fill it up.

We rented a unit in Parkfairfax managed by this property management company and their "property…read moremanagement" was a disaster. I experienced constant flooding and sewage leaking from the kitchen sinks (yep, 2 sinks), giant sized insects invading our space, decaying floor boards from water damage, 3 years of uninterrupted mold and mildew, the need for a dehumidifier requiring 4 buckets of water to be dumped daily, and the last stray was a bathroom ceiling leaks flooding the unit requiring a 1 month stay in the hotel paid for by my insurance and I still had to pay the rent for my unit. During those 3 years, I suffered terribly from respiratory problems for the first time in my life. No empathy shown by the leasing agent or landlord for the major and myriad inconveniences. Upon returning to the unit in addition to the floor repairs they used substandard contractors to paint the walls. During my stay at the hotel (on my insurance's dime, mind you despite paying the full month's rent DURING it's renovation) I was not notified that the walls would be painted until AFTER the work was done, nor was my artwork removed from the walls prior to painting. The substandard painters merely painted around my artwork. Essentially their substandard painting contractors sealed the damage free adhesive to the walls with the paint making the artwork impossible to remove without damaging the wall. Moreover, the substandard contractors also painted over the back door sealing it shut. Upon move-out, the property management company wanted to penalize me for the damage caused by their own substandard painters shoddy work, since there're still holding on to my security deposit. Avoid renting through this "property management" company at all costs

They then tried to switch to an hourly rate and offer expensive off-the-wall solutions to finish the initial job that they botched (same as other reviewer). I've used contractors before and this is by far my worst experience. Strike 1 - the agreed upon job was to mount and level all of the cabinets for granite. They left stating a portion of the cabinetry was a quarter inch lower and the granite guys would fix it. Dynamic didn't finish the work and kept stating they stayed more hours than they should've so they left. When the granite installers couldn't finish their job because of the uneven and unfinished cabinetry work-- Dynamic stated we needed to a $900 solution for the work they initially agreed upon (this included metal jacks in the basement for our main level kitchen floors, what?!). Needless to say, we got real professionals in here to simply increase the base height of the cabinets a quarter inch using 2x4s and the granite installed wonderfully. There were no "floor stabilization issues" as Dynamic continually said there would be. Strike 2 - the other part of the job was to add an outlet above the stove for our range hood. Dynamic used an existing outlet, reran those wires to the new outlet. Then they closed the old outlet up with drywall in front of it! We got an electrician in here to fix that, because adding a new outlet doesn't mean you get to close another one up with drywall. Goodness. Strike 3 - they quoted a second part of the job (before we realized the poor quality of the initial work and lackluster response thereafter). Dynamic quoted 2.5x price and double the days to finish as several other contractors. Not efficient or cost effective.

Heating oil has become the largest frustration. Chambers claims that the oil tank was full at move in, referencing the previous tenant filling the tank at move out, two months (Mar-Apr) before my occupancy, during which both bathrooms were renovated. There is no fill gauge to verify contents. The 560-gallon tank seems to have ran out after heating the 1480 sq ft house from late Oct - mid Feb. I contacted Chambers after the furnace cut out to let them know I believe it ran out of fuel, and they reminded me that per the lease I'm required to have it filled by TJ Fannon & Sons. TJ Fannon quoted over $2,500 to fill - 33% over market rate per government data and an independent quote. Despite concern over fuel level at move in, furnace efficiency, and potential tank leakage, I offered to have the tank filled by an alternative supplier. Chambers is refusing to allow the tank to be filled by anyone but TJ Fannon due to preference. Chambers is also refusing to provide the supporting documents referenced to TJ Fannon as a basis for the lease requirement. Chambers also failed to provide waste receptacles for established trash service at move in, resulting in weeks of trial and error with different services to have reliable waste service. Otherwise, we have had continuous visits from pest control, property management, maintenance for other services that have been a disruption. Chambers may be an alright management company for residences designed for rent, but they have proven not be a fitting partner elsewhere. We hope sharing our experience prevents others from being expected $750+/mo for heat.

Mari, the Covenants Manager, has been extremely helpful and patient with all of my questions. I also had the chance to meet Tracy, the General Manager, and she was great to work with. Lisa, the Administrative Assistant, has been very resourceful as well. She even helped locate and scan survey documents from the files so we could use them for permitting. Zach, Stacy, Bill, and the rest of the team have all been helpful and approachable whenever I've had questions. As both a Dominion Valley resident and a local business owner, I really appreciate the time they've taken to help me, my customers, and other residents stay on the right track. I've even gone in with questions about exterior colors for my own home, and they took the time to help me make sure everything was compliant. Every time I've been in the office, it's clear they are managing a lot between resident questions, emails, documents, compliance items, and day-to-day community needs. Even with all of that going on, they have always made time to answer my questions and help however they can. Thank you to the Dominion Valley HOA team for all that you do for the community.
