Food was absolutely fabulous, however the cocktails didn't at all live up to their self-aggrandizing descriptions.

We are in DC for vacation and are staying at The Yours Truly Hotel which is in the heart of DC. It's a older hotel but for the price it's worth it. Everything is very close and in walking distance of the hotel. Mercy Me is in the lobby of the hotel and surprisingly good. We were very hungry after walking all day and decided to eat here. We also had the cheese bites that there is no pic for....sorry! They were the bomb however and are served with a pepper jelly that is excellent. The chicken was excellent and is served with a lime sauce that is good with the potatoes also. The fish tacos were lacking however. The fish was good but the tortillas were awful. Now I say this because I am comparing them to the ones we get back home in Texas so my standards are high for tortillas. They use white corn that are like leather for the fish tacos. They need to switch over to a flour and heat them on a comal or at least a grill before the serve them. That would fix the issue and also serve it with a side of cilantro lime rice and refried beans. Just a suggestion..... however it was a good dinner and we were very surprised. read more

Food and drinks were good but service was atrocious. On every single occasion I visited I had an issue with service. The pickup/delivery service needs a lot of work! For example, I ordered a cocktail to go and received an text saying my drink was prepared and I would get another text when it was ready to pick up. Twenty minutes later (!) after not receiving any further texts, I inquired about my drink and was told it would be made when I arrived! How was I supposed to know to arrive if I never received the text message telling me to collect my drink!? On another occasion I specifically asked for a breakfast taco with "no cheese" and when I showed up to collect it, I was given a vegan taco because the one I ordered came with cheese. However, I didn't want a vegan taco, I wanted one with eggs. Why couldn't someone just have called me and told me this instead of swapping out my order without my permission? It's things like this that make me think MercyMe needs a much better manager. Someone who can do a full scale audit of existing systems and improve them to meet customer needs. We need restaurants that can adapt to new takeout/delivery options that are user-friendly. Don't make customers jump through hoops because staff is asleep at the wheel. Get your act together if you want to keep restaurants viable during this difficult time. read more

Admittedly found this on tiktock and am surprised it took us so long to hear about it. Everything about this place is 10/10. The food, the service, the comfortable vibes. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better they also allow dogs. My boyfriend took me here for my birthday for brunch and we had the best time. Our server (I wish I could remember her name) was absolutely the sweetest along with all the staff. We got the MM Benedict and French toast absolutely amazing with no complaints. We also ordered a side of fries and let me tell you you get your money's worth with a huge portion of fries for only 4 dollars. If you're thinking about going here just do it. You won't regret it! Beautiful place, but for the love of God, turn down the music! Know your clientele: No one is getting a drink or trying to dance at 1 in the afternoon. 95% of people are there working, drinking coffee, etc. Turn down the music. I've seen places come and go bc they are getting traffic and think they're untouchable so they can ignore people's grievances. Big mistake. Enough people are complaining about the music and word of mouth will spread. This is DC we got options. If people don't come here to work that monstrous lobby that costs a fortune would be empty. Great ambiance and tasty drinks. However, my group came in for happy hour and we were not presented the happy hour menu. We checked online for the deals, the pricing was off by a few dollars. This added up on final bill. Would of appreciated if the happy hour menu would of been presented when we sat down if it was so off from what is on the website. We went to happy hour at the bar, there were no seats at the bar so the hostess put us in a lounge at the bar. Both bartenders were complete jerks, one guy had a bucket full of sliced limes, there were 5 people waiting to order, he saw all of them and continued to slice limes for 10 minutes. The people next to me left to go somewhere else that would provide service. We finally got drinks ordered and the guy could not have been ruder. We ordered a couple rounds because it took about 15 minutes just to get the first order in. We had reservations at the restaurant, when I went to close the bar tab, he had charged full price, not happy hour and wouldn't even speak to us. This is just for breakfast. Ordered using their online ordering system, which I gave an extra star for because of its convenience. I ordered three items and the price was around $25. The bagel sandwich was small considering the price point and just ok. It had a sunny-side up egg, cheese, and bacon on a Call Your Mother everything bagel. The yogurt parfait was atrocious. It cost $8 and was smaller than what you'd find at a Starbucks. There was about a tablespoon of fruit, a sprinkling of mediocre granola, and probably 1/8 cup of yogurt. Total rip-off. The cinnamon roll intrigued me because of the rum-soaked raisins and vegan classification. It was pitifully small and tasted nothing like cinnamon, instead being very nutmeg-forward. Too nutmeggy and not worth the $5 cost. I would come back for their dinner, but the breakfast/brunch was incredibly disappointing and felt like a scam. read more

I love this place! One of my favorites in DC!! I've been here for coffee and pastries, casual drinks, and sit-down dinner, and I always enjoy it. My favorite thing about Mercy Me is the vibe - the plush, velvet furniture throughout the lounge makes the space so warm and inviting and you often see people hanging here for hours catching up over drinks and appetizers. The back patio is also beautiful when it's open! The menu here definitely lends itself better to drinks/small plates to share rather than a sit down dinner. The portions are on the smaller side, but everything is delicious. I love to come here to grab a drink with friends and split some hot fries and crispy cheese bites (a must-try). Definitely check it out if you're in DC - with great food, fun drinks, and a unique concept and atmosphere, you won't be disappointed!! read more

I came here for brunch with my friend and we loved it. The space inside is very large and we were seated a good ways away from other customers which was a plus. Their drinks are are a little pricey but on par with what the standard is for DC cocktails. I would highly recommend their breakfast pizza, which you can definitely split. read more

We stopped in for breakfast tacos and we were in love! What a nice change from the ho hum routine cafes. Our tacos were delicious and filled with bacon and eggs. I can't say enough about the vibe of this place! It's a large room with comfy couches and chairs scattered around. There are spaces for groups or private tables. Hands down my favorite brunch place in DC. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the food is great. The portions here will have you full and taking the rest home. I got the pancakes and my date got the chicken sandwich, we shared both and had some to take with us. I definitely recommend the pancakes and smoothies for brunch. For the cafe only! I haven't been to the restaurant but have been to the cafe a couple times. I am gluten free and my only complaint is that the tacos are flour tortillas with no corn option. If this changed you would find me here every morning! The coffee is fantastic, I believe they use Ceremony roasters. I have had the warm quinoa (okay, i'm not a huge quinoa person) which has delicious tropical fruit. I also have tried the chia seed bowl which is a good portion size and very delicious. My partner (not GF but is Dairy Free) loooves the sandwiches, and they can modify for his restriction. The overall vibe is unmatched. Mercy me is an influencer's paradise. Everything is just so darn aesthetically pleasing. I stopped by for a drink a few weeks ago with friends. They had a nice outdoor patio space. I loved the selection of funky natural wines. I split a bottle of orange wine (~$60). Prices were pretty standard for DC. We didn't order food so I can't speak to that. I ordered twice from Mercy Me, as you get a discount if you order for pickup if you're staying at the Yours Truly where this restaurant is located. First time, I ordered a bagel with a fancy cream cheese with chicken sausage on the side and smoothie. I received a phone call saying they were out of the cream cheese and the sausage. I changed the order and asked for a bagel with regular cream cheese, and an egg on the side. When I picked the order up and opened the bagel, it was a bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Never asked for bacon or cheese. I also cannot eat bacon, so this was really annoying. After dealing with all that, I had to pick apart the bagel and drank the smoothie. $17.62 for that: a bagel and smoothie. Second time, I ordered a burger with fries on the side with a drink at 6:15pm. Went downstairs at 7:30 and the order was not ready. I waited for 25 minutes downstairs for them to bring it out, I had to speak with 2 team members to locate the order. So maybe 2 hours waiting and got the order with no sensible explanation. Thanks to the sweet girl at they front who worked hard to find the order. $30.28 for this. Fries were great. The location is gorgeous other reviews and photos share, but they need to work on their systems and customer service. The food is way too expensive and not that good for them to be delaying and messing up orders like they do. They're usually booked up for dinner service, and I actually traveled to other restaurants because I couldn't deal with all that. read more

The decor and ambiance is here is lovely! I went for brunch but would love to come back to telework right by their all-day cafe. Their brunch menu is a bit limited due to Covid, but otherwise, each dish was delish and decent portions. The cocktails my friends ordered were yummy, but I think the description of the Kitty Claw was a bit misleading. Highly recommend the P.E.C. and Eggs Benedict. I wish I could give this place 0 stars for their service. TLDR: Waitstaff is extremely rude, made my girlfriends and her friends feel extremely uncomfortable for ordering 2 drinks. We will never be back. As someone who has worked in the food service industry, it is upsetting to have experienced this terrible of service. I'm generally more lenient with waitstaff, but the bartenders and servers at Mercy Me have consistently been rude and really ruined the mood of my girlfriend's surprise proposal. I emailed Mercy Me about a month ago to ask for an exception to have 4 seats reserved at the bar or near the bar at 4:30pm on a Saturday. Never got a response. Called and they didn't answer. My friend shows up the day of 2 minutes before opening and asked for an exception if she could be seated at the bar or near it for 4 people. The hostess told her "We're not open. What time is it? 3:58, you have two minutes". The attitude and disgust that was behind those words almost made her walk out of there, but because this was part of a proposal, she had no choice. When seated the server was EXTREMELY rude, took forever, and shared the many cocktails they were out of. I get it if you no longer serve your frozen drinks. There is no need to be condensing. I would never recommend anyone go here. Bad attitudes all around. read more

Mercy me is another cute "vibey" place that all the tik tok girls love. Eye too wanted to love it, but they fell short in having decent food, drinks & service. Instead if you want cute pictures and some stale water, you should come here. Our server started out doing well, but something happened or maybe she body swapped because after about 15 minutes of being there the service was suddenly terrible. Now I will say my friend and I were very patient and understanding of what the food industry is because of Covid. But it takes nothing to check on a customer, bring us water or to see if our food came out okay. We ended up calling the manager after sitting with cold food and a terrible impression of a expresso martini. Once we finally got fresh food, and another drink we had to wait another 20 minutes to flag down our waitress for the bill and a new drink. Spending 100 for dinner is typical for two people in the city, but you could at least provide good service and hot food. Maybe brunch is better, but I wont waste my money here again to find out. read more

I really did not expect much from this space but I was in for a big surprise. I thought it was a small coffee shop but soon found out it was a huge space with both indoor and outdoor seating. What can I say -- the style in there is on point. From the furniture to the ambiance, to the layout, this place is just welcoming and comfortable. It feels like a luxe living room we all wish we had. I was there when it was in "cafe" mode, but I plan to go back to try the food as well. I'm sure it won't disappoint. This place made an awesome first impression, and the style is right up my alley, so I can't wait to try more of what they have to offer, perhaps for dinner. I wasn't going to to write a review, but this really bothered me. My friend and I went to Mercy Me for brunch yesterday. We had never been before but we were really excited. We went to the front and asked for a table, the hostess seated us in a really nice spot. Our waiter took our drink orders but when I asked about the cinnamon roll, he said you can only get that from the bakery counter. I asked if it would be OK to grab it and bring it to the table to eat with our other food and he said that wouldn't be a problem. We grabbed a couple pastries and they were fantastic. But some other member of the staff got really upset with us. She came up to our table 3 separate times. First she asked if we had a reservation and we said no but we were seated. She said well you can't sit there. I asked if she wanted us to leave and she said she would go talk to the front. The second time, she made it really clear that we were not welcome here. The third time, she told us that we had to leave by 12:45 (it was 11:20). I dont know if it was how we looked or who we were, but she made it incredibly clear that we were not welcome.. Our entrees and drinks and our waiter were also fantastic but I still won't be going back. This woman continued to give us dirty looks throughout our meal. read more
