Unique dishes, with no punch. Everything was just okay. No dish made me feel like I would want to return.... However, I'm interested in trying their brunch. We came for dinner. Ordered three appetizers and three entrees. We had the fried cheese, chips and empanadas. All cooked wonderfully but never enthused my palates. For the entrees we had the Adobe chicken, tacos and steak. The steak was a bit chewy. The chicken was perfectly tender but the flavor, again, was subtle. And the tacos.... pretty good but didn't really care for the quinoa shell. I think the concept is great and a lot of people seem to frequent this place but I wasn't impressed by the food. The restaurant is nice and spacious in side with a lot of outdoor seating. I can see the appeal to come here with a group of friends. . read more

Mercy Me has quickly become one of my favorite cafe's in DC. The South-American-ish concept feels unique with plenty of menu items you can't find anywhere else nearby. The menu is expansive and expanding... each time I have gone, it seems that there is a new item on display, or a new component to the restaurant that they are introducing. While I recommend trying the pastries, for your first visit, I recommend one of their bagel sandwiches made with Call Your Mother bagels. The MIA and the GIG are my two favorites, and don't forget a latte to go along with it. Once you've tried those, make your way through the rest of the menu. The brigadeiros and soft serve ice cream are new favorite of mine. The decor, music, and friendly staff will make you want to stay for hours and there are plenty of great places to do it, from the busy front patio, the plush dining room, and the more secluded back patio. And make sure to ask the staff what's going on this week... I'm always pleasantly surprised to hear what's new. read more

This place used to be good. It's advertised as Sorta South-American, but suddenly most of the people working there are from eastern europe. Everything is suddenly stuffy and all the cool people that used to work there are either gone or leaving. The food is ok, but the ambiance has changed, they are burning Palo Santo and using it in drinks which is a gross cultural appropriation as none of them are south american and Palo santo is for rituals and sacred purposes, not as incense. so very disrespectful. read more

Ambiance was great for the place but I was waiting 10 minutes for the hostess to seat me (place was pretty empty) not a big issue just a minor thing to add. Food was great but over priced by a small amount. Our waitress was amazing and it felt like she genuinely cared about us :) overall a good place to relax and enjoy a lemonade with the lady friend and chat read more

Ate here on a recent stay in DC. It was much bigger inside than I had imagined from looking at their website. This made me feel good as it was our first time dining inside a restaurant since the pandemic started. Service was great. We can recommend The Dip sandwich and the Quinoa Tacos, which came nestled in a dinosaur shaped holder. Also highly recommend splurging on the warm chocolate chip cookies served with a glass of milk. read more

Admittedly, I have only had Mercy Me for breakfast/brunch takeout, so this review is based on that. My friend *loves* Mercy Me, so over the last few months we've ordered it a lot. Unfortunately, their brunch options leave something to be desired. Everything is very small - the coffees are the same size as the child-size Starbucks drinks, the tacos are 1/2 a portion (order two!), and they skimp on cream cheese for bagels and bagel sandwiches. That being said, the flavors are good. The smoothies are excellent and you can get CYM bagels here! The tacos, while small, are also good. Definitely worth a try! Just order more than you normally would to make up for small portions. read more

POC BEWARE: Mercy Me has a racist hostess working here. She refused to seat me and my party who were all minorities and told us they were fully booked for the night (even though they had open tables on Resy). She then proceeded to say they now had available tables but only outside, which was not true. They had plenty of indoor dining room tables available on Resy. She caught a nasty attitude when I asked about said tables. Such a turn off and horrible experience. Please reconsider dining here if you don't want to be discriminated against for no reason. read more

Today was our lucky day. Normally you have to have reservations for brunch but one of the managers was able to score us a table. I'm the only vegan out of my group of 5 and I was able to find a few options on their menu. I fell in love with their Tropical Smooth. The pineapple empanada was nice too. My friends meals were good and flavorful. Over all it was a good experience and the atmosphere was a vibe. read more

The service and ambience was great they provided a mini DIY Sunday for my birthday and easily replace a drink I spilt. As far as negatives, the fried fish had absolutely no seasoning on it. The drink was way too strong and my friends and I are drinkers. The phone goes straight to voicemail every single time you try to call it so you cannot call ahead with questions. SO good. Absolutely adorable inside, good service. Very large restaurant with spacious outdoor as well. Wonderful brunch menu - the sourdough pancakes, fried squab and corn cakes, pork roll sandwich, and fried chicken sandwich were all legit 10/10. Tiki cocktails totally delicious - especially the Piña colada with roasted coconut. Make a reservation and go!!!! read more

First, don't get your hopes up for something that you see on the menus on this app. They seem to change often. I came here wanting the MM Benedict but was told that it's only available on the weekends. Second, this is not a sit and be served place. This is an order at the counter then find a seat place. With that said, the SEC was very good. It's an egg, chicken sausage and cheese on a English muffin. There is the slightest sweetness that really tips this sandwich off. If you're hungry get two. The cappuccino was strong and had great flavor. The seating area was definitely not the usual table and chair type. There are cushions and couches as well as family style tables. It's open air and very comfortable. A nice place to hang out and chill. There is music playing but it's not too loud. As far as prices, they are reasonable for this area of town. The food and drinks are good, if pricy. The lounge style seating and ambience make for a good date night. It's a shame that the morning cafe part of Mercy Me is now a Call Your Mother location, because it was truly one of the best in the area. It also appears that the bar menu no longer includes espresso martinis, which were probably my favorite drink there. read more

I get cravings for mercy me's breakfast tacos regularly. The butternut squash, egg & cheese is soooooo good. Plus they have a vegan breakfast taco that's a delish little flavor bomb. Can't wait to get brunch there one day!! read more

But the beer was expertly poured and the wine was a very generous serving. The prices are also more than reasonable, which is great for a DC bar. But what really elevates this place is the service. By late night, the place was jam packed. But each and every bartender was extremely friendly and they expertly worked the crowd, getting drinks served quickly (which too few places manage to do) and swiftly clearing off tables of dirty glasses. I also greatly appreciated the free goldfish that they happily dole out to the patrons. The staff made this a really good time.

I would definitely recommend checking this place out! While the tight crowds can make it a bit tough on a busy week day or weekend night, it is completely worth experiencing at least once for the great drinks, good food, and unique atmosphere.

I'd prefer a very light silky tofu but this was a soft tofu. 6/10 Vpod - at first it just tasted like orange juice but then the other flavors peek through on the after taste and when I mixed it more. Even though it was good, it still felt very basic 5/10 Philadelphia Scotsman - it's pretty ginger forward. Technically the level of ginger spice is fine but strong but then the rest of the drink got completely overpowered and so this just wasn't that great 2.5/10

Our waitress showed exceptional patience, addressing not only my celiac condition but also my husband's lactose intolerance. Guiding us through the menu, she highlighted safe options and considered potential cross-contamination. The ambiance at the restaurant contributed greatly to our enjoyable evening. It was a Thursday night, which perhaps explained the quieter setting. We found the noise level to be pleasantly low, allowing us to chat comfortably without any disturbances. Initially, my brother and I intended to share the gnocchi and ceviche, but plans changed when we discovered the gluten in the gnocchi's sauce. We decided against splitting those dishes. On the other hand, my husband's choice of the steak, particularly paired with exquisite oyster mushrooms, became a highlight. A heads-up: Mercy Me's portion sizes are on the smaller side. Although exquisitely flavored, those with hearty appetites might find them lacking. It's worth noting but not a deal-breaker, especially if you're not overly hungry. The standout of our dining experience was undoubtedly the drinks--each a delightful concoction, elevating the overall meal. The drink quality alone makes a return visit, perhaps for happy hour or a casual drink. The highlight of our visit was how Mercy Me helped celebrate my birthday. They brought out a Pavlova, free of charge, a gesture that not only shows their commitment to customer satisfaction but also enhanced the overall dining experience. Had such a great time at Mercy Me! The vibes were immaculate from the moment we walked in. There was a live DJ playing great music all night, which made the atmosphere feel lively without being overwhelming. This is the perfect spot to catch up with friends or go on a date night. We grabbed one of the lounge seating areas, which was super comfortable for groups and made us want to stay longer. In fact, I think we ended up dining for almost two hours because the ambiance and aesthetics were just that good. I made a reservation through OpenTable and was seated right away, which made the whole experience seamless. Even though it was busy, everything felt smooth and well organized. The food and drinks were surprisingly delicious too. The yucca fries were crispy and addictive, and the ravioli was absolutely delicious. But the real star for me was the Matcha Colada. It somehow tasted like a green apple in the best way possible, and it was so good that I had to order a second one. Overall, Mercy Me delivers on all fronts: great music, beautiful aesthetics, comfortable seating, and genuinely good food and drinks. I visited Mercy Me for a friend's birthday dinner, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the entire experience. Everything was absolutely delicious from the highly recommended and well-deserved, top-rated Espresso Martini to the Peruvian chicken and yuca. Let me just say, they put their foot in that yuca. I have never in my life had yuca so perfectly cooked crispy on the outside, yet soft and fluffy on the inside. I would go back just for that alone. The chicken was flavorful and paired beautifully with a side of rice and beans, making for the perfect shareable meal. The portions were huge, so I left with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. The restaurant itself is stunning, offering a relaxed yet elegant vibe. Our server was fabulous, providing spot-on recommendations that elevated the experience even more. ok I LOVE this place! and I can't believe it took me so long to find it! I went there with my boyfriend recently and we had the best dining experience and will sure come back. My boyfriend is from argentina so he is a harsh judge on south american food but let me tell you he approved 10/10. We stayed a week at Yours Truly Hotel on New Hampshire Ave in Washington DC and discovered this little gem of a restaurant inside. At first glance is appears to be a hotel bar with happy hour choices. It turned out to be a full scale restaurant and a fairly good one at that. It wasn't clear what the hours of operation are, but we enjoyed a Rockfish and salad dinner. It definitely can hold its own in a town full of great restaurants. read more
