Then I found Fitness 19. It's smaller than most gyms, but that works in its favor. The staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. People actually come here to work out instead of sitting on a machine for 45 minutes scrolling through TikTok and guarding it like it's the Iron Throne. The place is clean, organized, and doesn't smell like a medieval battlefield after three days in the sun. Equipment is where it's supposed to be. Nobody seems determined to create chaos. My only complaint is that it isn't open 24 hours. Sometimes I get the urge to exercise at 2 a.m. after making poor dietary decisions and watching motivational videos that convince me I'm one workout away from becoming Batman. The pricing is reasonable, and they offer additional classes if that's your thing. Personally, I'm just a basic member, and the basic membership has everything I need. No gimmicks, no nonsense, no influencers filming workouts and then asking you to get out of their Oscar Worthy shot. For the first time in a long time,I don't dread going to the gym. There's a back parking lot for the senior center. Easy to access. They seem to be lots of community engagement events and activities here. Love that! Fullerton Community Center has a gym/ fitness area too. How cool is that? It is cheap to visit. Staff were very friendly when I went by to visit. Facility is nice and clean. Seems like it is cared for and kept up.

Then I made the mistake of going into the sauna. Let's just say the atmosphere was... lifeless. I turned right around and decided cardio wasn't worth becoming part of the next crime documentary(dead person in the sauna ). On the bright side, I burned calories speed-walking to my car faster than I ever would've on the treadmill.

If you're reading OTF reviews you're probably considering joining…read moreand contemplating various fitness formats/gyms etc. You've probably viewed some YouTube videos on how the classes work but essentially at this location you have the following formats - 2G, 3G, Tread 50, Strength 50, and I believe like a lot of OTFs trialing Hyrox format. How it works is you sign up for class on their app. Show up. Eat a bunch of free mints. select a station # on the treadmill or rower (2G) or treadmill or rower or weight floor (3G). If you're in a 2G class you're on treadmill for 23 minutes and weights 23 minutes. If you're in a 3G class you're on treadmill for 14 mins, rower 14 mins, and weights 14 mins. Tread 50 you're on the treadmill whole class (approx 40 mins) Strength 50 you're on the weight floor (approx 40 mins) the whole class. The coaches are there to direct the flow and keep you motivated throughout. Everything is tailored to your abilities and injuries. You can walk, jog, run, haul ass on the treadmills. It is a workout for all ages and abilities. Everyone is kind and welcoming from the members to the coaches. I think the most difficult thing will be taking the first step to give it a shot and then to come back. But if you're reading this then you've made the first step in wanting to change some aspect of your life. Now what you need to do is take the free intro class to get a sense of the place. But 1 class is unlikely to give you the full picture of what OTF can become for you. You need to come back and take those baby steps towards changing your habits. It's never easy starting a new thing. But you need to just show up. Even if you just walk on the treadmills or row casually or do body weight training - just show up. Commit to it. Give it a month before you decide. That's the hardest part. Stop making excuses or pushing it off. You have 1 body and 1 life to live so make it the best life. Ignore the naysayers the negativity and take a step towards change. Don't live with regrets and don't let life pass you by. Dropped quite a BIT of money due to a special deal they had maybe 2 years ago. (Finally writing…read morethis review). I did not get the newbie experience. I noticed for other newbies they would take a picture of them and their first challenges. When i came in, it seemed like they weren't prepared for me coming in. I ended up training with the wrong group instead of the one I was supposed to be in. I felt uncomfortable with certain staff, I didnt know we were supposed to track our workouts on the white board until after a few sessions someone finally explained it to me. I was hoping for an all women gym but there were a few males as trainers. Unfortunately it didn't work out for me at the time.

Workout in a sauna…read more.. Ive done Hot yoga and a few 90°+ degrees HIIT workouts. I thought this would be a good high impact amazing workout. All workouts are in individual/family size saunas. But it's all virtual. Meaning no personal feedback. Coaches dont even know your name and all positive shout outs are embarrassingly generic. At the end of the day, I didnt get a workout, I just got Hot. However, I will say, if they were to add a cold plunge, this would be an amazing recovery gym.

But after they get you in a contract, you learn that the app doesn't actually work with your Fitbit or Apple Watch. It doesn't actually keep track of all your calories burned. Also, because the saunas are so small, if you see that someone has booked the room, you don't want to be that second person who filled out that tiny space with someone you don't know. And you'd never book as the third. This means that you can't actually get the work out you want cause it's booked by that one person a lot. I give it a two stars cause they do try but their tech is broken and the concept doesn't fully work. We canceled our contract early and we regret ever signing up.
