HOLY MOLY THIS PLACE WAS GOOD! We try to support local as often as we can. Especially in places where chain restaurants seem to be in abundance. So glad we did. I'm not much of a pizza crust eater, HOWEVER, there was nothing left on the plate. You can tell the dough is scratch made in house. We ordered the Pollo Bella and it was delicious. We have been a loyal customer of Merlin's for ten years. We go there at least two times a month. We always highly recommend their pizza. Until Now!! They have totally changed their menu and great service. We typically order a 14" hand tossed pizza half veggie and half sausage and pepperoni. We split it. That is not allowed. No more 1/2 and 1/2 pizza. Then they now start out with a Cheeze pizza and add an additional charge. That's no problem. Most stores are doing that. They charge more for each size increase. My wife ordered the ten inch veggie. She wanted to eliminate the spinach and replace it with another topping. The waiter told her that would be an additional charge. Seriously!! We ask to talk to the manager since that made no sense. Fifteen minutes later she came by and said he was too busy. Obviously, they are sooo busy. They don't need our business. We live in a condo with 164 other families. Word will spread. What a shame. New management doesn't care about their customers. There are other options in Destin. Thank God!! read more

I wouldn't change a thing about this pizza joint! Every time we are in Destin we have to have at least one dinner of Merlin's pizza and salad! Yes, we love the pizza but we also really love the salad options! (Monday night) Tonight, we ordered online a small pepperoni hand tossed with light cheese and 1 side of marinara for carry out (20 min wait). Our order was ready when we arrived about 25 mins after ordering. We also ordered an Italian chef salad with no tomatoes and with kens Italian dressing and 1 extra dressing (total of 3). I asked for another marinara at pick up and the employee said he was able to add the charge for the marinara to my credit card which was already provided. I thought this was a great feature of there ordering system. The pizza was hot, fresh and delicious! The salad was great and we love all the toppings! We wish we got some more cubed ham and cheese. Next time, we will add extra ham and cheese. The service was great tonight! This is the place to go for pizza and salad in Destin! I'm a big pizza guy and when I kept asking the best pizza in Destin for my family trip it was almost always answered with this place. So on one of our last days me and my family finally stopped in here for some lunch. Luckily we had no wait and was seated immediately. As mentioned it is a very tiny place. We decided to get a large half and hal cheeee and pepperoni and a medium lasagna pizza. Service was good and fast and our waitress was super nice and good. The pizza for me I wasn't a fan. Now the cheese, bread and crust were all very good. It was the sauce that I did not like. Had a very spaghetti sauce taste. Like a bottle of ragu or store brand jar sauce. Didn't like it at all. The lasagna pizza was unique and better because the sauce wasn't as potent on it. My wife really enjoyed the lasagna a whole lot as well. Kids were mixed reviews on pepperoni and cheese. My oldest enjoyed the sauce. The others not so much. So very mixed reactions from us all. Overall we had good service and tried a. We pizza place. So that's always a plus. We are not from around here. So when we were told that this place was one of the best pizzas around here, we were kind of scetchy at first. I ordered online and it said it was going to take 80 mins. Found this great local pizza place and loved it! Try the Blooming Meatball for an appetizer! Unique and tasty. Tuscan chicken pizza was great and a huge Greek salad to share.
