I'm always seeking an authentic Philly Cheesesteak. Imagine my surprise to find this gem of a pizzeria less than a block from my office. The Cheesesteak surpassed my expectations. It was perfect ( I've made several subsequent visits to verify! ). While the exterior isn't exactly "inviting", don't let this keep you from experiencing an authentic delicacy! By the way, the pizzas are well above par. The service is decent, but keep in mind, if it's good, it has to be made from scratch. That takes a little extra time and effort. I've shared this gem of a pizzeria with several friends, and they all have added it to their rotation. One actually drives from downtown Greenville, to Greer, at least once every other week I will say one friend, from Brooklyn, wasn't overly impressed, but he wasn't dismissive. Btw. Just found this place and it was worth the occasion. From out front it looks like a Pizza place, like tons of others. But when you order, which is fast, and get the pizza, that makes the difference. This is not good pizza but in the top 3 in the county. Excellent ingredients, taste, and amount. Problem is we live a bit of travel away but it is worth the drive to downtown Greer. Friendly and fast service with a location that's easy to get in and out of. Great value for solid pizza. Especially a great deal for our family when we use coupon that comes out monthly in the mail or a bogo coupon out of the HS Coupon books. Good pitcher beer prices also! read more

Unfortunately, I just realized that we often don't think about it as a choice as we are driving down Wade Hampton Blvd. I'm just glad my hubby remembered this place last night when he was thinking about ordering pizza delivery (I'd rather starve). This small pizza place has just enough room to cater to a large family outing, or just the 2 of you. If it's a frothy beer you'd like to enjoy with your pizza- they have that too! People , they make the ranch dressing from scratch! A perfect compliment to the chicken wings. The chicken is marinaded in the hot sauce, so they aren't swimming in buffalo sauce & messy. Just the way I like 'em! The pizza sauce is as close to NYC style as you'll find in Greer. The sauce is super important in rating a pizza in my opinion. It's thin and fresh tasting here. Best pizza I have had in Greer. Very unique and full of flavor. Highly recommend the Spartan pie with sundried tomatoes. Their subs are also nice sized. A lot of quality ingredients used here, without the generic bland flavors found at most pizza places. read more

Giving Merrell's a 4 star because I didn't have Pizza and its a pizza place so can't really rate on that. But I did order the vegan kale salad and the vegan garlic knots and they were both awesome. The salad was fresh and beautiful with a great presentation ( they made it look pretty) and the garlic knots well, fabulous. My friend had 2 slices of pizza and a beer and she was very happy. The price was right, the people were fun and friendly. I will definitely go there again. read more

This was our second time ordering. First time, the food was AMAZING and the wings were to die for, only had to wait hr for delivery, but hey it tasted great!!! This time though we had to wait 1 hr and 45 min for delivery and the wings were soggy!!!!!!! We ordered at 5:28 PM, I called at 7:00PM looking for food and was told the delivery guy left 15mins ago with our food. He didn't show up until 7:15pm, so I asked does it really take that long to cook the food. The driver said no, they just cooked it and brought it right out. So not only do you make me wait FOREVER for my food, but then you lie to me over the phone about where my food is! Seriously?! Never again Merrells! read more

BEST WINGS I've found in the area. With that said I do have some criticism which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. We eat here once a week usually and love their wings. We order delivery and for the last few months they had been getting our order wrong by not cooking the wings well done like requested but they have gotten better at getting the order right and we still eat here once a week. We used to go in and eat at the location but we had a baby and now it's just easier to order in. I wish they had a hotter wing sauce like a habenro. Their salads are great to. Garlic knots are good. It's great to have is location in Greer that will deliver somethings other than pizza or Chinese. read more

I was excited to get their mailer with some interesting sounding options on the menu. It was bleh mediocre. I doubt I'd eat here again. The lasagne was really bland with a lot of meat that was not very well seasoned. It didnt seem to have any ricotta in it. The salad was ok, and homemade ranch dressing great, but it was shredded iceberg lettuce, the kind you would put on a sub sandwich. The lemonade literally tasted like someone peed it in and then added acid. Took one sip and threw it in the trash. I dont know how owners don't notice the taste of things. I've known the boys who run Merrell's for years. Both guys grew up in the restaurant business, so they know the right and wrong way to serve food and treat their customers. Believe me, they do it the right way. It's a quality establishment and -- by the way -- the food is awesome. The pizza is great. I love the BBQ chicken nachos and the all of the sandwiches are on point. Just don't get mayo, because it's gross. It's probably fine at Merrell's, I just hate mayo. read more

Just moved to Greer area. First try at Merrell's in our 1st week we had a pizza half cooked and disgusting. 2nd visit, husband had to work late. To be fair, I blantly stashed 6 wings for my husband as we are living on one income and was told to not come back because I was "stealing" and Jewish and it was a "christian" place. WWJD? Well, it's a pizza place so selecting a pizza was my thought on what they do best! Well, I HOPE it's not what they do best! The pizza (which I picked up in store and brought home 3 miles away, so not much sitting time before eating) is competitive to a not-that-good-frozen-pizza from your local grocery store. C'mon! If you know pizza and you enjoy a QUALITY NY or Chicago pizza, then don't expect anything close to that here at Merrell's. In the pizza category anyway. I moved here from NY within the last year and have given up finding really great pizza and wings. I ordered tonight for the first time and was amazed at how good everything looked and tasted. I orders the Merrels pizza and the garlic parm wings. The pizza was great and the wings weren't greasy at all and cooked perfectly with a little crunch. I always enjoy grabbing a quick lunch on the weekend. The two slice lunch special is clutch, "I'd like a miller on draft, please". The wings and a salad is my second go to. They honestly have the best homemade ranch (Bottle it please!). Also, the mozzarella sticks are absolutely the best things on the earth. I generally don't leave bad reviews. We ate there based on reviews, but these reviews but be left mostly by employees. This one stuck in my craw and I just couldn't express my displeasure with the worst pizza that either my kids or I have ever eaten. I mean, worst than what I consider the worst - Lil Ceasers, Papa Johns, Dominoes, Pizza Hut - they make a better pizza than these guys. This was the first and last time I will eat here. It was my birthday dinner (Aug 5.) from my kids. We ordered the house special, but they should have called it the "Soggy Bottom Special". This is no NY or Chicago style pizza - I just don't what to call it. The crust is twice as thick a NY style, 3 times as soft. There was so much sauce on the pizza, it was pouring out of each slice and that's all you taste. And for $20.00, it wasn't very tasty and a waste of money. There was so much cheese on it you could hardly chew it up to swallow. We all ate about half a slice and tossed it. If I could it 0 stars, I would. Better options for Pizza? Try these - Barley's Taphouse, Frankie's, Boston Pizzeria, Mythos of Greer, Frodos, Flying Ace, and Bertolos. Don't waste your money here unless you like thicker, soggy, over-saused, over-cheesed, and over-priced pizza. I just can't believe that someone could make such an absolutely nasty, uneatable pizza. read more
