I really want to like this place more than I do. Everything is just - ok. It was like everything I ate was missing an ingredient that would actually make me love the food. Server was friendly. Most everything on the menu is Italian, so if you want Greek food, this isn't the place. We had to ask to get our table wiped clean, the bathroom was dirty with one toalett clogged, the other one you couldn't get the toilet paper off, no hand soap. I ordered the tuna on pita which basically was pita with a can of tuna dumped on top. I got the gyro for my husband to take home, and he said it wasn't very good. Probably will not go back. We have been here many times through out the years. We went to eat lunch on Friday. It was very slow. Maybe 5 tables including ours. We ordered a bottle of white Zinfadel, veggie lasagna and Greek spaghetti. We have always gotten the wine first but we had water and then our side salads came out. The server stated they didn't have a bottle available would carafe be ok? Yes that's fine. A little while later she came back to say she hadn't forgotten about the wine, they didn't have enough for a carafe so the owner went next door to get it. Guess what's next door? CVS. Really?? So we decline the wine. Our food comes out. Hubby said it was missing something and didn't taste good as normal. Mine was ok. We go to pay and it's $35. Lunch veggie lasagna is $10 and Greek spaghetti is $15. We have had issues with the owner multiple times being rude so we left. It will be the last time they take money from us. We won't be back. Too many times of being cheated one way or another. The place seems to be declining. Nothing in the restroom works like it should...paper towels on counter, tp not in holder, soap dispenser from Ingles. It's like everything is broken. Carpet looks dirty. Went in for lunch. Ordered Chicken parm. Food was OK, Service was just below average (refilled my tea, never checked if the food was satisfactory, etc.) Now the terrible part - the sound system. Not music, but Christian discussion radio. When I entered there was some music but I did not pay attention, after I was seated there was a little discussion that I ignored, then another song. From that point on the entire radio program was Christian discussion. This is not a place for Jewish, Hebrew, Muslim, or me or any other religion. My husband and I always enjoy eating at Mythos Greek and Italian Restaurant. The menu is plentiful and the food is consistently delicious, with portions that are generous...you never leave hungry. The restaurant staff are friendly from the moment you arrive to be seated. They are happy to help with any questions or suggestions with the menu...they also constantly check in to see if you need anything during your meal. Our favorites are any of the Greek and Italian dishes... sometimes it's so hard to choose because every one is a winner. For lunch or a lighter dinner choice... if you like great tasting tuna fish, may I suggest the Hot Oven Tuna Sub. Also, a side of fries are a must. If you should have any room left and crave dessert, you are in for a treat. The dessert case contains cannolis, Limoncello cake, chocolate cake, and a variety of the creamiest homemade cheesecakes you'll every taste. Alright update time and we're rollin' it back a star. Let me tell you why. Once again bad service and bad food has fallen upon deaf ears. The managers that run the restaurant are absolutely delusional to customer complaints even when they're shown they are blatantly wrong. Where to begin. First up my appetizer, the lump crab dip appetizer, is taken to my table the same time as my dinner which when that happens I always find idiotic because, well, WHYYYY would you do that? The whole point is that the appetizer is to arrive as a starter before the main course. But I tried to move past that. The server said "appetizers are made all at once so there's no way to tell who's appetizer is who's". Remember that for what's coming up. Anyway, I take a dip of it with one of the oversized bites of baguette and taste some cheese and cream. Then start to take another bite and am now on a hunt for some actual crab...there isn't any. When I ask why there's no lumps of crab in the "lump crab dip" I am told that they are puréed into it. Let's be honest - first thoughts - oh...my...god. They didn't. When the same server comes back instead of hinting with a complaint we blatantly request it be removed from the check because it's either eat that hot or eat our dinners hot and there's no crab meat in the crab dip so they finally agree and then tell us that "there is lump crab meat in the sauce, I blended it myself". Okay remember earlier? First off "lump crab" isn't a type of crab, it's the size of the serving, it's pieces of crab in lumps roughy 1/2 to a teaspoon in sized per lump. Secondly - earlier she stated it's musical appetizers which is why we were served it the same time as our dinners but you just said you made it yourself - so which is it? So after being caught in a lie I ask for my cheesecake which came into a to go box I didn't ask for. So that was kind of rude because it's like asking us to leave. Then someone with me orders a slice and specifies they'd like to eat it there. To which I was highly entertained. The desserts themselves, as always, are safe from ridicule. Whomever does those does them right. To make the ending quick we were told about what a great seller the appetizer was on our way out. Which I'm sure everyone would try it once as I did, making something new seem like a big seller. But it's another story when the same people come back. Fool me once, as they say. read more

We were in Greer and had a coupon for Mythos so we decided to try it. The portions were good and the pricing was appropriate for the quality and quantity of food. Our service was average and I think that average is the best way to describe Mythos. It was good but not great Nothing very memorable about the meal. Here is what was on the plate: Iceberg lettuce, two olives, 2 peppers, a teaspoon of mozzarella, 2 slices of cucumbers- they were spoiled. 2 slices of tomatoes and they were unripe. I went to Mythos recently because I was in the mood for Greek food. Overall, the restaurant is average. I have had a lot of other Greek meals in the area that are a lot better. I had the hummus to start. It was not as much as flavor as I typically like and came with four wedges of pita bread (it costs you to order more pita). For my entree I had the Chicken Souvlaki with vegetables. The chicken was cooked perfect and I enjoyed the vegetable medley (broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini). It also had raw onions on the chicken which I wish would've been cooked. The Greek salad that came before the entree was pretty good. I liked the flavor of the dressing and amount of feta cheese. If I went back I would get the Greek salad as my main. I would eat here again, but it's not my first choice. read more

First time ever going to this restaurant. I was driving up Wade Hampton and thought I should try this restaurant out. I pulled in and went around the building looking for the drive through since I had seen cars sitting at a window. Once I got to the back, I sat in line probably 10 minutes. There was no menu to look at so I pulled the menu up on my phone. When I got to the window, a lady came and asked what's the name on the order. I looked at her and said, I haven't placed a order. She said you want to call it in, this is a pick up window. I said I've never been there before and she shut the window in my face!!! She looked to be maybe a manager or a owner. She had on a solid black shirt. I was in disbelief of how I was treated. I will NEVER EVER attempt to go back to this place. We hadn't been in over 6 months, so after driving home from Fla today we wanted spaghetti. We knew we could get into Mythos. Now our waitress Missy was wonderful. She told us all about the specials. We ordered a lump crab dip and decided to split the spaghetti supreme. The crab dip was bad- like the crab meat was bad- we politely and very quietly told our waitress. She apologized and told us to let the owner know when we paid and she would take it off. Now we are in the industry so we didn't want it taken off, we just wanted them to know. We finish eating and go to pay. The owner was extremely rude and told my husband that he didn't know what he was talking about. I tried to correct her- my hubby is a captain and ran a charter boat for year so YES he does know! I wouldn't have written this review except that attitude gives all of us a bad name. read more

I haven't visited Mythos for several years as there are other Greek restaurants in Greenville I visit pretty regularly *cough* Olympian Grill *cough*. My mom picked Mythos for her birthday, I suspect because she had Della Ventura's the night before. I love Greek food, good Greek is pretty hard to beat. Mythos is not good Greek food. The restaurant is carpeted, as I've mentioned in other reviews, NOT a fan. Old carpet, old food carpet, has a smell, the restaurant can do little to fix this other than rip and replace the carpet. You have to know my father to get the humor of this question, but when we first sat at our table my Dad leans over and asked me if the table was meant to be sticky. I let him know, only if they meant for it not to be properly cleaned. A wiser man would probably just leave at this point, but it's my Mom, it's her birthday meal. Also, periodically you need to give your immune system a challenge so we forged ahead. I ordered the Gyro Platter which came with a side salad and "Greek potatoes". The salad dressing was a creamy Greek, not an oil and vinegar Greek; however, it was the highlight of the meal. The salad itself seemed like fresh iceberg lettuce with cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese and two kalamata olives. I gave the offending cucumber to my wife and ate the rest of the salad. The Gyro Platter itself consisted of large triangles of gyro meat served on top of the the pita quarters. The meat had a good flavor, but it was slightly overcooked and therefore a bit dry. The pita bread soaked up the grease from the gyro so it was pretty unappetizing. I gave away the tomato slice and green bell pepper ring, I didn't really want them, and I'm not sure what purpose they served. The Greek potatoes were large sections of boiled potatoes cooked in what I suspect was tomato sauce and lemon juice. After trying two of them I pawned the rest off on my brother-in-law. The highlight of the meal was the Pumpkin Pound Cake my dad bought for my Mom from Strossner's Bakery. read more

I had an Attractions Book coupon for $10 off the purchase of two entrees. Regrettably, the owner refused to honor the coupon even though they didn't have any signs posted to let customers know that they were no longer accepting it. As a business owner, if you're going to pay to have a coupon included in a discount book to help promote your restaurant, you might want to accept it. By choosing not to accept it, you've taken a potential repeat customer that you would have easily made up that $10 discount on with their next visit and ensured that they will take their business elsewhere in the future. read more

I had a very enjoyable experience here earlier this week!! From the moment I stepped into the restaurant until the moment I walked out!! The atmosphere was peaceful and calm. My waitress (Hailey) was very personable and attentive. I ordered the Mousaka but received Lasagna. Now any other person would be upset but I couldn't because my dinner partner was speaking so loud that Hailey didn't hear what I wanted. She offered to correct the mistake but I wouldn't allow her to do so. The Lasagna was AMAZING!!!! Sorry I usually provide pictures. We are first time guests here. We enjoy Greek food and love it. This little restaurant seems authentic and definitely has good food. We only tried the gyro sandwich and spaghetti plate. Mostly the cheapest thing in the menu. We were not disappointed. Our waitress named Lauren was very good. It was only her 2nd day on the job and she kept apologizing for things she didn't know like prices and such. However, that didn't bother us at all. We just were happy someone was willing to actually work, she was real friendly and helpful. Next time we will get something bigger on the menu. My mom ordered eggplant parmigiana from here yesterday afternoon. She hadn't eaten anything all day long, so we are very positive this was the source. By evening, she was violently ill from both ends and began having acute bloody diarrhea that has not stopped since. My mom is a generally healthy person, but she is in the ER right now because she can't stop pooping bright red blood. Not gonna lie, my family and I are FURIOUS.
