Is this company even still in business? If anyone knows please post an answer here. They installed complete HVAC system at our house in the fall of 2023 and the AC failed all through the summer of 2024 and again in 2025 and would not start up at all now in the spring of 2026. To date they have fiddled with every small component in the house and system, replaced the outdoor compressor 3 times and replaced the entire outdoor unit once just last year. And this spring they have yet to answer their phone or return any calls. We drove by their location to see if we could talk to someone in person by the windows are shuttered and there's a for sale sign out front. read more

Jonathan Haigh is the owner Merrimack Valley Plumbing (MVP) in Haverhill Massachusetts. He and his company are not just negligent. They are thieves. I contracted MVP to install a Mitsubishi HVAC system in 2024. The list of critical failures during installation is too long to list here, and in fact one of their technicians (the only one who actually fixed the critical issues) was fired for suggesting that I seek recompense for their haphazard installation. But the most alarming concern is the obvious avoidance and deceit by the ownership. I paid for seven MHK-2 remote thermostats, totaling nearly $3k. Those thermostats were never provided, and no refund was ever issued. Jonathan nor anyone at MVP has responded to multiple calls and requests to provide the hardware. Only ghosting. I hate leaving negative reviews but this is beyond unprofessional. It's criminal. read more

They caused a huge leak and flooded my entire basement and then tried to pressure me into paying the other half of the boiler install installation. This went on for weeks. I had to run my propane fireplace to keep my house from freezing. I could have sued them. They offered no relief or compensation. My house turned into a steam bath. Flooding my basement. Ruining some walls and doors. They do not have 24 hour response as advertised. Stay away. read more

Installing vents crooked, leaving dozens of cigarette butts all over my property, installing the entire HVAC system backwards, breaking my boiler when they came to "service it" then a year later breaking my central AC when they came to "inspect" They did NOT pull necessary permits and were very unresponsive! read more

I had a very frustrating experience with this company. They did a great job selling me on how good the heat pump would be and the support they promised, but the reality was completely different. The first month went fine, but once winter hit, the system stopped working and produced no heat. It took over a week just to get an appointment, and the first visit didn't fix anything. They said they would come back and fix it, but after more delays, the issue still wasn't resolved. Eventually, they admitted they had installed the wrong component on the heat pump, which is why it wasn't producing heat at all. Then I had to wait another week for the correct part. The entire process took over a month. During that time, they offered a space heater, which was useless during blizzard conditions. I had to spend my own money on wood and extra heaters just to keep my house warm. Now the thermostat isn't working, and I've been trying to reach them for two weeks with no response. The only person who got back to me said he doesn't even work there anymore. Biggest mistake I made was paying in full upfront. Once they had the money, the service completely disappeared. If you're thinking about using this company, don't. Seriously--I'd rather buy you a $5 coffee myself than see you go through this headache. read more

Installed a new Water Heater on October 1`, 2025. From that date forward, faucets ran with rust, water spurting from all faucets. Called shortly thereafter, same service tech came out, ran all faucets, problem still persisted. Came out 2 more times and said it was not their problem to call well people. Well techs came out, not related to well. Since that time I have not been able to get service. Mgr. on vacation, manager will be here 1/15, no 1/4 no not at all. There is a loud knocking sound also. My furnace stopped working, I call the company that's installed my furnace, they never got back to me, after I called them back I was told sorry no one picked up the call. The next day I received a call to inform me they could schedule me for a Monday appointment, my furnace stopped working on a Thursday. That's when I called MVP company, I got an appointment the same day, the technician came out, and in 40 to 45 minutes my furnace was fixed. I made appt with Merrimack Valley Plumbing to replace leaking cartridges in my kitchen and 2 bathroom faucets. I have had this performed twice before by other plumbers in the past with no troubles. They arrived at my house with no understanding of the problem. I explained that the cartridges needed to be replaced and the lead plumber started talking about how "rebuilding" faucets was often more expensive than replacement. I told him that only the cartridges needed replacing and I had seen it done before. No he still insisted that we would need to rebuild it but that's ok, he could get me a Kohler that would be "just as good" as my custom Italian Rohl faucet even though it would not matched the others in my house. 30 minutes this went on. I called his supervisor and he told him to just replace the cartridges. I also asked to have the kitchen faucet removed from the counter so I could re-caulk the backsplash. He said ok and included the removal in the estimate. While he replaced the bathroom cartridges his assistant began to remove the kitchen faucet. When he could not remove it he asked for help. The lead plumber grasped the faucet by the spout and levered it back and forth to remove it. Ever since the faucet did not operate as before. There is now a 3-5 second delay before water flows and it dribbles for 10 sec. after shutting it off. Another plumber came to the house and diagnosed it as a bad aerator, but replacement did not fix the problem. He said he didn't know what to do but replace the fixture. I made arrangements for a warranty replacement of through Rohl so all that would be needed was the labor to replace the faucet. I was informed today that the release I signed absolved the workers of responsibility for any breakage that may occur when removing the faucet. To reiterate: Merrimack Valley Plumbing tried to sell me a new, un-needed faucet for 30 minutes then obviously manhandled the faucet to remove it from the counter and now say they are not responsible. I guess saving a few bucks on labor is more important than their reputation or pride in their workmanship. read more

we needed emergency assistance for my furnace that stopped working on a Sunday morning. we called at 8:30 am and didn't see a technician until 1pm. Ok. He looked at our 12 year old furnace and told us we should have this additional part that we did not have and up until now didn't need. This additional part was not needed to get us up and running but he felt that it was a good opportunity to upsell us on something in our time of need. We told him to hold off on the additional part and just fix what needs fixing. So after awhile he tells us we need a new fuel pump. Cost without labor, $900. Ok, if that's what we need. After 3 hours He replaced it and then tells us he needs an additional part that he doesn't have and that he would be back tomorrow to finish the job. Needless to say we went 24 hours without heat and hot water. Next day comes and they text us saying they can't get the part until Tuesday night so they'd be back on Wednesday!. We inquired with them as to what the part was we were waiting for and they told us what it was. The part we were waiting for was the additional part he tried to upsell us and told him to hold off. When we told them that we didn't want that part they said that they couldn't get a technician back until possibly 4pm, which is basically their closing time so we were looking at Tuesday the earliest. UNACCEPTABLE!! So Monday afternoon I started making calls to find someone for a second opinion. They came out in 45 minutes. They assessed the furnace and and told us what we needed. 2 parts totaling $600. They also told us we did not need the $900 pump we purchased the day before! Even more alarming was that the $900 pump can be purchased at Home Depot for less than $400! In addition to trying to upsell us on something we did not need, overcharging us for a part we did not need, The MVP technician completely messed up our wiring. It took the new company over an hour to figure out what he did to the wiring in order to fix it. My final bill was $800, 2parts plus labor. I highly recommend you steer clear of this company or you'll get ripped off! read more

Updating my previous review as I found out why they are so "quick, efficient, and reasonably priced" the HARD way. I've been in Haverhill for 7 years now and this is far and away the worst experience I have had. 2 weeks after they replaced our gas valve, it stopped working. Hard to imagine since their tech was busy promoting his personal photography business while installing it. When they came out the second time, the next tech didnt even check the gas valve, he did god knows what for an hour and told me the heat exchanger was gone and we needed a whole new furnace...the house itself is only 8 1/2 years old! Given my inexperience with furnaces myself, it was a great opportunity for them to upsell a new furnace quoted between $10k and $15k. They said a "comfort adviser" would be out the next day, Xmas eve, to get me to commit to a new furnace. When I scrambled to find any way possible to afford such a situation and presented them with my furnaces' warranty information, they couldnt believe I had found a way out. The "comfort adviser" then mysteriously never showed. When I called them repeatedly over the next few days asking why they didnt show and for a quote on the warranty replacement, I got crickets. Eventually, after calling many times, I was emailed a blank quote for $5k to replace the heat exchanger under warranty. No details, nothing. So I asked for further detail, but knew something wasnt right. After that, I got 3 separate opinions, one from National Grid themselves, telling me nothing was wrong with my heat exchanger or unit, and that it was definitely the gas valve MVP installed. When I called and asked them to come back out, I received a technician annoyed that I would dare question them. Instead of checking the gas valve when they came as I had asked, they proceeded to take out a camera to try and find damage to my heat exchanger to prove me wrong, which they couldn't. No damage, no crack, nothing. Why wasnt the camera used the first time, before telling me it was gone and I needed a new unit, and not just when I pushed back? They were going to have me buy a whole new furnace for $10k-$15k without even knowing if the part they said was damaged, was even damaged! The tech then reluctantly tested the gas valve he himself put him 2 weeks prior and had to admit, oh it's not working. Dont worry, this isnt the end of my story. When they then came out the next time to replace their faulty gas valve, the next one was leaking gas immediately upon installation! The tech was embarrassed and had no answer other than to tell my upset wife, we'll see you Monday. Come Monday, when no one reached out and I called, they told me it looks like Thursday now. That was it for us. That same day, I had one of those other opinions I received earlier in the month come over, and they proceeded to replace my gas valve in 3 hours of work. 3 HOURS! Furnace is up and running like it was just installed. These people are crooks. They're inexperienced. They don't care about the customer, just their bottom line. My kids spent Xmas morning opening up presents next to 2 space heaters they gave us while still pushing for me to buy a new furnace from them. This issue started December 2nd, and after two gas valves and 5 visits, by January 6th, we still didnt have a working furnace. One call to another expert and it was done in 3 hours. Me, my family, and friends are going to do our best to save all of you from this experience and get our story out there. DON'T DO IT. I implore you, don't call this business. If you can even call it that. And dont bother giving some meaningless apology on here, MVP. You admitted over and over, without emotion, that it wasnt handled correctly. Not to mention, the first time someone called me back was yesterday, after over a month I was finally allowed to speak to someone who just gave me excuses. Oh and the minute we gave any indication we might take our business elsewhere, their "manager" came to get their space heaters in less than 20 minutes. Fastest they worked the whole time!
