Cheesecake and cake (cookies are homemade)

We buy the sprinkle cake for just about every holiday celebration. This year was such a delight to open the box and see the elaborately decorated cake! It was perfect! We also ordered a small cheesecake. My family loved everything.

3 Stars because I am being nice. They note delivery of cookies. I hope they are fresher than the stuff the are currently selling in the open store. 7 layer cake slice, might likely have been there from Mothers' Day as possibly the black and white cookies. 1.2 price mothers day cake for 8 dollars - only the one that says Mothers Day or Mom on it, not the others right next to it; listed at Costly for items that just don't cut it. (see pix) Where Francesco's is still at a standstill for construction finish in Hicksville, there are still places like Dortoni's that still have a line of people waiting to buy fresh bakery items.

Cheesecake with strawberry. Apologies, I ate some lol

I've been coming here my whole life, I'm glad it hasn't changed. Cozy store, great coffee, even better cheesecake. There aren't many places like this left around, and a family business is always leagues better than some chain grocery store cake!

    My perfect engagement cake!

When others left the long strip of stores from Sunrise Highway up to Boundary Avenue, Francesco's opened two stores in different spots on Broadway, closed the other and kept this one active. Sevaroli's is long gone. Oreste Bakery is long gone. For a few years there is also Bestever at the far south end of Broadway, but its not as traditional Italian. Francesco's is here If you want good selections of fresh made Italian pastry, cannoli, just baked cakes, bread, biscotti, and butter cookies. This is a friendly small town local shop with local people working. Stopped in seeing lights on, decorating being done inside and outside on the windows, baking in the back etc... and the most Gingerbread Houses ever seen, then realized they were being courteous when I asked if they were closing soon. It was well after and they were happy to pause from their busy pace going on and get me a few things to go. Nice Christmas cookies looked and tasted great.

They taste and are the size of bagels you'd get at a Wegmans, or a supermarket. They don't have that very, very lightly crispness on the outside with a flurrier inside. These are dense and as you can see by my pictures, they don't get really thick like the better bagel stores. The price is also pretty crazy. 7 bagels and two containers of cream cheese was almost $40. That's just plain robbery, especially for an average, or below, bagel. I think the pre-packaged cream cheese was around ten bucks per 16 oz. and it tasted like store bought cream cheese with scallions mixed in. It didn't have that kind of sour punch that cream cheese from the city has. The staff was also really flat and seemed gruff. I am sure it was towards the end of their day ... but a little smile or even a 'thanks for your business' would have gone a long way. I def. won't be back here. Nothing beats a NYC bagel but there are places on Long Island that are almost as good. This is not. Even if the bagels were half the price, I likely wouldn't bother with the calories Being closer to the city, I would have expected better than Suffolk County bagels but honestly, Huntington and Hauppague have some real nice spots

I peruse everything on the display and the most expensive bottles were within eye sight level, i noticed Amarone and Barolo starting at $48 and up. Clearly, this was out of my budget, guy at cashier area recommended the $50 and above bottles, of course he said they were good. I asked if they had any wines under $20, he pointed to the floor and in the very bottom, i found single bottles of reds. It was more like one of kind samples of items not very popular. Among them, i noticed a bottle of Piemonte Barbera 2010. From what i read on the internet this is a wine that goes for $14 online. However at this store it was $15.99. The area where i found the wine, had a bunch of other wines but some had no prices. Walking up to cashier, he said the wine was $17.99. I told him that is not what the label stated. The floor sales person stated it had the wrong price on the shelf and he corrected the cashier. Cashier person did not like that and he kind of had an attitude. I was going to just walk away but it was a 2010 vintage, so i had to assume is a pretty good wine and it gives me a chance to try it while staying below my budget. The description on label reads 13% alcohol level, the wine has notes of dried black fruit, earthy spices, long finish on the palate with balanced acidity. I only walked into this store because i was next door at dollar city picking up junk food. The lack of customer service and the attitude from the cashier were extremely poor. While the sales person on the floor was a lot better. Most certainly I will not be coming back. My to go spot for wines in Joe Canals but that is jn NJ. Which explains why when i visit Joe Canals, i walk out with cases of wines to fill up my wine refrigerator and my credit card charge is anywhere from $175 to about $550 ( specially during the holidays) With that said, I hope the management of this store is aware of the terrible service the employees are providing and perhaps that is the reason why people do not come back to the store. If anyone is a wine fanatic, i recommend Leiser's jn flushing Queens. Very good customer service, excellent prices, great variety of wines from Greece, Portugal, Spain and Italy and you can certainly find good wines for under $15 that are top contenders.

During our first visit on a Monday afternoon, the store was fairly busy. When we reached the checkout, the cashier offered no greeting, no communication, and rushed our order through the register. What surprised us most was that there was no assistance with bagging our groceries. Having worked in the supermarket industry myself, I found the lack of customer service and basic courtesy disappointing. We left the store confused about whether customers are expected to bag all of their own groceries, as no one explained the process. Because of that first experience, we assumed this was store policy and were prepared to bag everything ourselves during our second visit. This time, the cashier was somewhat friendlier and at least greeted us, but the checkout process felt very rushed. We had 43 items and were actively bagging our groceries while my wife completed payment. Before we had finished organizing and bagging our purchase, another customer was directed to the checkout lane behind us and began moving our items aside to make room. The customer appeared frustrated, and the situation made us feel rushed and uncomfortable. Once again, there was no assistance from the cashier and no explanation of how customers are expected to manage bagging while the next order is already being processed. What made the experience even more frustrating was observing several employees elsewhere in the store appearing to have free time while customers at the front end were struggling to keep up with the checkout process. If the store's policy is for customers to bag their own groceries, that should be clearly communicated. If it is not the policy, then additional assistance at checkout would greatly improve the customer experience. We understand that retail is challenging and that stores must operate efficiently. However, customer service, communication, and courtesy still matter. Based on our first two visits, the checkout experience felt impersonal, rushed, and unnecessarily stressful. We hope management will review the front-end operation and consider ways to make the checkout process more welcoming and customer-friendly for both new and returning customers.
