Celebrating the 26th wedding anniversary and this restaurant did so much more than satisfy. The inside is open and attractive. The color pallet, consideration of sight lines and communal feeling was perfect. I expected a loud environment due to the openness, but it was cozy. We were greeted by the lovely and charming Patricia who ensured our evening was memorable. All of the staff stopped to say hi, check in and make sure we were taken care of. However, it wasn't because of our special event. It is just the nature of the staff. They made sure all patrons were looked after. The bar menu is abundant and includes multiple house cocktails and there is great happy hour menu as well as daily specials. We enjoyed the ribeye with cheese grits and seasonal vegetables and chicken Marsala. Everything was delicious and arrived at the table in under 15 minutes. We hope to return to enjoy the live music sessions soon. Definitely will be back and highly recommend thjs restaurant.

The Mahi Mahi dinner was absolutely divine - truly a 10 out of 10! Every bite was bursting with flavor, from the perfectly seasoned fish with the zesty citrus cream sauce..FIRE, to the creamy grits and fresh veggies. Ordered through Door Dash and it was still hot. Oh, the portion was also huge!!

Ambiance was beautiful. There was a live band. Ricardo sounds amazing on the guitar. The food was mediocre. Their take on a Caesar salad was very interesting. Drinks tasted watered down. Not sure if I'll revisit.

This place is a whole vibe! It's classy yet hip, and their presentation is on point! There is a bar downstairs and upstairs, and there's a ton of seating up and down for the restaurant. They have live music on the second floor, and it really sets the mood! My husband went there for date night, and it was fun and still romantic! The service was great! They gave great recommendations, and everything came out in a timely manner. We ordered the margarita flight, the Irish coffee, and the house margarita for drinks. They were all very tasty, and they have yummy options for the margaritas! If you have a group of people, they also offer shot flights served in an airplane, and they have a margarita tree! As our appetizers, we ordered the ferris wheel sampler and the lava cheese dip and chips with chorizo. Both were absolutely delicious! The ferris wheel is fun and has a bunch of great options on it. For our meals, we had the fajitas and The Bourbon Star. Definitely recommend both!

What a wonderful experience!! We had a group of 16 for lunch yesterday. Ambience is beautiful, food was delicious and served hot to all 16 of us in unison, drinks were wonderful and so tastefully presented. Our server was attentive and extremely informative and kind. We all just absolutely loved it and will be back!! Loved my vegan carbonara - always a treat when someone works hard on the vegan options!!

I attended a birthday dinner at Beyond The Sun. It was a great experience from start to finish. It was a party of about ten. I ordered an old fashion and it was good. We had appetizers that we shared and everything tasted good. For my entree, I got the salmon. It came with rice and vegetables. Everything was excellent. Our server was great as well. After dinner, we went upstairs to listen to the live music. The place is a very popular spot on Bardstown road. Next time I'm in town I will definitely come back!

20% gratuity added to parties of 6 or 8 or more?

The drinks are really good. So I highly recommend the alcoholic drinks. Cheers to the bartender. They definitely did their thing. The food? My order was horrible. I was at a table of SIX PEOPLE. We ordered food at different times throughout night. It should not have been overwhelming at all for the waiter nor the cook. Nor was it busy. The naked fried wings tasted like they were dipped in toilet water. They were bland. No seasoning at all. Not even salt and pepper were used to cook them. Highly do NOT recommended unless you are a sauce person. Dipped in sauce definitely helps with the taste. And you will be charged for the sauce on the side. My husband got the fettuccine Alfredo. He enjoyed it. I thought the grilled chicken was a little hard and again no seasoning. However, the fettuccine was not nearly as bad as the wings. The menu states the gratuity is added for parties of EIGHT or more. However it was automatically added for our party of 6. I was already leaving at least a 20% tip even though the service was mediocre. However, this added to the side eye I was giving due to the type of service we were already receiving. Im curious to know if this is truly a new policy and just has not been updated on their menu yet. The service. The manager was attentive and very open to feedback which I appreciated. The waiter was okay.. No real negative complaints and no outstanding remarks. I enjoyed the music. They played something for everyone to enjoy. Very diverse. Would I come back again? Yes.. just would probably not get any food. Would I recommend this place for others to try? Yes... To form your own opinion. Especially because the drinks were so good. And hopefully by the time you visit, they have made the necessary adjustments.

Well, maybe that's true because most restaurants fail and this one has been around for a while, but maybe it's because they're overcharging their customers instead of increasing their prices on the menu, and hoping the customers don't notice. I've never been so nickeled and dimed at a restaurant! I was so insulted that I handed his few dollar bills back to him and said I just wanted him to be transparent about what he was going to charge me, before he charged me! I asked for a Tilapia sandwich (menu price $8.95) and a Haddock sandwich combo (menu price $13.95 for the sandwich + cole slaw + fries). I asked if the sandwich came with anything on it, and he said no, but he could add pickle slices. He didn't tell me about an upcharge. I asked if I could substitute the fries in the combo for fried mushrooms. He said yes, but there would be a slight difference in price. I said that would be fine because the side items showed it was only a $0.45 difference in price (on the menu, french fries are $3.50 and fried mushrooms are $3.95). I asked if I could pay with credit card, and he said yes, but didn't mention a card fee. What I thought I would be charged: $8.95 + $13.95 + $0.45 = $23.35 + 6% tax = $24.71 total. Instead I was charged $30. When I asked him about it he said there was a $1 credit card fee that he had neglected to tell me about prior, and that instead of charging me for the difference between the price of the fries and mushrooms, he rang each item up separately instead of ringing it up as a combo (first of all, why would he do that??? and second of all, why wouldn't he tell me he was going to do that???). Then he told me he also charged me for the 5 skinny quarter-sized slices of bright green pickles you get from the jar. When I said, "you charged me for pickles?" He said, "of course I charged you for pickles!" So he charged me $8.95 tilapia sandwich + $9.95 haddock sandwich + $2.50 cole slaw + $3.95 mushrooms + $2.00 pickles (TWO DOLLARS FOR 5 SKINNY QUARTER SIZED PICKLE SLICES) + 6% tax + $1 credit card fee = $29.99 (AND OF COURSE HE DIDN'T GIVE ME THE PENNY NOR ASK IF I WANTED TO KEEP THE PENNY; HE KEPT THE PENNY FOR HIMSELF AND CHARGED ME THIRTY WHOLE DOLLARS FOR A $24.71 MEAL).Which isn't a big difference, but in this economy, adds up, and the LEAST they can do is be TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHAT THEY'RE GONNA CHARGE YOU. AND THEN WHEN YOU NOTICE THE DISCREPANCY AND KINDLY & CALMLY ASK IF THEY MADE A MISTAKE, THEY SHOULDN'T GET DEFENSIVE, RAISE THEIR VOICE AT YOU, AND THROW DOLLARS AT YOU IN FRONT OF A LINE OF CUSTOMERS. This was my first time here and I was excited to go back and try everything else. Instead, I'm never going back and I'm telling everyone I know.

The speakeasy downstairs looked enjoyable. I loved the lounging couches and chair chairs when you first went down the steps. It offers a particular vibe without it necessarily being hidden or extremely dark inside. Put this on your list as your destination spot or to grab a cocktail before or after a show downtown. Oh and the raw oysters? Humongous. Not super briny and if you don't like that taste you'll love these. These were seriously some of the biggest oysters I've ever seen. And the crab was just perfect.
