It was supposed to be a tostada - gross!
    Janay G.

I ordered $60 worth of food and when I opened the ONE piece of food for me it was disgusting. They didn't even bother to package it correctly. They wrapped it in aluminum foil and dumped all the salsa cups on top of it. I unwrapped it and the cheese was stuck to the top of the foil and the tortillas were soggy. When I called to complained they told me to complain to door dash. No interest in making it right. I will NOT be ordering from them again- not because of the mistake, because of the way I was spoken to by the manager and her lack of interest in keeping a customer that has ordered from them over 30 times since they've been open.

    Steak Gorditas. Very dry

No tables for dine in so that was a shocker considering they advertise dine-in. They still have their plastic covid wall up between you and the cashier which makes it hard to order / hear. Chicken Meat is seasoned pretty well but they put so much sour cream you can hardly taste the meat in the burritos. Wife got the steak Taco dinner. Mediocre at best. The steak was very unseasoned. Rice was super super bland. The beans were interesting but not horrible. Also tried their Steak Gorditas but they were super dry. Had to dip in salsa to make it edible Took a lot longer than expected to cook. Not the best but in a pinch it'll do. Lots of better Mexican restaurants Staff seems like they have an attitude and not the friendliest.

It's absolutely my favorite place to get tacos. I can't imagine going anywhere else. They are hands down the best

After living in the neighborhood for a year, we finally found ourselves ordering from this place. I have been going to Nottoli and Sons for a while and Meson Del Taco Express is just a block down from there. The menu was exciting with the option for a chimichanga or plenty of tacos, and we went enchiladas verde with cheese, chili relleno, and three tilapia tacos served with Spanish rice and beans and a choice of three salsas. The red salsa was wonderful, juicy and flavorful - the verde was sweet and spot on - and the last salsa was cilantro free with a little heat. The size of the fish portion was huge and marinated very well, delicious and filling! The enchiladas were top notch with so much cheese you could mistake one single enchilada for a slice of Lous pizza - so much cheese pull on these enchiladas! There was a slight seasoning on top of the dish that made it unique and set the dish into a higher level. Last, the relleno was filling - a large portion topped with sauce, peppers and tortillas on the side. Definitely a new go to spot!

Doesnt look like much when you walk pass. Another Chicago taco shop? WRONG. I live literally across the street and thank heaven for it coz these are some fire ass Mexican food. I've had their el pastor tacos, no onion or cilantro, FIRE. Right now I'm eating their chilaquiles and them boys are HOT. And so delicious. They didn't get all cheap with the cheese either and plenty of sour cream on the salad! Do not snooze on this place.

Bad avocado they charge $.75 for each

It's a no for me Dawg. Meat was hard, charge extra for some blackened avocado, and the interior just makes me uncomfortable. I'd rather be overcharged somewhere I know the food is quality.

The place is small with a hard time to walk around when it's full. It's a nice bar restaurant and didn't realized until we were leaving that there's a back area. The bartenders could be a little more social and happy bc that seem a bit dull and unhappy working there. Unlike Martin he was happy. Mildred was our server and she did phenomenal. We stood at the door for about 20 minutes before someone finally told us the wait would be 1-2 hours. Keep in mind, the place is pretty small and already crowded, so there's barely any room to stand while you wait. After getting on the waitlist, we decided to go to a nearby spot for food--but not even 5 minutes later, we got called back saying our table was ready. When we returned, we were seated along the wall in a very tight space--so tight that if I stretched my arm out, I would've hit the person next to me. We noticed a large table nearby had been sitting for a while without food. When their food finally came out, it made us realize our wait would probably be even longer. After another 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been able to order, we decided to leave. I'm not sure the space is fully ready for the rush right now--it feels overcrowded and service is slow. I'll give it another try once the hype dies down. I'm happy for their success, though--just be prepared to be patient when you go.

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. The music, the energy, the vibe inside, everyone celebrating, the drinks flowing -- it felt like the perfect Cinco de Mayo dinner spot. The service was also AMAZING from start to finish and made the entire experience even better. One of those dinners where you leave already talking about when you're coming back If you're looking for the place to celebrate Cinco de Mayo, date night, tacos & margaritas, or honestly just an incredible dinner in general... this is IT

When we tried them we realized she accidentally gave us each other's. No big deal but it happened again with the food when a different server brought it out. She stopped once to take our order and once to bring the drinks. That's it. We did not get checked on until we were already almost done with our food. Cute patio. Inside seating wasn't busy at all.

Appetizers were quac and chips, and shrimp ceviche. The guac was really good, but the ceviche was the star. Served on a bed of cucumbers, it was visually beautiful, and the flavor was fresh and complex. There was also a LOT of it. We ended up taking some home. Entrees were steak and shrimp for me, and Tampiquena for my friend. In both dishes, the steak was done to perfection. The sauce that came with my shrimp was spicy and deep--lots of flavor layers there. Both of us took home portions of our meals because there was a lot of food on the plates. Finally, the service--the servers are attentive without hovering. If we needed something, they were there, but never intrusive. It is hard to believe this is a little neighborhood spot, given the service and the quality of the food. It was not too busy tonight--we ate early--but I recommend reservations. It is very popular with the neighborhood. Bottom line, we each had 2 margaritas, appetizers, and entrees, and our bills with tip were around $105.00 each--totally worth it! Only real negatives were that they did not offer any draft beer options and the Chips y Salsa ($3.75) had a meager quantity of chips to eat their tasty and generous tomatillo and 3-chile salsa options.
