Amazing service and best Mexican food I've ever had so far. I would definitely come here again. This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars!!

Service can be hit or miss BUT the tacos are freaking delicious! I always get the fajita beef, pastor and carnitas. The fajita beef is tender, juicy and super flavorful. The taco portions are generous and only cost $2. You can order them with flour or corn. I believe they add $.50 cents extra for fajita beef. This place is authentic and better than other Mexican restaurants in my opinion. I keep coming back for more. read more

I wanted to give them NO stars. Disappointed cause I wanted to like this place cause it's close by. I ordered 2 build your own burritos, with fajita beef, beans, rice, & sour cream on one & fajita beef, cheese & sour cream on the other. I ordered my Mom huevos rancheros with no onions. Well I got home opened the bag to find 2 bean & cheese burritos & huevos rancheros with extra onions. Granted I know their busy & they just opened but that's no excuse to get your order completely wrong. I didn't mind the wait cause I know their busy, but to have my order completely wrong. This place is pretty good! I think they're going to do really well. Meats (we tried 4 of the 8) were solid and prices are great for food quantity. We had tacos and a torta. Margaritas were tasty (but the jumbo top shelf is $12+ dollars). Wish the chips were house-made but this is a little place so that's probably not feasible yet. They're still streamlining their service but they're very friendly so I'm not worried about it; they've been open less than a week and they make up for in nice attitudes what they lack in efficiency. Go check them out. It'll be great to have someplace close besides the taco stand (which is also good!) looking forward to trying more menu items. read more

I really tried with this establishment. Tried twice. Service is good, they really do their best to get things right. Staff is young and inexperienced but I give them kudos for their efforts. The chips to start are not good. The salsa is decent. I've had much better and much worse. We have had the tacos (fajita), enchiladas (chx) with tomatillo and gravy, beef fajitas traditional, menudo and elote. The elote was very rich. They can improve that by grilling fresh corn made to order. The menudo had good flavor. Enchiladas were okay. The fajitas were pretty ordinary the guacamole that came with them was terrible. They did remake it which was awesome, however, it was underwhelming (light on the avocado and heavy on the pico). My niece liked her tacos. I really tried but can't really justify returning. Hmmm We had been to Mestizos before for dinner and I told my husband that I thought we weren't impressed but couldn't recall why. We decided to give them another chance as our favorite taco place was closed. Since our mouths were already set for tacos that's what we ordered. I had a Barbacoa taco, Carnitas taco & a ground beef taco (all on corn tortillas). The barbacoa was not like real barbacoa at all in flavor or consistency. Of the three tacos it did have the most flavor but was more like brisket than barbacoa. The carnitas were bland and tough, tough and crunchy; like chopped up end pieces. The ground beef taco was the worst. The meat was ground so fine it was mushy (yuk) & I left most of it on the plate. My husband ordered 3 tacos as well.; fajita asada, pastor & barbacoa (also on corn tortillas). He agreed about the batbacoa and added that all the meats were cut up into little chunks; which he believes is the restaurant's attempt to stretch their meat supplies (a pet peeve). The amount of meat in each taco was pretty sparse as well. Their salsas were tasty (so I know they understand flavors but did not seem to transfer to their meats). Not the best.. not the worst- but local makes it convenient and quick. The wait staff is super young, extremely slow, and very immature.. the food is hit and miss.. some days are way better than others. Just decided to try on a whim. We are not from this area. Bar area was full and everyone is drinking margaritas so they must be good! I had Barbacoa enchiladas and daughter had beef and cheese. It was authentic and great. Nice portions. The queso dip was also good and we tried both the green and red salsa. Red was very hot for us but green was awesome! We will be back. Worst service ever. It took almost 7 minutes to get a drink after I ordered it. We wanted some queso but when he came by the table to deliver the drinks he didn't stop for a split second before taking off and he didn't give us a chance to ask. I finally had to squeak it in there that we wanted a queso. Over 10 minutes later- no queso and he still had not come back to take our order. After being there 20 minutes I finally had to walk to the bar and ask if we could place our order. Oh, andddd they were NOT busy. Sooooo, after over 15 minutes of waiting for the queso, the table behind us (who arrived AFTER we ordered our queso) got one delivered to their table. First I want to say the restaurant is very tiny. It wouldn't be an issue but no hostess to say wait for a table. You just had to grab one when it came available. Also standing awkwardly by the front door. This had great reviews which is why we decided to try it. We ordered combo fajitas and queso. The queso was basically canned cheese warmed up. No peppers or any real flavor. The fajitas were super bland. In fact the chicken had NO seasoning on it. Very dry and bland. Again great reviews but we were not impressed. Service was horrible. Took forever for the server to get to us then he acted like we were bothering him. It was clean so I gave it a 2 star for that. read more

My daughter and I try new local business on the weekend, all weekend long, when she comes home two to three times a month. I had been seeing this restaurant on face book for about two months and we put it on our schedule for this morning. The wait time was not long. When the waiter escorted us to our table I asked her for a booth. She responded we had to chose the open tables. Well one table was dirty. I chose the next clean table. The restaurant was not packed and had multiple booths and open tables available. As we order our food one white couple came in, then another one and even a Hispanic couple were all seated at a booth. After these people were seated, even a man eating alone was seated in a booths. I recommend to my daughter to just pay for the mimosas and leave. She request for me to chill and try to enjoy our meal. Let's discuss the meal... the banana foster pancakes and barbacoa and grits, and the raspberry mimosa was exceptionally delicious. The mimosa was one of the best ones I have had. The two single eggs I order scrambled hard was not good at all. Our wait was good. My boyfriend and I went here the other night on a Monday. Only a couple tables inside. We sat at the bar top and had incredible service!!!! We had a lady as our server and she was so sweet. We both were in shock that we have not been there before. Besides such fantastic service, the tacos were delicious! Authentic tacos indeed!!! They had over 6+ meats to choose from! Corn tortillas were cooked to perfection. Also, we were offered three sauces to try with our tacos! Each one was delicious. Also, the prices were really inexpensive. Only $2 for a taco! Impressive. My boyfriend and I eat here all the time. Recently they changed the sizes of their Margaritas a large now is a small and a small is in a juice glass. Needless to say we won't be ordering Margaritas there anymore. Also we ordered an appetizer. He brought it out with our main course. I told him we wanted the appetizer before our main course. The very young smug waiter said I should have told him that. I didn't realize I had to tell a waiter that. It was obvious that we both ordered full entree's for our main. The food here is excellent and we can watch sports too. Please put Margaritas in Margarita glasses not water glasses. Explain to your waitstaff that an appetizer is a pre meal item. read more

Service was a little less to be desired . Had to ask for everything to include silverware. Hamburger asked for a double meat and got two small patties that could probably be the size of a regular burger . If the size of the meat was that small the bun would be huge ! 1 star rating is way more than they deserve. We walked in this place a week ago to get a menu . We decided to give it try after a customer that was There told us that it was very good and one of the employees there told us that it would be the best Mexican restaurant we've ever tried that same week we came back the experience was horrible. The communication with the employees was bad . We had an issue with tacos we order and asked if they could remake them we were told they would have to charge us again since they had to remake them. Regardless we paid our bill and left a tip . We are very easy to please but with this being our first visit and nnit being good .... we will definitely not be going back . read more

Great little spot for good food, cold drinks and warm staff. Try the campechano tacos with the green salsa, no not the one they give you with the chips, ask for the squirt bottles. It's delicious!! I also enjoy the pastor, beef fajita and chicken tinga. The tortas are plenty good sized and have great flavor, too. The staff is great, especially Edgar the bartender. He remembers your name and drink choice and is a really good guy. So is Jacob who runs the joint and all the other staff. I'm lucky to have this place in front of the neighborhood, they've saved my butt when I forgot to thaw out something for dinner or just had one of THOSE days and need to feed the family. A couple times I was making fajitas at home and realized I didn't have any tortillas left so I went by and bought some from them. They didnt laugh at me for being and idiot, rather they totally understood and hooked me up. Piping hot and delicious! Im a big stickler for good chips and salsa at mexican restaurants and i loved theirs. Warm chips and super flavorful red and green salsas.
