Next time we may decide to share a sandwich bc they were decent sized. After we ate we did some shopping, found a few things that our supermarket didn't carry. We'll be back to try some of the other sandwiches. It was worth the 20 minute drive for us.

Overall, there were definitely more hits than misses. The deli offers an impressive variety of hot foods. The sandwiches coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and there are plenty of pasta dishes and traditional Italian entrées available as well. We didn't order a hot meal on this visit, but we'll definitely be back to try one. The market section is also worth browsing. They carry a wide selection of pastas, sauces, olive oils, canned tomatoes, and other Italian staples. My only suggestion would be to expand the specialty pasta selection with options like squid ink, spinach, or roasted red pepper varieties. Of course, we couldn't leave without visiting the bakery case. We brought home an assortment of Italian cookies, a black and white cookie, a Napoleon, chocolate cannolis, and a brownie. The brownie was the one item that didn't impress us, but everything else was delicious and tasted fresh. One thing to be aware of is parking. The lot is quite small, and both we and several other customers ended up parking across the street. It's not necessarily something the business can control, but it's worth mentioning if you're visiting during a busy time. The fact that this shop has been around for decades says a lot about the quality and loyal customer base they've built over the years. Overall, we had a very good experience and are looking forward to returning to explore more of the deli offerings.

Walking inside feels a little like a sandwich shop, arcade and pop-culture time capsule had a baby... and then covered that baby in bumper stickers! At this wonderfully weird, slightly chaotic, old-school Phoenix institution, you can get an Italian sub for $2.99 and add a 24-oz fountain drink for another $2. In 2026. In Phoenix. Yes, those prices are American dollars. So... what inflation? Now, this is of course their cheapest deal, but the rest of the menu is still really reasonably priced. Minimalists, avert your eyes. Every available inch is covered in bumper stickers, vintage photos, signs, collectibles and random quirky artifacts, with old-school arcade games thrown into the mix. It's the kind of place where you could spend your entire meal just reading the walls. I got the veggie sub, which came loaded with FOUR different kinds of cheese, plus all the veggies, and they filled that thing TO. THE. BRIM. Fresh, flavorful, gloriously overstuffed, and messy in the best possible way. Also, the best service - the staff really is the sweetest over there, which I wouldn't necessarily expect from this kind of establishment. An easy 5 stars for me!

Everywhere you look you will see something new, and there are a ton of stickers all over everything as well with silly sayings, so you could spend quite a bit of time here just looking at everything. Price wise, it is on par with other sub shops such as Subway or Jersey Mikes, they had a few deals on the windows out-front however when we looked at the menus, we didn't see anything about the deals mentioned. The sandwiches themselves were good, instead of having big chicken meat chunks like Subway tends to have in their sandwiches they had deli shaved chicken. There were eight of us in total who had a sub, and none of us were unhappy with our sandwich. I would stop by again if I were in the area to grab a bite to eat and take a look at everything in the shop again.

I would order that again to take home and serve with dinner. I love the kale salad and it never disappoints. Cool and sweet and getting your greens in is a win! I know some of you are uneducated about the quality of a meatball sandwich & that's ok, I'm not judging so do not be offended. To begin... This is a neighborhood place just like back east , nestled in a neighborhood on the corner hidden from the strip mall garbage. When you come here, and you better, do not be distracted by the path to tasty food. It is in an older neighborhood with minimal parking but fantastic personalities, service & FOOD! Upon entry it's a time warp for us who grew up in a time that was better. This is a good Olde Fashion deli that sells great food with amazing service. Franks is a family place. Back to the real topic... Meatball Sandwich; when you ask what is the cheese that use & the owner is educated on quality be states "Provolone on the bottom, Mozzarella on top" just know you're in the right place! The flavor is top notch, added some cherry peppers to spice it up just right, bell peppers & onions are standard. Took it to go, drove about 20 minutes to where I needed to be, the aroma was teasing me, the concern of the sandwich being cold or soggy rang in my mind while driving the 17 to the 10.. I was nervous, anxious & salivating.... Opening the togo container to see the glorious sandwich! The meatballs are still hot, the sauce is holding place & the bread is still bread, not some soggy remnant of dough! Thank you for the pride, quality & tasty sandwich.

In my previous visits we have had the Meatball, Sausage, and Ruben sandwiches. I was hoping to try the Steak sandwich and was fortunate to get one today. Last time we went to Frank's they didn't have it on the menu that day. It comes with cheese ( I chose Provolone ) , lettuce, tomato, and mustard instead of mayo. The steak is Pork Butt ( a shoulder cut) . I loved it. It was sooo moist, tender, and flavorful. Another sandwich for my repertoire . My friend had a Meatball sandwich. You can't go wrong with that choice. Needless to say he loved his sandwich too. Today we got lucky to get a table to have our lunch. You have to come early for lunch . It gets crowded around 11:30 .
