A friend recommended this diner so I decided to go try it out with her today (8/9/20). Never noticed it before in the landings, but it's really cute inside. We walked in and the host was on her phone so it took a minute to get acknowledged. We got sat after waiting 45 minutes, when we were told it would only be about 20. We asked for our table to be wiped down, but the host gave us an eye roll. Figured maybe it had just been a busy morning, so I shook it off. I was really excited to try the Shrimp and Grits, and it lived up to my expectations! Our server Emily was great, which made up for the less than warming welcome at the front door! We will be asking for her whenever we come from now on! Thank you Emily, for the great service and making sure we were all set to enjoy a delicious Sunday brunch! My wife Sandye and I have been going to Metro since it opened. The waitress and waiters all outstanding. This July the 4th, during a late breakfast, Bobbie Joe waited on us and I paid with my debit card. We got to talking and I left my debit card on the table under some napkins or receipt. Josh, one of the buss boys, while cleaning the table found it. He immediately took it to Ken, the general manager. I did not miss my debit card until four hours later. We had breakfast this morning and rewarded Josh for his honesty. He is very highly thought of by the entire staff. this place is a JOKE. we sat at our table for ten minutes and watched two other tables be seated and had their orders taken and still had no one talk to us or even acknowledge that we were sitting there. when we asked to speak to the manager the server laughed and walked to the back and started running her mouth to another server instead of getting the manager. she finally came back out and said he'd be out in a moment. after 15 minutes of waiting around I asked for their names and gave up waiting. And conecuh sausage is already smoked, it doesn't need to be smoked until it is dried out and basically burnt.
