We've been wanting to try this place since we heard about it on Yelp. I am glad we did. The food was good and plentiful and reasonably priced. It was casual and comfortable inside. We decided to go for the breakfast side of the menu with eggs, bacon, omelets and sausage gravy with biscuits although it is for brunch and salad and sandwiches are also available. The fact that they have very reasonably priced cocktails is just a big plus. We didn't get one today but watched them make a Bloody Mary and next time it's a big yes. The service was fantastic and I watched all the servers and cooks moving swiftly and with a smile. The steady stream of customers coming in convinced me we'd made the right choice. I ordered the Holiday Feast for my Thanksgiving dinner and I'm glad I did. It was super easy to heat up (about 40 minutes) and we had a full Thanksgiving meal. It was a good deal for $55. The cornbread stuffing was my favorite part. I called to order by phone but you could also order delivery online. I just had to choose between turkey or ham and pumpkin or pecan pie. Metro Diner is an awesome place whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. I personally go frequently for breakfast. Their avocado toast is simply awesome, and I always add two eggs scrambled. I could eat this daily it's so good. Other meals I've had include their fried chicken, fish and chips, and their burger bowl. All top notch Outside of the food, service is amazing. Staff so friendly, food always fast, and drinks always full. They remember the regulars, such as myself, and make things more welcoming overall. Erik, the manager, is clearly running a great place. I cannot speak on other foods besides what we ordered, so that will be what I focus on, as well as the lackluster service. We arrived to metro and were excited about the big menu of good sounding foods! My partner ordered the oven baked meatloaf and I got chicken "wings" and a rice bowl with salmon. Our server gave us our food, but never gave us any silverware and did not come back to check on us, which made me have to find the host and ask for silverware. I liked my partner's oven baked meal, but I did not like my rice bowl at all. There were so many pieces of cabbage and random things that it just tasted like mush. If there were any seasoning, it definitely got hidden underneath all the random ingredients. On another note, the chicken wings I ordered were actually chicken nuggets. And they tasted as if they were sat out for too long or freezer burnt. When the nuggets came, they looked dry and barely had any sauce on it. It's a straight up lie to say that you're selling wings when you're actually selling chicken nuggets. It's a big difference and I'm sure management knows that. This is one of those instances where I wished I just got a simple burger. We are not coming back. read more

I stopped for lunch, and I was seated right away. My server came right over and took my order. I asked for the roast turkey plate along with a cup of soup. She came right back with my soup which was thick and tasty, just like I like it. After the soup she brought out my meal and the Turkey looked and tasked wonderful. This looks like it is cooked in the kitchen and not just sliced meat. The gravy was good, but the mashed potatoes were a little too lumpy for my taste but overall, this was a very good meal. We decided to come early for breakfast today. We were seated right away. Our server, Brittany, was excellent and attentive. I wasn't super hungry so I got the avocado toast which was perfect! I was planning on running some errands in the area, so decided to stop in for breakfast. It was 9 am on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was about half full, so we were seated promptly. Right upon being seated the waitress greeted us and began reading the daily specials, which are also written on a large board in the back of the restaurant. They menu is quite expansive and they offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner options all day long. They also offer mimosas and bloody mary's for just $2.99, what a deal! I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict with hash browns and my friend ordered the spicy honey chicken biscuit and a side of hash browns with cheese. Both entrees came out quick and piping hot. The eggs benedict were good overall, but the crab cakes had a little bit too much of a fishy taste for my liking. I wish I would've gotten the regular eggs benedict instead. But I did like the hash browns, as they had a nice crisp. My friend really enjoyed her meal and we both left nice and full! Lastly, I want to note that the service was superb. Clean and appealing, with super friendly staff and a wonderful selection of housemade breakfast favorites -- from in-house corned beef hash (NOT from a can, thank you) to a selection of eggs Benedicts that all looked delish, omelets and hashes to your specifications, biscuits and gravy... I stared at that menu for a long, long time sipping my coffee and Bloody Mary (which is a breakfast special, along with mimosas, and was offered first thing -- which I seriously loved). I got the corned beef hash and eggs, with a side of hollandaise sauce and an English muffin. They gave me a PILE of food -- which was great, because I was famished. So! HG's pineapple mimosa was a bit meh... canned or from-concentrate fruit juice is generally subpar. My Bloody Mary was good -- I tend to like them a bit more spicy and robust -- but I still adore that they have breakfast drink specials. My corned beef hash was tender and not too salty, and wonderful with the perfect poached eggs on top. The hollandaise sauce was good, not great, but worked on my improvised corned beef hash Benedict. And a side of it was a HUGE bowl -- plenty enough to cover any dish, had I wanted to. Coffee was hot and constantly refilled -- not up to my Pacific Northwest Coffee Snob standards, but it was fresh and plentiful and got the job done. Price for stuffing my face was totally reasonable. Anyway waited about 10 min with 3 ahead of us. The place was packed it was our first fully open restaurant and was a little nervous. They have breakfast all day and alcohol. The Bloody Mary and mimosas hit the spot and we ordered breakfast. The food portions are HUGE. I basically had two chicken breasts in a single biscuit. I have never seen an owner/boss treat their employees as badly as the guy here did. It was absolutely disgusting. Walking in, it felt like a restaurant built on racism and misogyny. As my meal went on, I felt unwelcomed and uncomfortable from the general environment. My waitress, Roxanne, was amazing though and was the only reason I decided to stay for the duration of my meal. As for the food, the food tasted worse than the food I used to have in high school. No offense. But canned green beans.. really? My husband and I went here on a Saturday afternoon around 4p. We were greeted and seated inside immediately. All staff members were wearing masks, and the tables were Social Distanced. The restaurant was nice and clean. Our server arrived within minutes of us sitting down. She got our drink orders and brought them back quickly. She was very knowledgeable about the menu and made quality recommendations. Our food didn't take long to arrive. Everything was hot and fresh. The portions were large for the price. Everything was REALLY good! The fish was seasoned well, however there were a few portions under the breading that was "gummy like". My husband's toast was also a little burnt. We've visited the Casteton location a couple times so we were familiar with the menu. I've become quite fond of their chicken and waffles so I was torn as to if I would venture out and try their other tasty options or stay with my tried and true. On the list for me this visit was their Crab cake Benedict; their cinnamon roll pancakes or ole faithful-chicken and waffles. (Is your mouth drooling yet?!!?) So as I thought I could eat all these-I quickly realized that these portions are HUGE and there was no way for me to indulge in all three- I decided to go with ole faithful. This time, I added strawberries on top ($1 extra). And to put my sugar conscience at rest, I ordered a side salad (lol) Food took about 20-25 mins to come out (about average) so no complaints there. My hubby was a bit more adventurous than I, as he ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes with an order of chicken with a side of fruit. So our table was soooo full. Our waitress Alex was probably wondering where we were putting all this food-but no worries we put a nice dent in our meals. We had to take to-go boxes of course, but still. Also, hubby tried both their "Jamaican me crazy" coffee (yum) and their peach iced-tea. Our meals were delicious. Alex was great; as she answered every possible alternative hubby requested and was patient doing so. She was on point filling coffee before we asked; refilled water and teas very promptly-she was great. So no disappointments with Metro's second location. We were seated immediately at the bar, which we requested and were greeted warmly and promptly by Taylor or maybe Tiffany. Our food was delicious and delivered quickly. I will return to try some other items on the menu and their prices are pretty reasonable so it is a place to check out. This was just my initial experience. Avoid Baywolf if you want a better experience. And unless you want something flavorless, I do not recommend the burger bowl. So much hot sauce was used to make it palatable. read more

We have been to other Metro locations in different cities and that one didn't score as high as those. Taylor was our server and she was a very nice person but talks way to much to the people she waits on. She had to be called 3 - 4 times before she brought our food to the table. The hamburger was ok but the bacon on it was under cooked and the onion rings were too well done. I couldn't even see the onion in the casing. We won't be back to this Metro. By the way.... always keep the ice tea made so people don't have to wait for it!! read more

I am in love after one visit and will be back! I've heard excellent things about their fried chicken, including from southern women who know their soul food and one recommended this as the best fried chicken in the city. I came in on a weekday an hour before closing (partly because this visit was on a whim and I partially have never gone before because they are usually very busy with an intimidating full parking lot). SERVICE Seating was wherever I liked at this hour and my server was absolutely delightful. I told her it was my first time, and she was so excited and helpful! Another staff member was amazing - he was running around a lot but also said he cooked food in the back, so I dunno, maybe he was a manager? Anyways, the server told him it was my first time and he was SO welcoming! Twice I had random questions, and he gave me all of his attention - first time he crouched next to my table and made eye contact and the second he just pulled up a chair. He explained how they made the chicken, how he's from the south and knows his food, so he appreciates this place's food, and so on. Apparently they bribe the chicken about 24-48 hours (I forget exactly) then marinate it another day, and the batter also has seasoning...a LOT of work goes into these! FOOD I had the fried chicken dinner entree and lemme tell you - the mashed potatoes that came out were the best I've had in this entire city!!!! The fried chicken was very well flavored. Even the next day I warmed up a breast piece at work and (obviously) the fried batter isn't good after microwaving but wow! The meat still had so much flavor. What was super amazing is they said the dinner was half a chicken, and damn it really was. One great breast piece, two wings, and 1 or 2 other pieces as well. The dinner came with vegetables but i didn't care for them - the server said they will substitute for another side. Also! I told them I wish I had gotten the Mac and cheese AND THEY GAVE ME A SMALL BOWL AS A FREE SAMPLE! And daaaang the Mac and cheese honestly is so good!!!! I felt compelled to write a review to warn about the very poor quality of the most easy to prepare food from here. I ordered an all meat omelette with hash browns and biscuit for delivery to warm up for next day's breakfast. The egg was rubbery but worse than that was I crunched down on a most disgusting piece of gristle fat piece hard and disgusting! The hash browns were drenched in oil which is not necessary for cooking. The biscuit was overly cooked and hard. Total waste of money!! Based on this disgusting food I will never eat there again. This place has become very special to me over the years it's where we go when my father visits from Ohio and he is obsessed! It's the first place my husband and I ate after we got married and where we did our pregnancy announcement. Heres why..
