I was torn between a 3 star / 4 star review. We were in after the dinner rush on a Wednesday night. There were probably 7 other seated tables. Sat down right away, someone got our drink order then said our server would be back. Nope. 25 minutes later a waitress must have seen the pitiful look of hanger on my face and said, "Have you guys ordered yet?... cause I feel like you've been sitting here awhile." We finally get to order (after another 4 tables have been sat and ordered their food before we got to). I should mention that I counted the amount of staff while waiting and there were at least 22 employees (including kitchen staff) so the slow issues weren't from a lack of bodies. Our food came fairly quickly and was hot. Husband got chicken and waffles which were delicious. The strawberry butter could be a dessert. I got the pot roast, tender and flavorful. It came with mashed potatoes which I typically do not eat, but theirs were buttery and creamy. My kid got mac and cheese, it was just ok. We were never offered drink refills and a check came promptly without asking us if we wanted dessert... our waitress seemed annoyed when we told her we wanted the bread pudding. She never cleared any of our plates before bringing it out. Bread pudding came out steaming hot from the microwave. It has a decent flavor, but nothing to rave about and I wouldn't order it again. It took a long time to get a new bill from our not so amazing waitress ...$44 before tip seems a little pricey, but we did get dessert. This is a Florida restaurant chain. The staff is amazing and the menu is a Diner Menu. We enjoyed our meal and have heard others say the same. Ask for recommendations - the staff are happy to help. On a funny note... I ordered a shrimp & pasta dish (nope, not a "Diner Menu Item". My meal arrived with absolutely no shrimp! Our waitress was embarrassed - she had asked the kitchen personnel why the dish did not look like it was correct and they assured her all was well. Went for breakfast on Friday morning. The Viera football team has their breakfast there. We were greeted by our delightful server, Willie. He was very efficient and friendly. I ordered the Chicken & waffles. It was the best fried chicken so crisp and moist on the inside. Delicious! My husband had the biscuits & gravy, a huge plate comes w2 eggs and hash brown potatoes. Had a disappointing experience this morning. My wife and I wanted to try a new place for breakfast. We were seated right away since we were there before 8 AM. It wasn't busy yet. When a couple was seated next to us, they were asked if they wanted coffee. The same hostess had neglected to ask us that. So my wife mentioned that we'd like some too. When it came, the cup wasn't clean on the rim. Strike 3 was when that same couple, who came in after us, ordered, and we still hadn't seen our waitress. We waited a few more minutes and then walked out. They blew their chance to make a good impression. The manager made excuses rather than owning up and apologizing. Weekday pop in for lunch. Ordered the meatloaf special. Disappointed that it didn't come with mashed potatoes only hash browns. That seemed weird. Plate came with some grilled veggies which were good. Also a piece of toasted French bread with no butter. Dry. It came with two generous slabs of tasteless, mealy meatloaf with a strange, gelatin-esque , very light tan gravy, not a hearty rich brown gravy that one would expect. I think they are rather expensive, but then again everything's expensive now. This restaurant sits in a strip mall but they have done their best to soften that fact with plants and a water feature. I've eaten at 4 Metro Diners to date (5/05/19), this one on Wickam being the latest and the busiest. The expediter at this location is the best I've ever seen, perfectly suited for this busy, busy environment, where you need to get people seated fast, served piping hot, well prepared food (Bravo kitchen staff) and then out for the next wave, yet still leave them with that feeling that they've been well taken care off. (Bravo servers) 8 of us that Sunday, still on a high from 2 awesome college graduations, the end to a perfect 4 day week-end. Served perfectly executed eggs Benedict of all kinds, super crispy hash browns, a rare burger, cooked to perfection, Mimosas and damn good Bloody Marys. The wait was bearable for breakfast, 20 minutes, although there were seats available. Took another 10 minutes for our server to arrive, but at that point we were ready to order. Wife and I ordered the same meals Eggs and hash browns and a side of bacon to share. Was assured the eggs would be server over medium with no white slime. My meal came quickly, but with slimy eggs. Waitress said she would have them remade with no slime. 5 minutes later they came back hard as a rock, no soft yolk at all. My wife still had not gotten her order yet. Ordered white toast and was served 1 piece of white and 1 piece of wheat. Waitress reordered toast and was returned with no butter. I finally finished my breakfast as my wife's order arrived. First visit. Went with Mom and Dad on a Thursday 130pm. Greeted with friendly approach and were seated. Emily our wait staff person ran through the specials and the Chicken and Waffles sounded good but the portion was way too big. Hungry but not that hungry. Mom Iron City meatloaf. Dad had turkey entre and I had Shepperd's Pie. Emily was on point throughout our meal. She played up to Dad and made Dad (age 84) feel special. Clean with a nice diner vibe. Had a counter to sit at which is a diner staple. Our 3 meals were excellent and service was beyond reproach. Walking out Mom says to Dad let's visit here again. Whoa! This food was freakin magical! I ordered the chicken and waffles along with the fruity waffle and was not disappointed one bit! First of all the portion is giant It can feed a family of four. We come here from time to time. This time we brought friends with us and the food wasn't as good as it was in the past. I usually get the chicken parm dinner which was better than most restaurants in the area but this time they must have changed there chicken distributor cause it definitely wasn't the same plus amount of the breast was a lot smaller pasta was dry they added a extra piece of bread which must be the replacement of the chicken breast which doesn't make sense. Wife got the chicken pot pie and it wasn't no where near the last time she ordered it. Friends had chicken and waffles which still looked good and they liked and portion size didn't change on that. When they finally told me to sit anywhere it was difficult to do because all of the tables were dirty.
