I have dinner there frequently since they are 2 doors down. The staff is fantastic and I enjoy the food. There are 2 other places to eat in the plaza but I choose Metro. Across the street (maybe 5 minutes to walk) is a Long Island pizza joint. Awesome pizza but I like the food at Metro but love their personnel, especially those who have been around for awhile. I want to thank the women that have taken care of me over the past couple of years and I'm terrible with names. Ladies, you have been fantastic over the last 2+ years. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Metro Diner has amazing breakfast! They have cinnamon roll and seasonal lemon blueberry pancakes that taste like a doughnut or pastry. I had their avocado toast with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The yolk made it the most wonderful breakfast. I truly feel like I am eating as royalty do when I come here. The staff is so attentive and they truly take care of you like family. VERY unhappy with the Melbourne chicken salad. I really like it for lunch, and have it often at any restaurant I frequent. Three times in the last few months I have been eating my chicken salad sandwich, and it goes "crunch". They don't correctly cut and dice the chicken, and aren't smart enough to remove the cartilage. Today was the the last time....third strike and they are out. If they can't prepare chicken salad correctly, what else is wrong. I'm done with Metro Diner. read more

Not a great experience. Service was super slow. Food was a mix of low quality and lacking in preparation. There were flies all over the place and the prices were high, even for the area. Wow, loved this place! My husband and I came in to try this place. We'd just gotten our eyes dilated and couldn't read the menu well. Luckily for us, our server, Pam, was awesome!!! First off, the place was full, but we were seated within about 5 min of coming in. I wanted to mention, we were immediately welcomed by Charlie! He was so kind and made us feel right at home from the literal moment that we walked through the doors! Second, like I said, Pam was awesome and so helpful. She was basically, the perfect server. My husband and I used to visit diners often, but haven't in a while. Pam honestly gave us the best diner experience.. Charlie even came by to check on us and tell us a funny story before clearing our table. Third, my husband and I absolutely loved the chicken and waffles with strawberry butter! Every part of it was delicious and freshly made! We can't wait to come back and try some other meals! Edit: came back with the kids...my picky 5 year old gave 1000 stars (and ate all his food) and my 9 year old who asked to go to a different restaurant at first said he changed his mind, the metro diner was way better read more

Big fan. My son's favorite place for Chicken and Waffles. And it's great that he can get it boneless. We love the Bloody Mary's. They listen when we say we like spicy. Been there for breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both experiences. On our last visit I got a traditional Turkey dinner that came with some delicious Chocolate Bread Pudding. I had to take it with me, I was so full. But it heated up beautifully. We've only had good service, so can't complain there either. We didn't know it was a chain until we were there, but it didn't matter, it's got the feel of a neighborhood place to enjoy. Definitely somewhere we'll go back to. read more

I really like this place. It gives you that old 50's diner feel to it. I've been here a few times, and everything i've had thus far has been great. I've had meatloaf and mash potatoes, another time, i had a plain spinach, ham n cheese omelet, and Fried Chicken and Waffles. Which I believe the chicken and waffles is what this diner is mainly known for. I can vouch for their fried chicken. It's probably one of the best if not the best place to get fried chicken in terms of eating out in this area. the chicken is crispy, has magnificent flavor throughout the crust and meat. The waffles are great too, but what sets Metro apart from other breakfast establishments is that they have a strawberry butter that you spread over the waffle. Made my second visit to this place and it wasn't worth the trip. I didn't eat the food and just paid my bill and left. I wanted to breakfast for dinner so I ordered and biscuits and sausage gravy with eggs and hash-browns. I sat at the bar again so I could see the kitchen and I saw immediately why my meals wasn't going to be very good. For the biscuit and gravy the pulled two old biscuits out that were stale, pulled apart and layer in the plate and the scooped some old gravy sitting on a steam table and poured over them. I couldn't cut the biscuits with my fork due to the staleness and the gravy tasted old. The hash browns were pulled off a big pan of hash browns sitting in a warmer and they were dried out and hard. The eggs were cooked fresh to order but scorched because the guy cooking them was too busy shooting the shit to be concerned with my order. Everything about this meal was a bust which is disappointing considering the first time I came here I had a good meal. So was the first time a lucky fluke or was this time just a bad day? Who's to know. I think I would have gotten a better, cooked to order meal at the Waffle House and been more pleased on this night. Don't think I'll subject myself to this place again though. read more
