The restaurant we missed the most when moving from Jacksonville to Brevard was metro diner, we are thrilled they're here! Have been a handful of times and have not been disappointed, service is great, food is amazing. I would drive the 15 miles and back every day to eat here if I could! This is an amazing place to eat. The staff and manager are very friendly. I couldn't decide between a French Dip and the Philly Cheesesteak, and the waitress recommended the Philly Cheesesteak with a side of Au Jus. It was delicious and I now get that every time I go. We went there once so far. I ordered the club sandwich. It was excellent. Huge sandwich, could only eat half. I would have given five stars except the music in the diner is a bit much. Loud music makes the guests talk louder. I received a work related phone call and had to run outside, because they couldn't hear me and I couldn't hear them. But overall, nice place. Came in and the service was poor. I'm not sure what happened because previously it has always been fantastic. Our server dropped off our food and then we never saw her again. Not once. We had to flag someone down to get our bill after waiting for quite some time after we were finished eating. It was very strange since the restaurant was dead. We had a great experience at Metro Diner! They were very busy (prime lunch time) but we were sat quickly. We were sat on the outside patio, which was quite warm. Well to say that our experience at the Metro Diner, Vieira, Florida was good would be a huge understatement. The entire brunch experience was PHENOMENAL!! From the moment we walked through the doors everything went perfectly. We were met by a young happy hostess who seated us at our table. She said our server would be right over. In no time Madison appeared tableside and introduced herself to us. She was young, vibrant and energetic. Her energy was definitely felt. She had an upbeat attitude and a sincere Drive to make our dining experience a good one. She quickly took our order and was off to submit it. Madison came back delivering our water and suggested that we try their $2.99 Mimosa. She said if we felt like having more than one that they offered an entire bottle of champagne and a carafe of orange juice for $10. We both decided that was the better deal! Where else can you go and get a full bottle of champagne and a carafe of orange juice for that price? Our food order promptly arrived. Amy did a meat lovers omelette and I did fried chicken and waffles. To my surprise when my chicken and waffles arrived they were not as I expected them to be. The waffle was on the plate and beside them were four chicken strips. The menu stated a half chicken would be served with the waffle. As quickly as I noticed that the order was incorrect the manager, Jason, appeared at our table and admitted they had provided me with the wrong order. He said to please keep the strips courtesy of the metro restaurant and that the correct order would be out in just a moment. Five minutes later my fried chicken came out on a new plate and was absolutely the best I've ever had. I cannot say what a delight it was to eat here. My wife and I talked about our experience for the next half hour and our stomachs were certainly happy, as well! We Will definitely be back! 1st. Nicole our waitress was awesome!!! She provided us with great service without bugging us. Very attentive without interupting our conversation. My first visit to this location as I have been to one other location in Jacksonville, I took my sister and her husband,thier first time, and we were not disappointed. 3 different meals and everyone was very pleased. Once a week we go there for either breakfast or lunch. Staff is phenomenal from hostess to wait servers. Recommend highly!!!!

The portions are very large and the food is very tasty. The service is great, Mike was very attentive and I assume the lady who kept interrupting us was the shift manager who kept coming and asking if everything was alright. While I appreciate the attention, there is such thing as too much. Before we even get our food, she asked if we were good, twice? Add to being asked if everything is good at least 4 times by shift manager (too much) and twice by Mike ( just right and at the right time), the noise of the kitchen, made for not a relaxing and enjoyable dinning experience. We could not carry out our own personal conversation. The white part of the egg was still runny, despite asking specially to make sure that is not so. But I just pushed that part aside as there was plenty more to eat. They really need to do something about reducing the noise from the kitchen in the place and interruptive shift manager, but the rest was very good. read more

I wanted to like this place. I studied the menu online and it had a lot of things I would order...lots of comfort food items. So we went there for dinner. If you like eating dinner in a refrigerator, this is the place for you. Most everyone in there, and the place was only half full, was wearing a jacket. I saw several people go out to their cars to retrieve a jacket. It was darned cold in there. I said something to the waiter, but he said there was nothing they could do about it. My guess is that they were keeping the kitchen cool for the cooks, but the customers were all suffering. It had to be 60 degrees and the A/C was blowing on us the whole time. As for the food. I ordered chicken pot pie. Now how can you go wrong with that? Plenty I found out. The frozen vegetables were uncooked and tough and crunchy. And the sauce was as thick as paste. Probably the first time I can say I did not enjoy chicken pot pie. Finally, we could not seem to get a check. We were frozen to the bone and trying to get out of there, but it took half an hour to get the waiter to bring it to us...after asking several times. I finally left my husband behind and went outside to warm up. It was 66 degrees outside, but that was warmer than in the restaurant. This place has the potential to be great, with that menu. But the execution and the frigid cold make it a place we will not return to, ever. read more

We couldn't wait for the Melbourne location to open (which it did on 12/4/18), so on a trip south a month ago, we went to the Stuart, FL location and we loved it. So we stopped in today (12/5/18 -day 2 - what restraint!) for breakfast, and couldn't have been happier! We were greeted quickly and seated. We asked to get a different seat (booth instead of table) and the host granted our wish with grace. We had 2 servers initially, so that's always better to have too many than not enough! The server explained the specials answered questions and delivered coffee quickly. We decided in the 2 egg breakfast and the Bissell breakfast. One had eggs over easy and the other over medium. The eggs were cooked perfectly, bacon crispy and delicious, and the home fries crispy. All items, including the 2 pancakes with the Bissell came hot, except the unbuttered English muffins which were cold...weird! But all of it was delicious. The server refilled coffee as needed. At the end of the meal, we were visited by the manager and praised the good and let him know of the one less than perfect element and he seemed genuinely concerned. We'll be back soon! read more

It has been a long time since I have been in a restaurant that gave the level of excellent customer service that we received in the Metro Diner. There were 5 people in our party. Our waitress (I believe was Lizzy) greeted us and got our drink orders. After taking our order she checked on us several times until our food came. 3 of us had ordered biscuits and gravy and when it came it had a burnt taste. We told Lizzy and she immediately got the manager, Jennifer. Jennifer apologized profusely and said she would make new immediately. She came back shortly and said she tasted it and it did taste burnt. So she already had the kitchen making a whole new batch of gravy. Even though we had to wait for it we had the rest of our meal (eggs and hash browns). They have the BEST hash browns. When ordering you have the option of adding cheese, onions, green peppers and mushrooms. When we got the new batch of gravy it was excellent. Jennifer was so determined to make it right for us that she said she took care of our check and then on top of that gave us a coupon for the next time we are in. We told her that wasn't necessary but she insisted and said that is how they do business. Everyone in that restaurant was friendly and appeared to enjoy their job. Even though we had a problem it was handled so professionally that we know we will definitely go back. I have been in so many restaurants that wouldn't even say they were sorry.
