This is a new restaurant that advertises their fish and chips in bold postings. I was anxious to try it after catching a movie at Frank's. But it was terrible. The outdoor area is noisy because of the 41 traffic and the fish and chips was more like breaded soggy cod and aged rubbery French fries. I ate very little of it. The manager was very concerned and asked me why I didn't like it. They offered me something else but I lost my appetite. They took the cost of the meal off the bill which was very considerate but I felt I still had to write this review because they shouldn't be advertising fish and chips as a feature on their menu because it stinks. read more

I had an encounter with who I believe was one of their employees at a Dollar tree today he was there with his mother and his father they both went off rude obnoxious language calling me names just unbelievable I've been to the metro diner once but this boy was wearing a metro diner t-shirt which is one of the colors the employees wear and he was so rude and obnoxious and if that's the type of people they hire that's not the type of people I want serve in my food I wouldn't trust him to touch my phone just by the way his parents at I can imagine how their son acts so sorry to say I got no results from the manager when I called just to run around so I do not recommend this diner cuz I'm not sure what kind of employees they hire read more

My husband & I just moved from Colorado, along with our grown children & their family..Our kids told us to be more adventurous & try other restaurants other than the typical chain restaurants..We decided since we just retired to go out on a weekly date night..Been married 49 years & decided why not.. I ordered the Turkey dinner, my husband a Philly cheesesteak sandwich..The food looked delicious & the presentation perfect..I took pictures of our lunch to show our children..We started eating our meal & the food was so salty, we could hardly eat our meal..I ordered extra gravy for the mashed potatoes,stuffing, & turkey..I couldn't tell what spice the chef used, but the flavored was horrible..The green beans had a layer of salt covering the green beans..I really hate writing a bad review..Our waitress was so sweet & had the prettiest smile.. She was very attentive to our needs..She brought us a to go box & we put our food in it, but pretended we forgot it & left it on the table..She comes running out to our car with our leftovers & I just smiled & told her thank you..I just couldn't tell her the food was In eatable..I'm hoping the chef just had an off night..We had 2 neighbors who highly recommended your restaurant..I'm bummed that we can't say the same.. IMO, not great. People were raving about the club sandwich, and being a vegan obviously this wasn't for me. Hubby is a carnivore and had the meatloaf and it was just ok. I ordered a veggie enchilada and was so very disappointed, practically empty, which I don't understand! This is not the only restaurant that treats vegetarian meals like a substandard order. Will not be going back, will continue to to Gold Rush BBQ, because even though that is a "meat lovers paradise" they still cater to those of us with diet restrictions, allowing us to dine out with the rest of the family. read more

I went to a metro diner with some friends and Sarasota several months ago and they had a special called the Pulled Pork Mac Stack. I have been having a serious craving to have one again but never stopped by the Venice location because I assumed it was just a special. Tonight I checked online and to my surprise the Pulled Pork Mac Stack is a permanent part of the Venice locations menu so I ordered one for takeout. When I went to pick up my food the restaurant looked great on the inside and the wait staff was friendly courteous and fast. The food is just as delicious as I remembered it! I will definitely be coming back for another one of those delicious Pulled Pork Mac Stacks in the future. read more

This place is new. There were probably 20 waitstaff on duty and 8 cooks. I know they are still training. The service was good. The food was very good. I had the chicken-pot-pie and it was huge. This was the regular size. The large was only $1 more. It was delicious !! The ambiance was poor. It was very loud. I came here while visiting the area from NJ-- the home if diners. The experience here was incredible. The food was absolutely delicious. The place is so clean and sanitary. The prices are so reasonable. Especially the $2.99 mimosas. They have a few different flavors. So good. Visited twice during my stay. Both times the wait staff was friendly. Attentive. Our new favorite go to diner. Always has an interesting specials board, and the regular menu is very very good. You can get anything you are hungry for on the menu. Manageable choices which we like. Too many restaurants have way to many choices and you spend more time trying to find the best deal in the food configuration you want. You shouldn't have to look in 6 different places if you want some sort of Cod for example. Their menu is simple and very easy to choose. Every time we go we have 3 or more selections that look amazing. We will try a new one each visit ! Prices are great also. Atmosphere very pleasant. read more

Great traditional American cuisine. We ordered 5 delicious meals: BLT, turkey club, meatloaf, potroast at their "soft opening" a couple days ago. Excellent presentation and very tastey. No deserts were available at that time. Service was a bit choopy, but this was a limited 1st opening. Wait staff was very pleasant and attentive. Ate on the porch which faces a very busy highway but the sides were lowered muting much of the traffic noise. Inside noise level was unacceptably loud...not recommend if busy. Definitely will be one of our favorite places. read more

Our server was great and the remaining meals in our party of 7 were okay... typical for Metro. But this Shepherds Pie was a real disappointment... the Menu noted it was new... should not last long if this is really what they offer. Not at all up to their standards. If they were running low on the ingredients, just tell the customer that it is not available... far better than serving a truly poor product as this was. Sorry Metro ~ you created a disaster this time. $10.49 simply wasted! Your cook should be made accountable for this terrible concoction. read more

BEST PLACE IN VENICE!! CHRISTY was our server and she ROCKS!! We were on vacation from Chicago and we went there 4 times!!! Breakfast, lunch, drinks, tea both sweet and unsweetened, just Wonderful!! The manager even came out introduced himself to us and thanked us for coming. He was very personable, EVERYONE there was, but CHRISTY was the Absolute Best. Short-orders are much more difficult to pull off than cooking entrees in a steak or seafood restaurant. Cooking eggs to order and pairing them with accompaniments from hash browns, grits, pancakes, and toast choices and having them come out hot and in a timely fashion in a very busy restaurant is a sign of professionalism, skill and dedication to their job. But my favorite is the chicken pot pie. The best tasting value on the menu. And the consistency at all locations tells me how well they are run.
