Process went ok until it got to the negotiating. The manager came out and was rude and really did seem like he cared much to help me out. He basically told me if another dealer was gonna give me a better price then to go there because he wasn't budging on the price. RIP my 2003 Honda Civic Coupe. All those miles driving up and down the 405 to UCLA took their toll on you. Now comes the stressful, aggravating process of haggling for a new car. From my experience, it's usually an all-day affair of price negotiation with the sales rep, punctuated with back-and-forth phrases like: "Wait, let me check with my manager." "That price is below invoice." "Don't you want to save money?" "What do I need to do to get you into a _____?" "...OK wait, let me check with my manager." Absolutely cringeworthy. I'm convinced I can judge my car buying experience by tallying all the sales pitches I hear in a given day. Luckily when we sat down with Peng, the Fleet Manager, we didn't encounter any of that. He was very straightforward and offered us a decent price relatively quickly. I wish I could say the same about actually obtaining the car, as we got there at 12:30pm and didn't leave until 6pm. There was also a hiccup during the payment process. I would recommend writing a check when purchasing the car, as they can't accept a debit transaction greater than $2500 because of a merchant's tax and some other financial tomfoolery. While they let us drive the car off the lot, we had to return later that day to drop off the remaining check. So in all, Metro didn't change my outlook on the whole car buying experience, but it certainly could have been worse. I am quite in love with my new coupe, however : ) read more

I've been getting spammed email with this customers information dated back since May 2016. Been calling, emailing them to get this problem resolve. I will always say it I hate dealerships and here is why. I own a 2002 Honda CR-V and I bought it from an older lady who was unable to maintain it herself, so I have been trying to fix stuff that is wrong with it, one of those thing being the SRS light, at my work I was able to run diagnostics to find out that the light was on do to a 9-3 error code for a faulty seatbelt buckle switch, I knew Honda had a lifetime warranty on safety equipment like the air bags and seat belts if they randomly malfunction. This car was not in any accidents and was in good shape, when I brought the car in they quoted me $130 to diagnose the issue if it's something other then a warranties item, I said okay and hours later I get a call stating their diagnostic tool couldn't connect with the SRS unit and they advised that the unit (which isn't under warranty) would need to be replaced and I'm stuck with a $130 bill, I asked the service adviser why their tool wouldn't work but I could easily read the code and see the 9-3 code, and he told me "I don't know" so after that I went to complain to the service manager who treated me with no respect acted like I didn't know what I was talking about and was trying to give excuses saying that the unit might not have power going to it or could be intermittent, which is BS cuz if that was the case I would be able to see it through my diagnostics tool. He said he would look into the situation and an hour after leaving again I received a call from the service adviser saying that their machine was broken and they were able to see the code I was saying and it was all covers. When going back to pick up the car I asked for an explanation as to why the tool was broken and if they realized that they would have cost me a lot of money but I was just told "idk we actually had to use 3 scan tools cuz 2 of them were broken" Bottom line if I didn't complain to the manager or know what I was talking about I would have a $130 diagnostics fee and would be paying $1000 for an SRS unit I didn't need and that's not including labor to install, and the issue would still have been there. I don't believe the tools were broken even if they were it shows how well they service their equipment. This place is a scam!!! Update: got a call at 6:00pm when they close at 7pm and the guy told me the car had been ready for a few hours and they forgot to call me cuz they left my paperwork on someone's desk who isn't there, upon barely getting there in time to pick up my car the girl who was getting my car for me couldn't find my keys and had to ask me to go in the back with her and pick them read more

I feel terrible because I forgot the name of my service advisor but he was awesome! I came here 2 months ago for a simple oil change and I was blown away by the experience. Metro Honda recently had a renovation. The inside was large, with great waiting areas. They had a complimentary coffee machine and snacks. My service advisor was super professional and friendly. He let me know about the additional warranty on the headlights and checked to see if it was going bad. I'm not sure if every service comes with a car wash, but he gave me one. I experienced a bit of a crisis today and Frank, technical advisor at Metro Honda saved the day. I called by phone and explained the problem with my vehicle and he said given the time of day he wasn't sure anyone could help. He asked me to head over as quick as I could. Which we did and his fast thinking and expertise (more than ours) realized he could extract the key that slid down into the seat slider casing. I was in the market for a 2014 civic ex in March of this year. Went through several dealerships' internet sales, and narrowed it down to Rock Honda in Fontana & Metro Honda in Montclair. I had a much better feeling about Rock Honda, but because they would not have my car in for several days, I decided to visit Metro Honda. Initially, the contact person I dealt with online and over the phone was very friendly and accommodating. They were able to bring the price down to just over what Rock Honda quoted me at. After several days of back and forth contact, we agreed on a price and I told them I would be coming in to see the car. To make sure that they did indeed have the car on the lot before I drove over, I asked them to send me a picture of the exact car on their lot. They said no problem, would do right away. However, they didnt do it right away. I had to call again after a while to make sure they hadnt forgotten (not a problem, but this was an early indicator of what later transpired). Long story short, when I arrived that day, I was immediately sat down with someone from finance. There was no discussion with anyone else, nor was I able to meet the person whom I had a scheduled appointment with. The finance guy literally just started handing over paperwork for me to sign right off the bat - no talking to me, no asking if I had questions. I had to stop him and say I wasn't signing anything until I had a printout of all the costs. So, he printed out a paper with a much higher price than what was agreed on before I came to the dealership. I refused and he questioned me. I showed him my emails as proof. He argues this and said "thats not possible, we're the ones who give the prices to them" (the contact person i was dealing with). Then he left again and came back with another paper with a price on it and all sorts of other numbers scribbled down. I inquired as to what all the "extra" numbers were (which he conveniently tried to ignore). Turns out, the reason why they had taken so long to send me the picture of the car when they told me they would was because they were busy installing all these dealer add-ons because they knew I was coming to the lot and assumed I was a young ignorant girl and would just buy it. I began pushing back so of course, a manager came out to talk to me. This guy was the worst. He did nothing but belittle me and made no effort to treat me like a valued customer. Basically told me the price is as-is and they couldnt do anything about what was added to the vehicle (protective film, door edge guard, mud flaps, alarm, trunk tray). It totaled $1,700 more than what I was quoted. I told him that BS cars don't come with the alarms already activated (their excuse was yes they do for security since the cars sit out on the lot over night. Ive never heard of any other dealership doing this!). So then poof! Guess what, they could all of a sudden deactivate the alarm for $900 off. It went like this back and forth for every added accessory. He told me that they price the other local dealerships and they all have added accessories also. Meanwhile, my mom was busy calling Rock Honda and spoke to 3 different people who all said that NO they do not add anything unless the customer asks for it. So I again called BS on the manager. He was getting upset and started telling me that he's "practically giving me all these accessories now" and i'm "crazy not to take this deal." Yeah right, he wasn't giving me anything. I never asked for these accessories and who knows how they would try to get their money back through added fees they slip in. I finally started getting up to walk away and told him he has no deal. He just sat at the desk and basically kept repeating "are you serious?" I said yes. Turned around and walked out. He never got up to shake my hand, never said sorry couldn't make a deal or thank you for stopping by. He just sat there and everyone watched as I walked out. BEWARE of this place trying to be sneaky and rob you. And if you come in a little bit savvier than they assumed, they WILL not be happy about it. I'm attaching a picture of the window sticker. This is IMPORTANT to look at before you buy! The right bottom section is the dealer add-ons they will charge you for. This review is for the service department only. I called to schedule an appointment for a recall. On the appointment day, I came in to drop off the car and had someone come pick me up. I got a call 5 hours later saying that they did not have the part so they couldn't do anything to my car. A couple of questions instantly popped into my head: 1. Why didn't they set aside the part when I made the appointment? Okay, maybe someone came in with the same issue between when I made the appointment and the appointment day...fair enough. 2. Why didn't they check to make sure the part was there when I showed up to drop the car off? Not sure on this one, I asked when in the process they check to see if the part is available. They said not until the car goes into the bay do they check for the part. This is a systemic problem!! That's what computers are for. Just see if the part is in stock when the customer checks the car in, or better yet, the day of the appointment so that if it is not in stock, not to waste the customer's time. Or even better yet, when the appointment is made, earmark the part. It's like making a doctor's appointment for a routine check up and then when you are in the room, the doctor realizing he doesn't have his stethoscope! So after all this, they said the part would be in within a day or two and that they would call me when it came in. It has been about a month and no call!!! I realize this was a free repair since it was a recall, but c'mon man! read more

I just posted this on their Facebook page, and thought I'd post this here as well to see if I get some sort of response from the dealer. :/ What started off as a somewhat pleasant experience seems to change as time goes on. I leased my car in July and started off with Carlos in sales. Once I was ready for the contract I was handed over to KD, who was super nice. When I got my new car, Carlos told me my spare keys would have to be picked up since they did not have them, so I said okay. I kept texting Carlos to check on this weeks later, said he would check, still no solution. I called and left about 2 messages for KD, and still no call back. I even asked IN PERSON when I had my first service appointment mid October, Brian (the person that helped me with my service) said he'd check, but still nothing. Fast forward to about a month ago, I kept getting notices from the DMV about the car I turned in to Honda, when I do not have that car anymore. Registration notices, suspension, etc. I called the DMV and they said they never got the change of title from Honda and that I was still legal owner of the car! WTF. When I signed the contract I specifically asked KD if there was anything at all that I needed to take care of when I left and he said no, DMV is handled though them. So I messaged Metro Honda on their website, someone called me and I let them know what happened, and they connected me to their "DMV person" that (big shock here) did not pick up the phone, so I left a very detailed message and for them to please call me back. Here I am 5 months later with no spare keys that were promised, no calls back from anyone I left messages with, and *hoping* I was able to resolve the DMV issue on my own because I was tired of waiting. Not sure if there is any solution to this at all, but hoping, as I have spent a lot of time trying to get in touch with someone there, calls to DMV and my car company, all of it. read more

This was the third place we went to after a 9 hour long day dealing with the assholes at Spreen Honda (Noah Hernandez) and the desperate and lying salesperson (Wilbert Napoleon) at Honda of Corona! We were talking to Jules consistently throughout the day who was forthcoming and very helpful. She didn't try to pull one over us, and she matched the price Spreen quoted us for. Payne Wu was our salesman and he was awesome!!!! He was quick, straight to the point, and knew how to do math unlike the idiot at Spreen! I couldn't get a loan through Honda financial due to a drop off on my record from years prior, however, he managed to get me a 3.9% APR which were 2 and 3 points lower than Spreen and Corona's "best offers." Not only that, but I'm a recent grad and Honda financial offers $500 for people who have graduated within 2 years. Even though I did not get my loan through Honda, Payne still made sure I received that discount! He was professional, friendly, and made the process of purchasing my car seamless. Staff here are friendly and appear to work to make sure the clients are NOT getting screwed over just to benefit themselves! Excellent customer service! A service agent went and checked my car then give me an estimate for B1 and complete brake fluid exchange $ 284.90 it's expensive, just because I really needed my car done before my son graduation then family vacation gathering so I said do it. I waited inside close to service department waiting room for 3 hours but nobody text me or email me or called my name my car is ready until one salesperson asked me what I'm waiting for. I told him I waited my car done from service. He told me service department closed at 6 pm and everyone from service department left. Nobody couldn't help me to get my car key due to they aren't same department, so I waste my time for nothing and I couldn't get my car either. I saw my car in parking lot close to service garage, I was so frustrated because the spare key with my son who went to magic mountain with school before his graduation. So when I first pulled into the service center I arrived a few minutes before my appointment and even then I had to wait in my car for at least 10 to 15 minutes before someone came to help me. I only needed an oil change and I came back to my car two hours later and one of the drivers brings my car out with a missing front hubcap. I asked him where it was and he told me "I don't know" so then I had to wait for my service representative and the other managers to tell me that they couldn't find my hubcap after waiting for an hour. When the only place it could've been lost was there at the service center and instead of securing all of the other hubcaps they just made a note of it on my paper and now I am missing three hubcaps!! Gary Hidalgo and the other service representatives were not reassuring or helpful during this ordeal and I am still waiting to hear back from them because now they're probably going to have to replace all 4 hubcaps. Our experience with Metro Honda was a little mixed, but because they addressed our concerns promptly and professionally, they've earned a 5-Star rating from us. We highly recommend buying your Honda from Metro Honda! We used Truecar.com to ask local dealers for offers on selling us a Honda CRV. After the offers came in, we communicated via email with Metro Honda and another competing dealer. Both dealers communicated professionally, but Metro Honda was closer to us, extremely responsive, and agreed to be flexible on the price so they would meet the competing dealer's price. We called a few times regarding details, and the internet staff responded immediately and professionally. There was some confusion about the extras that were supposed to be on the car. The finance person who does the signing with us couldn't resolve the issue and the internet department had left for the day - so we purchased the car without the extras we believe we were promised. After the purchase was fully complete, we called to speak to a manager and explain our concerns. After only one or two discussions Metro Honda's sales manager said Metro Honda would honor the deal the internet department had communicated. Metro Honda could have made this process much, much more difficult for us, but they didn't. They behaved as every business should if they have made an error. We believe you should support businesses that stand up for the word of their staff, and, based on our experience, that's Metro Honda! read more

After all these years of having VIP service at this dealer, today we experienced how Metro Honda really treats customers because our dear friend "the hookup" retired. Fellow Yelpers you are right this dealer SUCKS! So where do I start? With the salesman who has no idea what cars are on the lot. My husband says "Can you tell me about the Honda Sport Touring?" and he responds "We don't have any". Look AXXHOLE you are standing in front of the car. Or shall I start with the arrogant game player manager Mr. Gil. How about I start out with Gil, who not only got caught in the biggest lie ever but also taught me a valuable lesson in the process about dirty car salesmen tactics. Here's the story. We find the car that we want to buy and inform our salesmen (I won't mention his name but his name is a day of the week). We go in to talk numbers to seal the deal. Now fellow Yelpers I NEVER take more then 2 hours to buy a car once I have picked the car I want. Why you may ask because you don't need more then two hours to actually negotiate a price, get a loan, and sign paperwork. Remember that! So the salesman and Gil, the manager, start their negotiations informing us the sticker price on the car is wrong. Yes, the sticker price is wrong because it doesn't include the $1795.00 extras which are already on the car. When have you EVER seen a dealer forget to put extras on the sticker price. Well Gil thought we were FN Idiots and says the clear coast $895, door guard $295, and alarm system $595 were left off the car sticker price and they needed to make an addendum to the sticker but those prices had to be included in the negotiation price. REALLY! He then explains to us that all of these things are on the car and they have to be" included in the price because it took 3 hours to do the clear coat and the reason the sticker price is wrong is because the car just came in. Really we have been stalking the car for three weeks (just came in my ass). So I say. Hmmmm oh I don't want any of those items and he says it's too late they are already on the car. I say, "I want that car". Can you go get that car from the lot and send it to wash right now and ensure it's in front of the window up front (where we could see it) in 10 minutes. He almost shit his pants. WHY? Because none of that stuff was on the car! DIRTY SALESMAN TACTICS: The plan was to say it was accidentally left off the sticker price, have us negotiate it in the price, and then make us wait the four hours - FN stalling - to put all that unnecessary stuff on the car. REALLY! After going back and forth with him as he is explaining how he needs to make a profit and 25 minutes into the process I demand a number. So he starts at MSRP plus the stupid forgotten items. I say I am not paying that we will start at dealer invoice price. He is now pissed and gets up and says he can't go below MSRP because it's a top of the line Civic (really?) and no dealer will go below MSRP. Finally, I ask for a number out the door, he gets up and goes to the office but returns in less then 20 seconds saying that his boss won't approve of the numbers and they can't go below MSRP. I say ok and NO DEAL! Little did I know that while was sitting arguing with DUM DUM their own internet pricing folks sent a quote for internet price at $2300 below MSRP. Hmmmmm? Fellow Yelpers - Here's my gift to you! Lesson #1: You are not required to test drive a car before you buy it. They tried to make us test drive the car. This is our 4th Honda we don't need a FN test drive. Lesson #2: It doesn't take more then 2 hours EVER to purchase a car off the lot that already has everything you wanted in the car in the first place. Stalling, by the way tires you out and then you agree to Shit You Don't Need. It's like going to go grocery shopping HUNGRY! Lesson #3: Never start negotiations at MSRP EVER! You are getting screwed if you do. Lesson #4: Always start your timer (GET YOUR DOGON CELL PHONE OUT, START THE STOP WATCH, set the phone on the table , AND LET THEM SEE YOU TIMIMG THEIR AXX$. When you buy a car start the timer when you sit down and you will see all the stall and TIRE YOU OUT tactics begin. Let them know that they have two hours to complete everything because you are leaving in two hours with the car if the numbers are right. Lesson #5: Don't start adding more money to the total price of the car with the finance people. NEVER BUY the EXTENDED WARRANTY from the dealer you bought the car from they will CHARGE YOU DOUBLE ALWAYS!! Call the main HONDA or FORD whatever brand main office and purchase your warranty from them directly. It's a better warranty, you pay a 1/3 of the cost, and you can make payments (without increasing your loan cost). Good luck and don't buy a car here! read more

Wow...I never thought I'd live to see the day when I actually LIKED a dealership and didn't feel like anyone was scummy or slick like 99% of the other dealerships out there. Hubby and I dropped in with another couple - we are both looking to buy a Honda Pilot but just not that day. I got a little wary when we noticed a bunch of sales guys just chillin' under a canopy outside the dealership, scouting out customers and probably scheming to pounce on them as soon as we walked in. Sure enough, they all looked over as we got out of our cars. "Oh no...here we go again!" I thought as we walked in. We held our breath and cringed as we waited for a fast talking car salesman to approach us talk our ear off. After about 2 minutes, we unclenched and looked around...wow, where were those guys we saw waiting? As it turns out, they were having a little bbq...burgers, hotdogs, chips, drinks, etc. for the staff as well as customers. We passed someone in a Honda uniform and he greeted us as he walked by. Just when we were on the edge of feeling neglected a friendly guy came over and introduced himself. He got right down to business and let our friends take the Pilot for an extended spin. The best part...after we got back, he talked a little bit more and asked if we wanted some literature and his business card to take with us and review. We were waiting for the hard sell - and never got it!! Friendly and nice, all the way. Above & beyond: We told him we also wanted to look at Acura's at their dealership next door and he even went so far as to call a colleague at the Acura dealership and have him come outside and meet us when he walked us over. I live an hour away in Orange County...but when we finally do buy that Pilot, we're driving all the way to Montclair again.
