Inconsistent messaging about my car being ready. It took him another 1.5 hours to say it wasn't even ready.

I do not recommend coming here if your service consultant is Kareem Sourial. He lacks training and knowledge on how to handle notifications or have any idea of how long it takes for services. Kareem says that only certain services should be done on the weekdays. He clearly doesn't understand that people have kids and a full time job. I had a scheduled appointment and he tried to tell my husband that the parts to repair weren't at the shop (which they were because the service tech called me 2x prior to scheduling the appointment that they were in). Then he told my husband car would be ready at 1:30pm but texted me at 12:37pm that the car was ready for pickup. He later texts at 2pm when I'm 5min away to pickup my car that it would not be ready until 3:30pm now. He tried to blame an automatic system for notifying me when my car wasn't ready when it was in fact him who sent the message. He later proceeded to blame the consultant I was originally signed up with, who isn't even working today. He said that certain repairs like faulty seatbelt sensors shouldn't be scheduled on a Saturday. This guy needs more training if he has a title of "consultant".

My sister did a bunch of research for her 2026 Honda CRV so she came in knowing what she wanted and actually only wanted to test drive today. She was initially guided by a sales associate who I forgot his name but he ended up leaving her to look on her own. Ivan who approached me when I arrived showed me around since I am shopping for a Type R. Ivan then walked me around to find my sister and ended up helping us test drive and eventually closing on my sister's car. In and out in 2 hours since they got us the number we wanted even though we were looking to buy elsewhere later this weekend. I really appreciate how nice, respectful, and helpful Ivan was and how many times he walked back and forth up the stairs to get us keys and paperwork. I hope to return for a Type R soon if the price is right.

    Metro Honda Addons

WARNING - Whatever price you see advertised on their website, add $5,480 to it and that is where they will start the price negotiation. They say these are all optional add-ons but they refuse to deactivate or take them off. It seems they will negotiate down about $2,000 and take off what they can (their words) but I did not want any of it. The sales guys said they add these on to bring up the Blue Book value which is complete BS - I looked up the KBB. These are the addons - FDS Alarm - $1495 XPEL Paint Protection, Interior Door Cups and Edge Guards - $995 Pursuit SVR GPS - $1495 MEP Paint & Frabric Protection - $1495 I guess this explains why they have such a large inventory - no one is buying cars here because they are all overpriced. Do yourself a favor and drive down the street to Penske Honda. Their prices are the same as what is advertised. They do have some addons but they are completely optional. And if you are Costco Member they will give you $600 off any Used Car Sticker Price.

My daughter recently purchased her first car on her own, and I came with her to support her and ask questions during the process. When we first arrived at Metro Honda, we initially interacted with Angel. To be completely honest, the first interaction was not very welcoming. He came across as somewhat dismissive and unwilling to engage when we had questions. For a first-time buyer, that kind of interaction can easily discourage someone, and it honestly felt like the type of experience that could cause a customer to walk out and take their business elsewhere. Fortunately, the experience took a completely different turn once we moved forward in the dealership. We met Lavelle, the assistant manager, who was extremely professional, respectful, and helpful. He took the time to make sure we were taken care of and introduced us to Marcus, who ended up working directly with my daughter. Marcus did a great job keeping us informed throughout the process while we waited and made sure my daughter felt comfortable every step of the way. He also took the time to go on the test drive with her and answer all of her questions. When it came time to finalize everything, we met with Armando in finance. He was very professional, patient, and not pushy at all. He allowed my daughter and I the time to carefully read through the contract and answered our questions without rushing us. Buying a first car can be overwhelming, but Lavelle, Marcus, and Armando helped turn the experience into a positive one for my daughter. Their professionalism and patience are ultimately what kept us there and helped make her first car-buy a great experience. Thank you for helping make such an important milestone a positive one for her.

He has great customer service at the front desk and answered any questions and concerns I had. He offered a rental car or a free ride back home (which is the services they provide). The driver was very kind, friendly and safe driver. My car went in for diagnostics, after inspection, I gave a go to replace the clogged CAT. They gave me a very great inspection report, full with pictures and easy to read descriptions (I also very much like the 3D video explanations to which parts they are referring to). For now, it runs a lot smoother and I'm very happy with how my car runs (I haven't driven it long enough yet). I drive the most in my family, so it feels great to get things I need done now. :) My cons: I would say communication could be a little better. I had dropped my car off 5/29 and didn't get it back until 6/12. It's the longest I've ever had my car stay at a shop, and I will admit I was uncomfortable with how long it stood there. I did feel strung along the entire process, as I was told multiple different dates when my car should be finished. I had to call the shop a good number of times to get an update and I hate having to call to ask the same question over and over (felt like a kid on a road trip constantly asking "are we there yet?"). So, I'm not sure how their process goes about when taking in cars, if maybe they take a little too much than what they can handle time-wise or if maybe scheduling an appointment with them would make a difference? I didn't find out what the issue was until I had come in to pick up my car, to which I am very understanding that things happen, but I wish I was informed during the phone calls I had made. I'm aware of the excessive amount of problems there are with CAT's and they had informed me that the CAT's were being stolen during transport before they even reach the shop or customers (which is such an issue in itself, that ticks me off), so the shop had faced delay due to those circumstances that were not in their control. :) Overall: Pretty good and very kind set of guys that work there. Communication with the customer could be better, so I didn't have to feel left in the dark. Would prefer accurate finish dates and with explanation if there is ever delay (I did refuse a rental car in the beginning because I was told inspection would be done the following day if not till very early next week, but then a few days became 2 weeks) so, definitely want more accurate times to plan my days that I don't have a car. :)

I've had a deeply disappointing experience with Montclair Auto Repair…read more Over the course of one month, my check engine light came on three separate times. The first time, they replaced a spark plug, costing me about $200. Two weeks later, the light returned. This time a $687 repair for a completely different issue. Less than two weeks after that, the light came on again. On my third visit, even though their posted opening time is 9 a.m., the technician, Randy, didn't actually show up until after 9:08. He was rude, didn't greet me, and dismissed my concerns instead of offering any apology or empathy. He handed me a paper with another new code and quoted labor costs of $160, with no parts even required. Despite their supposed warranty, I've had to return repeatedly. Each time, a new code, a new cost, and dismissive treatment. Randy even remarked that my car is old and implied I should expect ongoing issues. Yet this doesn't excuse poor service. If I could give zero stars, I would. I can't recommend this shop to anyone looking for accountability or respect.

My door handles started making a loud squeaking/horn-like sound. When I opened my trunk, it sounded like it was malfunctioning or "dying." The same noise occurred when the trunk closed. When I opened my doors, the noise came from the trunk again. Even when I backed into my driveway and pressed the brakes, my car made a loud honking sound. All of these issues began after his repair. I contacted him immediately to let him know something was clearly wrong. Instead of taking responsibility or offering to inspect the problem, he became defensive and accused me of lying. He claimed the issues were preexisting and said I had tampered with my own car. He talked over me, became argumentative, threatened to cut business ties, said he would block my number, and abruptly hung up on me. He also blamed me for "self-diagnosing," even though I was simply describing the symptoms I was experiencing--something any customer would do. I hired him because he is the mechanic. It is literally his job to assess, diagnose, and fix problems. Instead, he refused accountability and demanded I pay him an additional $250 just to run a diagnostic to determine whether he caused the problems. Every reputable mechanic I've worked with in the past has stood behind their work. This one did not. He then sent me a disclosure form he wanted me to sign stating that I would only receive a partial refund if he decided the issues were his fault. I did not agree to this. When I didn't respond to his repeated messages, he texted again saying that after "some thought," he would now be willing to refund only a "portion" of what I paid. I paid him $350. When I declined to pay the additional $250 diagnostic fee, he argued with me and repeatedly stated that because I said no, I was "accepting that this is the end of the issue," then hung up on me. To document the abnormal noises, I opened and closed the liftgate several times. During this process, a panel that concealed the wiring fell off its hinges. A Tesla-certified mechanic later told me this was because the panel had not been screwed in correctly. I ultimately had to hire a Tesla-certified mechanic to fix what was done. Based on the symptoms I described over the phone, he immediately recognized that the wiring had been done incorrectly. When he inspected the vehicle, he confirmed that multiple connectors were improperly rewired, including the liftgate being wired into the speaker system and the trunk light being wired incorrectly. The horn was sounding as a warning that something was wrong. This was not only careless -- it was a safety concern. This mechanic was rude, dismissive, unprofessional, and completely unwilling to stand behind his work. Based on my experience, I would strongly caution Tesla owners and anyone with a modern vehicle against using his services. *** This is in response to Jane's response. PLEASE READ as this is very important. James claims he offered a "warranty check," AKA "diagnostic," but only if I paid him an additional $250 for his time. I declined. At that point, he repeatedly talked over me, read a disclaimer aloud without allowing me to respond, and ignored my polite requests to speak. He then told me he was "ending this relationship," said he would block my number, and abruptly hung up on me. He did not offer a full refund--only an unspecified portion of what I paid. I uploaded a photo of the revised invoice he sent after damaging my vehicle. In that invoice, he attempted to insert a disclaimer stating that I would accept a partial refund only after he decided whether he caused the damage. The document does not specify any refund amount. Had I signed it, I would have forfeited my right to a full refund. After my Yelp review, I sent James videos from a Tesla-certified mechanic explaining exactly what he did wrong. He incorrectly reattached the wiring, connecting the liftgate to the speaker system, which caused the loud horn noise. On a Tesla, this sound is a safety alert indicating faulty electrical connections. James presents himself as an honest professional. My experience was the opposite. I was spoken over, yelled at, threatened with being blocked, and treated with hostility when I simply asked questions about the damage done to my vehicle. I have never been treated this way by any business before. Based on both his conduct and the documented mechanical errors, James is not qualified to work on electric or modern vehicles. His behavior was unprofessional, aggressive, and manipulative. I strongly recommend that anyone with a newer or electric car take their business elsewhere. Quantum Mobile Mechanic is not on Better Business Bureau. I reported him to the BAR (California Bureau of Automotive Repair).***
