He even stuck around for an extra 20 minutes to carefully examine the lock after he discovered a flaw with the locking mechanism (I had already purchased it on my own - no fault of his). He carefully took it apart, took a close look, and ended up fixing it up so everything worked flawlessly. This was also during peak COVID times, and he wore a mask throughout and was very cautious and polite. It's also always nice to work with a one-man-shop like Blaize. No coordinating with additional staff, no booking windows, no 'a representative will be back with you shortly'. Just a quick phone call, great service, and a reasonable pricetag. Mathias was very personable and efficient. My fob had been dying for a while and I needed the new fob I had bought programmed to the car. He was honest that he wasn't 100% sure the fob I bought would work but he was hopeful. He sat and scanned my car to let me know it wasn't the battery and was successful at programming the new fob within a half an hour. The only issue was that they were ~20 minutes late to the appointment. But they let me know they were on their way at the scheduled appointment time. Leo worked for about an hour to re-key three locks, two of which I didn't have a key for. I though re-keying Kwikset locks without a key meant you had to drill them out and replace the hardware. Thankfully Leo corrected my erroneous impression and was able to disassemble and re-use the existing hardware. He also fixed up the front door's lock, which I did have a key for, but is old hardware that was getting tricky to use. I am so glad I get to keep the old hardware - not sure if it's original to the house, but it's still cool. He keyed all three locks to the same new key and made a couple copies for me on the spot. The new keys are branded with their logo and phone number. Apparently the shape of a key's teeth correspond to numbers, and the numbers Leo chosen for my new key are auspicious ones. Kind of a fun fact! Total bill was $415. Locksmiths are expensive regardless but I didn't feel that this was outrageous for efficient and friendly help that solved the issue.

I needed the locks on my front and back door changed because of some untrustworthy roommates I had recently kicked out. Even though it was late in the day, he inquired about needing the service that day, which was a pleasant surprise. Because I was going to be home all weekend I assured him it would be fine to do Saturday or Sunday. He scheduled an appointment between 9-11 the next morning and said Dan would be calling me before he came. At 8:30am I got the call, he asked how many locks needed to be changed (3) and that he would arrive at 9am. He arrived right on time, and was done within 30-40 minutes. When he left I even noticed he had glued/secured the piece that surrounded my deadbolt lock that had been loose for awhile without hesitating. I would recommended their fast, friendly, and effective service to anyone!
