Had them install my hill country modded Cobb 20G, process west TMIC, Cobb 4-Bar map, Koyo radiator, new plugs and convert to speed density , then dyno-tune my 2018 STI. I couldn't be happier with the result. We spent hours on the phone landing on what they ended up doing and it was never a sales pitch, more like talking to another enthusiast about the car. With the 1050 injections and 340 pump, I made 406whp on E85 and it's a whole different car. Took a while to get in as they're slammed, but once I brought it in, it was on the lift before I left the shop. Parts were all installed within a couple days and tuned a couple after that. I will never take my car anywhere else. Stoked to yeet these pistons into the stratosphere and bring it back for a full build from Pops for 500+. Kind of confused, and disappointed in how they claim to be Subaru performance specialists after talking to them. I inquired with them about completing a custom engine build on my 2015 WRX, and was told that they don't do any work on, or build FA20DIT's! How the hell can you say you're a Subaru performance shop on not work on, or build FA's? I also understand that they have a dyno at their shop for tuning as well. Hmmmmm.....would you let a shop dyno tune your FA20DIT engine if they were so uncomfortable with the engine that they don't do any work on them, or build them?!? That being said....if you're looking for true pros with a FA20 build call Outfront Performance in Buena Park where my engine is being built. I cant thank the team enough for getting my wrx running smoothly again. I was having problems after installing a downpipe. Thankfully danny and sean were able to find the problem for me within a matter of minutes. Scheduled me less than a week out to fix the downpipe as well as having sean tune for me. I dropped my car off to them around 830 am and by 1 i was able to come pick up. They are both extremely knowledgeable and went above to answer all my questions. I was a bit skeptical but things came up and i had to drive up to the bay area 2 days later and i had 0 issues the whole trip and got better mpg. My subaru was running lean and misfiring in all 4 cylinders after installing a new intake and running on my old tune. My local shop recommended them saying they're one of the best when it comes to subarus. Tried looking somewhere closer because I live in San Diego and it was a 59 mile drive. Had a pretty bad experience just making an appointment at Delicious tuning which was the closest dyno shop to me. Called in only for them to tell me I have to make an appointment through email. It took 2 days of receiving 1 email a day for them to tell me I'd have to wait almost 2 months before I could bring my car in. At metro I called in and made the appointment. After 5 minutes I was scheduled for next week. Day of the appointment turns out my car was leaking. Shawn (or Sean) was really cool, fixed the leaks for me, even sold me the right gasket for my new blow off valve and got it on the dyno within 30 minutes. Highly recommend. Made an appointment for 8am, a retune and wide-band install. I was told to show up early so they can get started with the car right away. Sat around for three hours before they began to even look at my car. They installed my wideband, never even mounted it just left the gauge flopped onto the steering wheel. They then retuned my car on the dyno for 3 hours. When I left I go to do a pull on the freeway and the car starts breaking up. My check engine light would start flashing and go away. Then to make matters even worse the car spun a bearing upon start up. read more

For years my vehicle and wallet has suffered from shops "claiming" that there knowledge is second to none when it comes to the Subaru platform , but in actuality they are uneducated Thieves and looking to make quick buck and give you more problems then what you previously had. I first came here looking for a tune and I was very skeptical at first due to trauma I received with other GARBAGE shops. I made appointment to get my car dialed in and it was the best investment I ever made in my life! While the car was on the dyno my vehicle starting to show the works of other shops! My vehicle had sooo many issues and I was worried about my vehicle and that them telling me that my vehicle wasn't going to be tune today due to complications of the vehicle. This is where the vast knowledge of Danny , Danny senior and Sean came in they FIXED Everything that was preventing my car from being tuned! After my car was tuned I was kind of upset with the dyno numbers because my car only did 280whp on 91! But when I drove the car after the tune the car felt like 330whp! And I was extremely shocked on how well the car performed with those numbers! I was so pleased on how well the tune went that I came back for the e 85 tune! And made even better numbers!!! I was very pleased at the PRICE as well!!!! I was scared that I was going to be billed a arm and a leg! But that wasn't the case at all. These guys were very fair. This was my first service with Metro and I will never take my car here for a service again. I took my car to a reputable carmod shop in Orange because I felt my car was not performing well after my new rear and front sway bars and new rear multilinks were installed by Metro and the minute they test drove my car they knew right away something was not right and sure enough there was a missing bolt and the rear sway bar was a shitty job it was crooked. Metro used the old endlinks because their crew insisted that the one that came with the sway bar kit were not the right ones well guess what??? THEY WERE THE RIGHT PARTS!!!...the shop in Orange pretty much gave a summary of the job Metro did and it was "PRETTY SHITTY CRAPPY ASS JOB". Metro didn't even do a test drive of my car after the install. What kind of a "performance" shop would do that?!?!? Shame on DANNY(owner) didn't even check his crew if they're doing a proper job!!! First their receptionist verified with Danny that I will only pay $200 for the service but when I got there of course Danny changed it to $275 because of "miscommunication"....oh and PLEASE STOP SMOKING INSIDE YOUR OFFICE/LOBBY NOT EVERYONE WHO GOES THERE SMOKES!!! Piece of advice it's not always about the money first, try QUALITY first my friend....This review is not to discourage anyone who wants to go to Metro. I just HOPE that you will NOT get the same service and experience that I got. This is just my honest opinion based on the experience I had with this shop. I hope Danny reads this and do a reassessment of his priorities. I know it's business and he needs to make money but I also work hard so I can pay for a decent job which I didn't get. After speaking with the owner Danny over a roughly 47 minute phone call, where a huge number of my concerns as well as goals were clearly reviewed, I was pretty much sold on the idea that I had discovered the right place for aftermarket work on my STi. After arriving to the facility to drop my vehicle off for the first time and meeting Danny and his team, my confidence was confirmed. I had been communicating back and forth with several of SoCal's reputable Subaru tuners prior to ever having heard about Metro Performance. There were a couple good candidates on the tuning roster, but I couldn't find that solid feeling of confidence with either of them, primarily due to a lack of what I consider to be a reasonable stream of communication. Modifying these vehicles to do what they do is not a cheap hobby, so communication is key, and Danny understands this well. Metro Performance seems to have it all under wraps. They have an indomitable combined team history specializing in the Subaru brand and are well known for their mega horsepower machines. They do everything in-house so next to nothing needs to be outsourced. Motors, transmissions, custom fabrication, etc. That kind of capability speaks volumes about a shop's potential. Needless to say, my initial modification goals were, without a doubt, a simple walk in the park for them. Through phone and email, Danny did a fantastic job of keeping my non-stop questions answered as well as keeping me informed of updates during my car's stay at their facility. Granted i've only been in here once, but i couldn't have left more impressed. I had been to 3 different mechanics for a power steering issue, and all of them couldn't figure out the problem. I took it here, the mechanic instantly knew what the issue was and had me on my way in 15 minutes. He even explained it all to me as he was doing it, explaining why non-subaru specialists have difficulty diagnosing this problem (it's just a weird quirk of this particular subaru). I've been to quite a few performance shops in SoCal and a lot of them act to busy to talk or give the impression that they just don't have enough time to say even the simplest things like "Hi how are you". I honestly felt like I was part of the Metro family while I was there during a very long 2 day tuning process. The shop specializes in Subarus however I assure you their tuner Sean is a mad scientist and could tune the space shuttle if you asked him to. He flex fuel tuned my '74 Datsun with a rb25det engine (out of a Nissan skyline) and the thing RIPS down the street. We ran into several issues during the tuning process that he quickly diagnosed and fixed so he could continue tuning and did it with a smile.
