Made a custom order on 8-15-17. Website says custom orders ship in 7 - 10 days. It shipped in 13 days. Sent 3 emails. No response. The screen is beautiful except for burrs left on 4 drilled holes. So, zero stars for non-existent customer service. 1 star for on time shipping. 4 stars for the product itself. Metro Screenworks get a 2 star review and a customer that will never return. About 4 months ago, I purchased 6 screens asking for them to be built as they are shown in the pictures. After waiting about 2 months (8 week lead time), I received them all built incorrectly. When I called the company, they told me to fill out an online form. I did and it took a number of days to get a response. Then it was an argument about how the order was placed both over email and telephone. Apparently I selected 4 of them to be built incorrectly... my fault. The other two I has selected the right checkbox in the form, however the screens were built incorrectly. After a number of back and forth emails, Metro agreed to rebuild the two screens they didn't build correctly and offered me a 20% discount on the other four. I passed on the discounted screens (can and have fixed them myself) but asked that the two built wrong to be re-done as was offered... that was September 8, 2020. To this day (11/4), I have not received the screens. When I inquired about the status of them, I got an email response as follows: Good afternoon , Apologies for the lapse in communication. I'm confused as to which window screens that you would like us to remake. There are (6) window screens total on order (invoice) 100060020. I have squirrels that chew my screens up, so I've been ordering alarm screens for my home from this company for years. Albert comes out to the Westside to measure (it's quite a trip from Chatsworth) and the charge a reasonable rate considering how far they have to go. I would not chance measuring the screens myself, but the nice thing is that they keep some of the measurements on file, so I could re-order with no hassle at all. I totally recommend this company. Just installed my new storm door tempered glass windows and screens. They were delivered to Michigan from Colorado in perfect condition and fit like a glove. Metro Screenworks sells what appears to be a decent product (Pet Screen) at a competitive price. However, their business practices are abhorrent, and their customer service is nonexistent. During my online order process, I provided them with a single address; my shipping address in San Marcos, TX. I used Paypal to complete the transaction, and their computer system took my info from the Paypal website and shipped to my address in Port Arthur, TX. I caught the error while the package was in transit, and called Metro Screenworks immediately. They insisted that I had entered the Port Arthur address as my shipping address until I repeatedly explained exactly what had obviously happened. The salesman on the phone admitted that it was probably the case, and he "didn't know much about that stuff." He did call FedEx and called me back to let me know that re-routing and additional shipping to the address that I provided in the first place would be an extra $25. Then he asked how I'd like to pay for that. I had no time to argue. I was in the middle of a move and needed a screened porch for my cats. I gave him my credit card info. Later, I followed up with the IT department at Metro Screenworks via a long series of emails. Their IT department doesn't know SH about IT, either. Again, I was told I must have manually entered the Port Arthur address. Nope, it's in all CAPS, just like it is on Paypal. The address I entered on your site is not. Your site pulled the info and shipped to an address other than where I requested the package be sent. IT guy said he would open a case with Paypal and have them contact me, as he was sure he was right. Suffice it to say that he never contacted Paypal, at all. I, however, did. Not only did they verify my version of what happened based on the way Metro Screenworks has their account set up, Paypal stepped up and credited my account with $25 because they actually value me as a customer. Maybe there's a lesson to be learned there, Metro Screenworks! If you think this type of customer service is isolated from this joke of a company, read the reviews that Yelp does not recommend. It seems to be typical. They have a really bad attitude. If that matters to you, there are other places to buy screens. I know I'll be buying mine elsewhere. read more

I was really pleased with the screens I ordered and will absolutely order from them again. They also provide a rush manufacture option that was very reasonably priced. I bought two screens on a BOGO free special. I watched the video over and over because my window was oriented to be wide across rather than tall and I had to get my bearings. Then I measured each window about 5 times apiece! They were perfect. What I didn't know is that they have some different color options on the tabs (but that isn't a choice in the online software). I didn't care for the color of the "clear" plastic, so am going to paint them with craft paint. So be sure and ask about the tab choices if you want something dark. I purchased the highest visibility screen material. read more

None of my screens fit. I had triple measures to ensure accuracy before ordering. Their direction on how to drill new plunger bolt holes was no good and ruined 2 screens in the process. Only offer was a cheap discount. Will never order from them again and recommend for anyone to not as well. read more

These guys know how to cover their butts when they make an custom screen that they are not capable of building. I ordered a screen for an 8' x 3' door which they call custom *which states no warranty on custom". I paid 1 contractor to install the screen and he stopped after an hour saying there was something wrong with the mechanism inside. I called metro for help with my issue and was told to watch a video which showed everything the 1st contractor tried with the screen. I called the 2nd installer, who also worked with Phantom, a competitor much bigger than metro who after 30 minutes told me the workings inside the door are defective . metro would not even listen to my concerns and said no to any refunds. I ordered the phantom screen and it is 10x the quality of the thin flimsy cheap metro door, and the cost included installation. Beware before you buy from this place. Added, I could not understand the decent google review but after reading them, the majority of them are just window screens that I would hope no one could screw those up, even these guys. I ordered screens for our entire house, via their website. Only 5 windows but big and some odd sizes. We received our screens super fast and very nicely packaged! I was a little worried since I didn't have any existing screens to measure and just had to measure the window frames. But they all fit great! Partially thanks to the spring clips. They should really emphasize how good of a value the "Ultraview" screen is and looks good. I almost ordered another screen type without knowing. They look great on our new house! As the previous reviews said you get what you pay for and in this case I got defective products and terrible customer service. Some of the screens were lopsided and when I asked to return them I received a run around by "customer service" then was told my pictures of the incorrect measurements were inaccurate. Was then told industry standard is 1/8 inch off while my bank was told 1/16 of an inch and my claim was denied because they claimed they were so willing to work with me. If your sizes aren't accurate, state that on your website so buyers are warned rather than boasting about 40 years of service...... yet only one side of the screen fits in the window. I was very frustrated in my dealings with them although I have to say they have a quality product and are very responsive. The problem begins with trying to order from them. There is nothing that identifies the key parameters of the product architecture and how it goes together. They are very helpful (or should I say responsive?) on the phone but could not provide me with a sketch that illustrated what I was buying or how to specify it. And I was astounded when the kit arrived to find it didn't include the most basic diagrams or assembly instructions. It turns out that (for the most part) a lot of the information is addressed in a (tediously long) series of videos which are not easily discovered on their website. If I knew now, what I have learned painfully installing the product over the past day or so I would have modified my order to specify a smaller opening so that the screen was tighter. That said, I would order from them again now that I understand their product features. read more

Unfortunately FedEx had damaged the side of the crate, which tore a couple of screens. CUstomer service ordered replacements made and sent out right away. Would definitely order again. Ordered a 7' x 100' roll of fiberglass screen. Ordering was quick and easy, product arrived on-time and in good shape. It would be a good idea to use some other type of shipping material like a cardboard box or tube versus the poly wrapper, which didn't stand-up well to transit which caused a loss of about 5 feet of screen. read more

The glass and aluminum insert on my storm/security door fell and the glass shattered. Metro Screenworks helped me measure the insert to confirm that it was a standard size. I paid online. They made a custom replacement for me and threw in a free screen insert as well for a very reasonable price. About half of what I'd been quoted elsewhere. They emailed me when it was ready. I walked in, showed my id and walked out. The whole process could not have been easier and I could not be happier. read more

Ordered their best slider screen door as a kit to replace a custom size slider at my home. Expensive (over $150), but excellent quality, hugely better than what you find at the local hardware store or the big box stores. After just 3 years though, door rollers corroded, and I could barely move slider, with wheels making a loud screeching noise. Requested pair of replacement rollers from Metro. Their representative told me that they no longer use these rollers on their new doors, and have no more in stock for my door. So after 3 years do I trash my $150 door, because Metro was too cheap to stock a supply of replacement $8 rollers? Fortunately I eventually located a supplier of repair parts for doors and windows, and was able to order appropriate design roller assemblies which I installed. Door is working as new now, no thanks to Metro Screenworks. However their sales rep, AJ was friendly, and tried to assist, including passing my request to Metro management, so 3 stars instead of one. read more

I had a problem with my order of 6 screens which cost $564. The screen measurement I gave them wasn't accurate. The screens needed to be smaller. I'm not in the business of ordering or measuring screens. I told them about the issue as soon as I realized the larger screens were useless. Incredibly Andrew in their customer service department suggested that I go to a local hardware store. I should've done that initially. I think that is good advice for everyone. Also, my advice for metro screenworks is to send out a paper template on larger orders. Very disappointed. read more

The pet screen is the best. We ordered a roll of it and installed it ourselves. The cat continually climbs the screen and it leaves not one mark (she is not declawed). Our old screens got ripped up continually (NOT Metro Screenworks). Can you go in the furniture line and create me a sofa that won't shred when my cat claws it?! I ordered a custom sliding screen door measuring the way Metro Screenworks instructed me. The height measurement was 95". After receiving the unassembled screen, I put it together. I then attempted to install it in the door channels. It did not fit. I made sure the frames were snug and tried again, no luck. I decided to measure the screen they sent. It was 95 1/8th. I emailed them 3 times. After a week of no help, I called. I was told that the manufacturing process had a +- 1/8th error and that I could buy new frames for $95 or I could cut them myself. After spending $300 I do not expect to have to personally correct Metro Screenworks margin of error. The rest of my business is going to someone else. read more

I then went to their store on Amazon and there they wanted thirty dollars shipping for the same product. Then they sent me an email with a code for 10% off my order if I would come back and make my purchase. This time the shipping went from 20 to 25 when I used the coupon! I purchased their French-door style retractable screen last year. I installed the screen and it has never worked properly. I paid two professionals to inspect the installation and was told "nothing wrong with the install, it's just a piece of s*#! screen". My guess is the screen framing is just too light weight for the opening. I have since taken it out and now have some holes in the sliding door frame to deal with. Service time is way below par. I ordered their Hercules screen for my sliding door and followed their instructions to the T. It said if I had an existing sliding door, to just measure the door. However when I received my screen, the groove where the screen door is actually deeper than the door so the screen was too short. They didn't offer to replace or fix. I had to order (an pay for) longer side pieces and then take the screen apart and put it together again. In all, this screen cost me $500. Aside of all this, it took weeks to get the parts ordered. I sent an email to customer service, took a week to get back, I replied immediately, but still didn't receive a reply for almost two more weeks. We just recently ordered a screen from these folks. The order process was great. The issues came when we received the screen. The screen had some minor damage from shipping, the workmanship was poor (corners didn't line up), their online instructions were inaccurate, and the included door handle doesn't work with the door and its pre-drilled holes. I emailed immediately with pictures explaining my issues and asked if they would consider a discount (I was able to get the screen to work as it was - but the assembly and quality were a big disappointment). They got back to me pretty quickly and said they'd send out a new door handle and that they'd review the other issues and get back to me. This was just after Thanksgiving and I've heard nothing back. I did get the door parts in the mail, but they sent me the exact same piece that I already had and it STILL doesn't work with the door I ordered. I have had to drill out new holes and buy new screws just to get it fit and it's still not great. Overall, I'm really disappointed with the screen and their customer service. Based on their reviews and their website, I had expected a lot more from this company. The screen door materials seem to be high quality and its servings its purpose for our sliding door area. It's just a huge bummer, though, that quality of Metro's work with the materials was so poor and they weren't willing to address this with me. read more

This is my first negative Yelp but I had to do it.Hopefully others avoid this online vendor. Their website states "Same Day Shipping","Top Rated National® Online Store". I fell for it. This is all marketing bull. We ordered 2 simple window screens to replace out broken screens and, after a quick Google search, figured I would order online with Metro. No research, just went for it. Big mistake .. . . Almost three weeks later and the two simple window screens haven't even shipped. When I emailed them asking what happened to my screens last week, they just stated they would send a tracking number once the screens actually ship. Tried to cancel but they wouldn't allow that either. It's a pretty hot summer and we can't open those key windows without flies or other things getting in so we suffer. Someone else mentioned SPAM. My SPAM went thru the roof within 2 days of this order. We used a brand new email address for this order alone. I am trying to find an Opt out area from them, no luck Beware. All shiny web pages with homemade logos are not what they appear! P.S. Hopefully we don't get dings or flaws in the products like others are reporting here (from carrier or otherwise).
