This is a highly over priced company with a pretty garbagy product. We bought french screen doors with a retractable screen. 9 months later, we noticed one of the screens was torn at the bottom, called the company and was told the we needed to replace that side-just the screen. This was another large expense and we had to take apart the entire screen to replace the part. The new part never worked correctly. I contacted the company again and was told to send numerous photos and videos and than told it was our fault as the frame appeared to have debris in it-it's a screen door so it is outdoors. I resent the video, showing the frame was clear of debris. I was told they would sent a replacement piece at no cost. The piece came and once again, we had to take it apart to replace the piece and it still does not work. This is a total piece of crap that we have spent an awful lot of money on. Reaching out to the company does nothing except result in them trying to charge us more money for a product, that judging by their record, will not fix the issue. read more

Product damaged, poor quality construction, no response from customer service. I am still waiting to hear back from Metro Screen Works about a screen damaged in shipping. I ordered a custom sliding screen door to replace the old and busted one from the condo I just bought. I had a hiccup but eventually got exactly what I wanted. First, I ordered per the measuring instructions on their youtube videos. I chose a higher-end door. I received it and there was a "bump-out" -- a decorative extra part that would have been fine except our previous door was flat so that a larger part of it could slide up into an overhanging frame. I emailed with customer service, explained the situation and provided photos, and Metro Screen Works was incredibly helpful in resolving my problem. They sent me a new "flat profile" door. This door fits perfectly and really makes me happy to have a custom screen door for my brand new (to me) condo. Shipping takes a few weeks -- which is understandable given that it's freight shipping for an assembled door. The freight shippers were different on the first and second doors. The second one came in a full tractor-trailer, so had some problems negotiating our building. Great service, great product. Thanks! read more

Not very happy with the Genius retractable screen door. When you try to open, it keeps falling out of the track. lots of calls, not much response. I ordered a particular screen a customer requested. I didn't have any problems ordering online or getting delivery of the product. Despite my momentary hesitation to give my business email address I did. I almost never give out my work address but this product was for my job so I did. Big mistake!!! I've had my work email address for 4 1/2 years and not a single spam email. The very next day after ordering from Metro the spam started coming in. Avoid this online vendor, I ordered 5 screens from this company, all of them were damaged one had a top and all of them had a bow in the middle. I installed them and they fit perfectly but there was a bow in the middle. Whigh defeats purpose of having screen. I have been going back and forth with some individual at the company Sam and he keeps giving me excuses, that they can send new ones, sent picture after pictures, until he stated he xant give me refund "higher ups" won t allow it. I have pretty much given up on them, they took me for $235.00 for what was suppose to be one of the best screens. I advice you not to purchase from them. read more

The door replacement screen I installed was the next to the top level offering . The door was installed in the high desert where sun and wind and time degraded an old door that used thin folded steel for the frame. This door came with a very robust aluminum extrusion and after assembly it fit great. Assembly was a breeze. We also ordered the super tough screen which appears to be fiberglass with a vinyl coating. I like that it isn't real visually transparent because I suspect the visual cue would stop a person from attempting to walking through it accidentally (installed in a senior community). As an aside the corner brackets that are simply driven in to form the frame were preinstalled in the shorter top and bottom extrusion, not the side extrusion. This meant that I was able to confirm the height and had a second chance of cutting the long vertical pieces down shorter if I needed to, all prior to assembly. We have a sag in the door frame which made the measurement crucial. The all metal rollers make a little noise as it chatters across a worn track, but it should wear better than the typical nylon wheels. The price seemed fair for a door that will never need replacing. It did seem to take awhile to get though. It could be that Amazon is spoiling all of us consumers with their speedy delivery. Another item checked off the list! read more

I wouldn't believe the 5-star reviews. I'm being generous with the 2-stars. The company has no manufacturing standards. You will likely get the wrong size and they'll blame you for measuring incorrectly. Product is inconsistent, and customer service is shit. I'd only use them as a last resort. I ordered three window screens. Two had scratched frames, and the third was out of square: the top of the short side was 1/4 off square. They wouldn't address the out-of-square screen, and simply stopped responding after I explained the problem and provided pictures. I understand their problem: it is not fixable, because the screen wasn't strung evenly, creating tension which causes the frame to be crooked. It cannot be redone once the screen is cut, so they would have to make a new one and take a loss on the transaction. They did refund me $25 for the scratches so I could buy paint and fix them. In the end, the poor workmanship and reluctance to own up to a mistake makes dealing with them a hit or miss affair. read more

I had such high hopes for my retractable screen door. I had one before from another company. Unfotunately, this did not turn out to be custom as they advertised. The edges still had to be cut to get to the right size and the cross bars were too short. I asked their rep if I needed the piece for the floor transition and he said, "no". I did need it and so, we had to rework the entire transition. After much difficulty, it was finally installed. The screen did not retract properly after all that work. When I reached out to the company, all I received was an email with attached instructions and was told to read the instructions and if that didn't work, to contact the company that made the screens. They did not stand by their product, did not provide customer service and did not even sell me the proper pieces. Stay away from this company! read more

I made what I call a Rookie DIY mistake, I improperly measured the sliding screen door out to our patio for replacement. The new screen door arrived and it was too big to fit between the upper and lower sliding tracks. The mistake was all mine, the door arrived with the exact measurements I gave them. I spoke to a CS rep named Andrew and explained the problem. For what I call a nominal charge, they cut me 2 new height pieces, included a new fiberglass mesh screen, spline, and spline roller tooI and included shipping. Took out the existing spline, removed the screen, took the panels apart and installed the newly cut pieces, laid out the new screen and began to insert the spline, came out perfect. Installed the new door, adjusted the wheels, it does squeak a little but I can live with that because it takes 1 finger to slide the door whether I am inside or outside on my deck. Maybe I will try some WD40 to lube the track. Appreciate them working with me to fix my problem. read more

I thought that ordering window screens online was going to be relatively easy. I found Metro Screenworks on a Google search and looked over their sight. They offered ("suggested as they later said on the phone) videos of how to and where to measure for the screens. I followed the instructions and ordered the screens. They came in 1/4" taller than they needed to be, though they were the measurement I requested based on the video on their site. So $225 later, I have 12 screens that serve me no purpose. I asked if I could send them back and trimmed or replaced, was told that that would be cumbersome and they may get damaged in freight and it didn't make sense. Apparently what did make sense was me ordering 12 more screens at a nice reduction of 10%. I understand that they are "custom" made, but this company...if any company out there, should consider themselves experts in the screen industry and for a 35 1/2 measurement not to throw up a red flag and at least constitute a phone call it ridiculous. I called the company prior to them making the screens and asked if this number was uncommon and was told that nothing was "common." I should have known then not to go forward with this. Once I was told that I was SOL, I asked the sales guy to have a manager call me, to further explore their lack of customer service...he didn't call, I did at which point he said I sent you an email...2 days later and I have yet to see the email, but that's beside the point. I wouldn't do business with them again, their customer service is poor. read more

Avoid this company like an Ebola Infected Monkey!!! I looked around for a company to replace the sliding screen patio door on my home. Most were honest and said 30 day shipping. Metro said 7 to 10. This was lie number one. On the 11 day, I called and was lied to by Ben in sales that he'd talk to the manager the next day and try and get my shipping upgraded. When I called the next day, even the receptionist knew the sales manager was off that day. Lie two!!! When I finally talked to the sales manager, he promise it would ship a certain day. When it didn't and I filed a PayPal Dispute. Within minutes a tracking number appeared. They made a label - big deal (it was less than 5 minutes before they closed for the day). The next day the sales manager said the item had shipped, and please release the PayPal Dispute. When I said FedEx had no record of it shipping he found out that the "shipping department found it laying around". Lies three and four. Something shipped later that day. I got it today, the 24th of August and ordered on the 28th of July. Guess that 30 days everyone else was saying was the truth, These people can't even spell customer service. If you bust your promised shipping date, upgrade the shipping. These people think instead of a shipping upgrade, they're OK refunding your shipping? Huh? Give up $28.00 to save maybe $20.00? Screens arrived multiple weeks late, with multiple scratches. Our order was about two weeks later than they first said, and we would get a different ETA each time we talked to someone. First we had a week long delay because of a single-day holiday somehow. Then we had another week long delay because their screens are made in a warehouse out of state. We wanted to pick the screens up at their Denver store to save big on shipping, but they don't make them in Denver, and they only get a shipment from their warehouse once a week. Then once the screens did finally arrive, in their own packaging, they had multiple scrapes on the paint, and several of the corners don't really line up exactly. Not precision cut or fit at all. Basically don't believe their ETAs and be sure to get some touch-up paint! read more

The woman would not let me speak, informed me that everyone was ordering at this time (didn't know this was a bad time of the year to order screens), and to stand in line. I wasn't asking anything other than the status of the order and inquired why when they had a next day shipping on our previous order (2 weeks prior) that this one was taking 1-2 weeks to ship. I asked for her supervisor and she informed me she was one. I asked to speak to anyone above her and reluctantly, she let me. I had a reasonably quick response, however after I further replied THREE times with the details of what I was looking for, I have still not received an answer from anyone for more than 2 weeks. Well, my replacement rail arrived and was also damaged. The mitered joint had smashed into the ground during transit and is unusable. The packaging is to blame in both instances- the rail was bouncing around in an oversized box with little to no protection on the rail. read more

They sell a faulty product. Screen pet door with plastic hinges. I'll repeat, plastic hinges. I bought the product for $18. The hinges broke within a few days and I informed Amazon who then directed me to Metro Screenworks Inc. Instead of replacing the broken screen, they refunded $9 (I paid $18!) They also stated they would not refund in the future if my dog breaks the screen again. The screen is made so pets can go in and out as they please! I was using the product as intended and as advertised! Horrible cutomer service. Cannot recommend in good faith. Stay away! read more

We recently bought three unassembled screen doors to put in a client's home. They came scratched and dented and the weatherstripping was falling off and damaged. We had no choice but to put them in anyway, apologize profusely to the client and tell them we would replace them (on our time and dime). I spoke with someone at the company and he told me to send him pictures of the damage, which I did, and I asked him at the very least can I have some touch up paint. He emailed back telling me they don't sell touch up paint but I could buy it at Home Depot! End of story. The owner of our company then spoke with his manager, who was extremely rude and unprofessional and told us if we didn't like their products and customer service we should find another company to deal with. I was lured in with their "ships next business day" line and the fact that I needed high quality screens fast. Our boss was coming by and we needed to clean things up a bit. I removed the old screens on our front office, measured them, double checked my measurement and sent in my order requesting the acorn hardware. 9 business days later I receive my order, and what do I find? All five screens were wrong. Narrow Side - wrong length. Long side - wrong length. Wrong mesh style (I paid $10 extra PER SCREEN for the invisible mesh.) And no hardware to secure the screens in place. They were late, every measurement was wrong and its missing hardware. THEY DIDN'T DO ONE THING RIGHT!! I call their customer service and explain to them I need screens quick bc of this event and "David" tells me "everyone has a story, if its not that its someone trying to sell a house quick...etc" How many times does he hear complaints about this stuff? You have to TRY to mess up 100% of an order. BUYER BEWARE. read more
