We had used Metro Wide Movers for an office move a few months ago and they were great. So when it came time to sell our house and buy another one, we gave them a shot. We were under a time crunch and closed on our house Thursday but needed to be out by Friday morning at 10am. They showed up with 2 truck and 4 men. When they arrived all the guys came up to the door and introduced themselves, shook our hands, and then started working. My husband and I were very impressed since you don't see this type of behavior much anymore. The leader of the crew made sure we understood everything that was going on and told us to let him know if there were any concerns. We explained that we just needed to be out by 10 and he assured there would be no issues with that. He put us at ease and moved right along. Also, we were impressed how they wrapped our furniture, even after telling them its mostly garage sale stuff. They assured us we are gonna be treated like it is brand new furniture. The guys got all of our stuff our in plenty of time, and actually helped my husband sweep out the garage floor. When we arrived to our new house, my garage door was malfuntioning. Something with the breaker in the garage. One of the guys knew how to fix it! He showed me what to do if it happens again. Another issue we had later was the hot water heater kept going out. Again, a mover knew what to do and fixed it. When it was time for the bill, they made sure we were 100% satisfied before leaving. The move took less time than anticipated. It saved us $150. We used that savings and gave it to the guys for a tip. One guy couldn't stop thanking me. He said he just had a baby and needed to buy his wife a new changing table. Moving? If you are looking for a trustworthy, good priced, efficient and professional moving company, I've found them. I have moved 3 times in the last 10 years and never had such a good experience. From the office staff to the movers, everyone was respectful and understanding. My situation was a bit different, but the movers were more than patient and kept me calm. First off, I was surprised when they offered a fixed price for my move upfront. I gave a list of my furniture to Carrie over the phone. She explained my price was based on this list. (making sure I understood exactly how it worked). It was great for me because the day of the move was very cold, windy, and started to snow. The guys had to move a little slower than usual but it didn't cost me any more money. Next, I was referred by a friend who uses yelp. (I just got started and love it) my friend showed me how to get a discount that was offered thru yelp. I paid $25 and got a $50 credit toward my move. Outstanding. The day before the move the office called to confirm everything. Gave me an arrival window of 8-10am, and showed up right at 8am. My moving crew, Jared, James, and Mike immediately got to work. One guy put pads all over the railings, and doors, while another put shrink wrap on all my furniture. The crew leader went over all the paperwork to make sure I understood the process before starting. Overall, it only took the crew 5 hours to move my 4 bedroom house. I fed them a small lunch, provided drinks, and tipped them nicely. If I dare ever to move again, I will call Metro Wide Movers and request the same crew. Bravo gents. read more

The crew was amazing. I hired them to move a two-person office, plus files, lateral file cabinets, two conference rooms, mailroom, and break room equipment. They worked so fast, yet carefully took care of moving our office items. Some of the items were extremely heavy (10 ft marble conference table) and challenging - not for them. Everything was put in its place and the heavy office furniture was reassembled perfectly without a scratch - way faster than their estimated time. Thanks to their work we were able to get the office moved and up and running over a weekend. This is the second time I have used Metro Wide Movers. They moved my house in 2019 which was a difficult move - a house full of 18 years of stuff. This move took way longer than they estimated (which was my fault - I had no idea how much stuff we had!) - but the guys worked tirelessly - up and downstairs until the job was done without complaint. Wow. I had an incredible experience with Metro Wide. First of all they came out on Sunday after another mover stood me up the day before. In Kansas City, mid January it was freezing. The price, even on Sunday (during the Chiefs game) was still cheaper than the other quotes I got. James, Rick, and Jared came early in the morning. First set up all the pads in my house to protect the furniture and doors. Then they got straight to work. Since I was moving from a 4 bedroom house and moving it into storage less than 2 miles away, we decided to take a few trips. This way we didn't have to stack furniture on top of furniture. This made sense to me. Furniture moving is not fun and a pain in the butt. These guys had a great attitude, worked hard, and made sure to protect all my belongings. I've moved several times throughout the years and not all have been good experiences. I want to commend Metro Wide movers for the outstanding services they performed last weekend from moving me from a second story (with an additional storage area two flights down in very hot weather) to my current location. My crew was prompt, worked quickly and were very professional. They were extremely polite and very friendly. I had a recent knee replacement and several times one of the movers would stop doing their work to assist me. I had under estimated the amount furniture, boxes and storage tubs and once the movers realized it was not all going to fit, they called for a second truck that arrived within 20 minutes. Metro Wide Movers with some overwhelming reviews. I had no other option now thankfully they came over, assessed, and agreed to help. I was already so pleased by their kindness. But then when we got the deal locked on fair charges, I kept on praying that they show up on a moving day. They came over. Ah! Found these guys here on Yelp.com and called with their coupon. Hud was great! Very helpful with getting me a quote and making sure that I was updated and followed up every step of the way. We had a buyer that wanted in our house in 2 weeks and didn't have anywhere to go, needless to say, the movers were the last ones I called. Thankfully the guys at Metro Wide Movers were great. I chose Metrowide because they had fixed price quotes. I was told I would have 2 or 3 guys for the move and they would arrive at 8:30am, with the expectation the move would take most of the day. 3 guys arrived early! The called at 7:30am saying they were on their way. They were all polite, friendly and professional. They did a walk through to confirm the contents and then were so efficient in loading and unloading. They communicated great with each other and caused absolutely no damage to any of my belonging or to walls or doors. They finished the move by 11:30am. Absolutely fantastic job these men did for me! From start to finish, these men were polite and professional with my mother and I. I have moved a bunch of times. Most recently a relo for my job. I moved to Overland Park and got a referral from my new boss. These guys came out and loaded my stuff up in no time. The 3 guys (tyler, Matt, and Jason) were fun to be around. They put me at ease. When we got to my new house we had to wait for the carpets to dry a bit. My initial encounter with this firm was so impressive that I can't say enough good things about them. I hired them to relocate my automatic washing machine, two dressers, and a wooden cabinet. Hiring them was a smart move because they meticulously wrapped all of the belongings in cushioned wrap, bubble wrap, and cozy blankets. Although the road was very bumpy, the movers loaded and tied every item with the truck to prevent it from being damaged. I had come across negative reviews on-line so I was a little hesitant about using Metrowide. They were almost half the cost of another company I received a quote from. Since I only needed them to move my largest, most heavy items (freezer, fire file, piano, etc.), I thought they couldn't be all that bad. Well, turned out I was pleasantly surprised. Can't tell you how much I appreciate these guys. We moved yesterday (Jan 4, 2010). We are talking 4 degrees, snow and ice packed streets and driveways.
