MetroPawn one of the first pawnshops I have been to here in Reno. With my first experiences I walked in an noticed they have it all organized and in certain areas, im shocked on there prices. They have jewelry, Guitars, TV, cameras, Video Games, and most of all that caught my eye was the Movies. Movies they have like 3 racks each with 4 sides and jam packed with movies. Some oldies, some new, some hard to find. They also have Blu-Ray's each are all very in great shape. (DVD's for $1.00) (Blu-Ray for $5.00) The Staff, well they are very welcoming and very friendly. Amazing customer service! I called ahead about a PS5 and how much it would cost plus an extra controller... I can't remember the lady's name but she gave me everything I needed to know.. went in to grab the PS5 and it came out to a great price while online for new the Spider-Man edition comes out to the price range of $600-$1,100 only paid $407 for both console and controller plus a 6 month warranty! I'm so happy with my purchase and the staff is amazing so kind and helpful.. 10/10 recommend this store!!! read more

I've been wanting to sell my 10 year old wedding ring and some locals friends told me to stop by Metro Pawn. They were nice but definitely did not offer me what it's worth. Obviously I knew that about pawn shops prior to walking in but I just wanted to check before taking up an offer at a jewelry store in Roseville. You know I just don't get it. I try and find some middle ground some reasonable compromise with a business and here I am yet again complaining about some unexplainable nonsense. You are a PAWN shop, bargaining should come with the territory and when someone is at your location it's not our first preference. Of course I'd rather be getting a new laptop at the well ventilated retailers so when I'm buying a computer in here just know... I'm probably in a hell of a mood to begin with. For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the attitude was so obtuse. No discount for cash offered AND YOU CHARGE ME TAXES??? Ok You want to be THAT guy? Cool, I don't care how much business is driven away from you because anyone reading this knows they can save a few bucks anywhere else, what really confuses me is why you'd make a big deal over a few dollars when you know I'd never come back in to waste my time for that. So basically this review stays up. Congratulations on the few extra bucks you pocketed. I just know the Reno municipalities would collapse with out you collecting my tribute. Uncle Sam must be EXTRA proud of those "less then 3 dollars" you just involved him with. I've been customer since 2016 and just went in today for loan. They took care of me as usual and got me more money than I asked for. I usually do pawn loans but bought IPad there for $100. It had some kind of issue and I took it back to Metro. Mark, who's no longer there, returned it no problems and handed me a $300 IPad instead. I work with Joe and Carmen now, and both are awesome and I trust them. I highly recommend Metro - this store specifically - for pawns and sweet deals. I would also recommend Metro in general (I think they have 4 Reno stores), because of their associates like Mark and Carmen and Joe. They'll do as much as they are possibly able for you and will stand by what they tell you! read more

My wife came here to pawn one of our guns because I caught covid in November and we needed a little extra cash to cover the bills. It has now been almost 2 months since she paid the loan back and filled out a form 4473 and they refuse to release the gun until they get a background check back with a go. Prudent and understandable however the federal wait time for the ATF to get back with the check is 3 days. If the ATF does not get back to you in 3 days you can release the gun. This shop refuses to release the gun. They have effectively held the gun hostage and have blamed everything from previous management to the background check process as to why they want to restrict Americans 2nd amendment rights as my wife has been told that she isnt the only person waiting for their background check to come back. I will never bring any business into the establishment and have instructed my wife to never bring anything here again. Good looking out new management. read more

I did 10 years of business with previous owners and had a PERFECT RECORD!! Never missed one payment or was late and pawned over $40k in goods! New ownership (EZ-Pawn) erased all records of previous clients and hired all new, awful employees! Rude, unprofessional and ridiculous! They don't remember return customers and especially those w perfect records and haggled me and low balled me on every item! Will no longer do business with them ever again!!!! read more

Don't trust these guys - they low ball and lie. This was my first experience ever in a pawn shop - it was so bad that just a couple days later I went back to get my ring because I could not sleep - I distrusted these guys so much with my ring. I was recommended to go here so I thought I could trust them better than other shops in town. Initially I took my ring to a reputable jeweler who gave me an offer of the melt value only. The intrinsic value is how the jeweler makes his money when he resells it - and it was a pretty piece. The jeweler offered me $260 for one piece saying it was 9.4 grams at 18k gold. The other piece the jeweler offered me $180 confirming it was 18K. The 3rd pc he recommended I go to a coin dealer or auction it because it had a rare coin which had Numismatic Value. I decided I did not want to sell my pcs and thought I would just borrow against them because I only need money for a short time to cover a bill. The next day I went to Metropawn they told me they would give me the melt value for my pieces. They told me the first piece was 8.3 grams (not correct) and even though gold had gone up from when the Jeweler quoted me Metropawn only loaned me $180 on it. For the other piece they then argued with me that even though 18k was printed on it, did not look like it to him and wanted to give me 14k value so I said forget it. The 3rd piece included a coin which has numistic value and without a guarantee I would get full value if it was lost or stolen by them, I would not take the risk of putting it in their care. Now the rub. They said they would give me the gold spot value -They give you no intrinsic value on your jewelry - but then they lied about the weight. Gold spot was 1266.50 30.539 per gram The first piece was 11 grams- They said it was 9.1 grams they offered me $277 - should be  $335.93. The second piece was 9.4 grams- they said it was 8.3 grams - they offered me $180 I found out later it should have been $287.09 . 6 grams - they said it was 4.9 grams - they said it was valued at $130 - I sold it for $183.24 the next day and went and got my ring from Metropawn. You may say why do I care if I am going to pick it up anyway? Here is the problem - not only did you not get the value - according to the paperwork I got, if they lose or damage your item you are only entitled to be compensated for the principal loan amount they erroneously determined. Yikes. I could not sleep with the item in their care so a couple days later I went and got the jewelry and FYI I still had to pay the full Finance Charge for the month at he Annual percentage rate which is 169.43% plus a $5 transaction fee. Well I had my first pawn shop experience ever - too bad I did not have time to shop around - hope this helps if you have the unfortunate situation to have to shop around to pawn your jewelry. read more

They had something close but not exactly what I needed. 2 staff got on the phone right away to call their sister stores, and found what I needed at the Oddie store. The folks at the Oddie store were just as helpful. I got a fair deal - certainly not a steal - but felt the stellar service and convenience were well worth it. read more

Listing on gunbroker stated explicitly that the seller (metropawn) did not collect sales tax. This is odd in that practically every other seller on Gunbroker lists no tax except for residents of (business state of residence). Metropawn representative claimed he didn't see that option, and also neglected to put the "nevada state excemption" under the additional terms of sale or other information. Metropawn did not demand sales tax until after the FFL form was completed, and social security number, and other personal information was collected. Don't trust these people even with terms spelled out in black and white they will refuse to adhere to the deal as stated and agreed to. read more

Great customer service! In my opinion they also tend to have the best selection of movies, guitars, and other musical equipment, i cant really vouch for anything else because movies and music are my main two points of interest, but from the looks of it they have a pretty good selection of everything. The employees are genuinely friendly (which is rare for the metro pawns in this town) always open to questions and free to help. And they can usually help you out with item price, especially on instruments (within reason). Just felt like i should drop a line for these guys after all of the good service. P.S. if there are any guitarists looking for ESP/LTD guitars, this is the place to look. Those turds are getting kind of hard to find in store since the gibson suit, and i see more good condition ESPs here than anywhere else. read more

In my opinion, the young girls that work in there aren't too knowledgeable about jewelry. My mother and I brought in a ring and they said it wasn't real gold. We left and later returned to have one of the other associates(who has worked there for awhile) helped us. We were happy and got what we wanted for it. This has happened several times. I am not sure if they are trying to take advantage of people but we had a ring that was appraised at 3000 the girl offered 400 and said the diamond was very clear good but diamond prices are down that's why they offered such a low price. I don't like to be lowballed either. A little disappointed as I was a loyal customer. The change of employees has really ruined my experience here. I now go somewhere else. I wonder if management has changed or something but they did change and not for the better. Excellent location but uneducated employees. read more

If you are voting for Hillary Clinton this presidential election then you won't mind being blatantly lied too by this pawn shop. I brought in a white gold ring with two small emerald cut diamonds for an offer. The young man helping me appeared to be very nervous from the "get go". He asked me what I was expecting for an offer, told him $600 which was high and I knew it. He replied that he couldn't offer me that and told me that he would be insulting me if he gave me an offer. This piqued my interest so I asked him to examine the ring and give me an offer. Again, throughout this whole process he appeared very nervous and unsure of himself. He went into a small room off to the side to test the stones. He did something else with a small measuring device and looked at the stones with a jewelers loop. After all of this rigamarole, he told me the stones were cubic zirconia and that the only value the ring had to them was the white gold which he quoted me a price of $40. I told him that I had had the ring appraised by my jeweler who told me the stones were real diamonds. Nervously he said to me that I was welcome to take the ring someplace else for a quote. I did not tell the pawn shop clerk this but my jeweler told me if I was to sell this particular ring I could get about $400 for it. So, I would recommend you never bring jewelry to any Metro Pawn shops for selling purposes because they are a bunch of crooks! read more
