Been there 3 times and they have always left food out, check your stuff before you leave!

Went there last night since our normal spot was closed and had heard it was good. I was disappointed as the shredded chicken tasted like canned chicken and had a hit of some pink stuff. The guacamole on our plates were brown and salsa bar was of need of cleaning. On top of that they charged a credit card fee with NO notice (not sign or letting us know verbally)! I tipped on top of it and for 3 people with fountain drinks and entree was $68!!! Way too much for the experience and food quality. Not recommending this place unfortunately as I had high hopes to support an authentic Mexican family run business. read more

I'm a tough critic when it comes to Mexican food having grown up in CA and living in Southwest for 18 years. I get to travel for work a lot, so I'm always hopeful the Treasure Valley will have more restaurants like this springing up soon. The food at Metztli was pretty good (7 out of 10). Downside would be small inside, very high prices for walk up to order counter and loud music. Maybe this will be a stepping stone to them opening a larger restaurant one day. read more

Great Mexican food, as close to the Mexican in Ventura, Ca as we could find. Wet burritos are awesome. Enchiladas are great. We're becoming regulars. Definitely recommend. read more

We enjoyed both our queso burrito and enchiladas. The portions were huge and the service at the front counter was excellent and fast.

I've been here a couple of times. Tortas are good but not Mitch else. Burritos suck and "service" is hit and miss. My last visit is a good example As I walked in the cashier was delivering chips to a table. I ordered and paid cash. They had no change so that ended up being her tip. Got my self serve soda and salsa from the salsa bar (nice touch) and sat down. Now 2 cashiers were at the register talking and I got no chips until I went back up and asked. They acted surprised. Tables remained dirty dirty while they chatted. Got my Torta and enjoyed it. As I walked out I never did receive my change. Same experience about 1/2 the time. I won't be back. Was hoping this new neighborhood restaurant would be worth a second visit, but probably not. Items were more expensive than same dishes at a sit down restaurant, but place had the vibe of 'fast food.' No accessible seating at all. Waitress was kind but overworked running the register, bringing meals out to customers and clearing tables. For what we paid/waited for, we'd hoped for more. read more

Really wanted to love this new Mexican location as it is so convenient but I highly doubt I'll be going back. First off, the menu is on three tv screens moving like a ticker tape. As a first timer, it is hard to figure out what you want..... including the typos that you would think would be fixed after being open for over a month. The place is pretty clean with music playing pretty loudly (the speaker does not sound that good so it was a bit annoying). Our food came and it was average at best. The salsas definitely lack flavor and are far from authentic mexican. The chips are not freshly made. There was just really nothing exciting about the food that would make me want to go back. Too many other local places that have a lot more flavor than this at much more reasonable prices. read more

Loved it. I've been looking for good Mex. food since I moved here. Trying different places, all have been bad to deplorable. Authentic?? There are very few places in any state that serve authentic Mexican food not located in a majority Mexican town. I don't think Idahoans know what it is. What you are looking for is GOOD American Mexican food and because it's so rare here you THINK that's authentic. I just had the best Mexican food since I left AZ. The reason they only have 3 stars is because they're so new. Cut them some slack people. They'll figure it out. But they've got the skills, no question. read more

Great little Mexican spot! I ordered the steak fajitas, which were really flavorful. They were very well seasoned, steak was tender and perfectly cooked along with the peppers/onions. I wasn't a fan of their queso, which was just melted stretchy monterey jack cheese. Other than that, we are happy to return. read more

We were excited to try this place. Never again. So very disappointed. My husbands taquitos looked like they were old & stuck back in the fryer, coming out that dark brown when the food/oil is old. The plate didn't even come with quac and sour cream, that was -$2.75 extra. The rice was dryer than dry. This place is ridiculously over priced , we'll never go back. One small plate, one drink & one ala cart taco, 24.00. I feel completely ripped off & taken advantage of. read more

We were so excited about this place opening! We need good tacos around here. Unfortunately that isn't this place. They were out of half the menu (day four of business) and then when we ordered tacos to go, they boxed them up and tied the bags (normal) and didn't communicate that they come completely bare (literally tortillas with meat) and didn't include any toppings in the bags. We got home to eat and pulled them out. When I returned to ask they didn't seem to care. We won't be back. read more

Hopped on here to review the menu before we go again tonight and was very surprised to find such poor reviews. So here I am with my 2 cents: We are picky about our Mexican food and much prefer to make it at home from abuelitas recipes. When we tried Metzli for the first time a few weeks ago, our expectations were low given our past experiences with "Mexican" food in the area. Much to our glee, we found a spot blocks from home with offerings that surpassed our standards. I cannot speak for consistency as this will be our first time back, but the service was friendly and the food both authentic and delicious on our first visit. It is reminiscent of the "hole in the wall" 24 hour taco stands that have the best food. As small business owners ourselves, we more than appreciate that any new operation will experience growing pains. We do wish Metzli the best and look forward to many more tacos! read more

Had lunch at this recently opened fast casual Mexican restaurant and I have to say they serve up some very good authentic Mexican food. I had the chicken enchiladas plate and they were great! Nice salsa bar and very good salsa. The restaurant is very clean and well operated. If they continue to execute consistently like they did today, they will build a great business. read more

If you're looking for Taco Bell tasting food this is not the place for you. If you want authentic full flavored delicious Mexican food, then look no farther. My only complaint is the eatery needs to be larger! read more

First of all, let me just say that I wouldn't call it authentic Mexican food. However, I was pleasantly surprised how flavorful everything was. He had the chicken flautas (which were our favorite), carne asada tacos and chips and queso. The flautas had amazing flavor and were perfectly crispy and tender at the same time. The carne asada was ok, found some gristle in it. The chips and queso were pretty good, a little more heat than I prefer. read more

Good food. Here are a few suggestions to survive in the burbs-- you need seating for more than 4. People have more than 2 kids. You also need a kids menu. We don't want to buy our gaggle of children $12.99 enchiladas. If those things are fixed I think this place would get a ton of business. read more
