I got a flat tire and stupid me doesn't have a spare. I called up Mexicali tire and asked if they had a used tire in the size I needed and the guy said yes. I asked if they were open until 7pm and he said yes. I then asked if i bring my car there right now is it possoble to get the tire replaced. He again said yes. ( I made sure to ask him this because it was 6:38 and when I looked on yelp it said they closed at 7) I informed him that I was right around the corner and I should be there in 5 min. We showed up at 6:43 and the shop was closed. We knock on the door and the guy inside said sorry we are closed. I explained I just called and talked to someone and they kept saying sorry closed we can't help you. They were rude and unprofessional. I would not have drove half a block with a flat tire and possibly damaging my rim if the guy on the phone would have told me that they would not be able to help me out. We called AAA and had to wait three hours to get towed. Tomorrow we will have to find another tire place because I will not be going back to mexicali tire. read more

Today was my first time coming here. Don't know them, never heard of them before. Only read the reviews here.. but in a nutshell: I came in expecting to wait a long time and pay a lot more, for maybe a good enough tire. I even offered to pay for a service I had no idea I actually needed or not. The super friendly gentleman that assisted me told me I likely don't need that- let's see how it turns out, took me in without an appointment and finished the job way faster than I thought, for half the price he had quoted on the phone, and with an excellent tire that looks almost brand new with full treads. Absolutely I would come back to this place. I -think- they are family owned and operated, and they seem like truly quality people, fair, honest, competent. Awesome to discover this place. read more

Over priced used tires. Communication on all services needs to be improved. Don't tell a customer one price then charge another and then make the customer feel it's their fault for not understanding. Just got a flat tire repaired here. After researching a number of local tire repair shops on Yelp I settled on this one because of the great reviews despite the limited number. I'm glad I did. I was actually shocked at their speed. As soon as i pulled in one guy spotted my donut spare tire on the car and immediately began to remove it. Granted one could say this was arguably odd as i had yet to receive a diagnosis or a price on my flat. So clearly this could have been a waste of THEIR time if the donut had to be put right back on. Normally i would have made a fuss about this but the vibe was good and I chose to just go with the flow. Again without my getting into any details with anyone, another guys almost immediately took my flat from the trunk and went to work on it. Within minutes it was off the rim and the hole fould and patch begun! Still no one mentioned even a price to me. Unfortunately my flat had a hole at a borderline bad location near the edge of the tire. The head honcho who clearly reviews all patches patiently explained that the patch may or may not be successful given its location long term. But there was zero upsell in his approach! I chose to try the patch instead of getting a new $160 tire and he completely understood. They even carefully and cleanly returned my spare do nut and tools to their stored location in my trunk! It also seemed to me in the way they where telling me I was good to go that they were actually saying, "no charge!" But I would not leave and felt i was practically insisting on paying after which one guy, seemingly making a fee up on the spot, said $13! Crazy low price! The place looks like a hole in the wall but don't let that dissuade you! Everyone was super nice! read more

The best. Two shops said they couldn't fix the screw hole. It wasn't even on the sidewall. Called these guys to get a used tire to match up with my current tires that still had about 10k in like in them. When I got there the guy said he could fix it no problem. These guys are legit. $17 too. I was about to spend $900 on all new tires. read more

I have been using Yelp for 3-4 years now, but I've never written a review... until now. My experience with Mexicali Tire Corp. in Costa Mesa was so outstanding I just had to say something! So, I needed to replace a flat tire on my Honda Civic ASAP. I made calls to 4 or 5 different tire shops in my area to get price quotes. The quotes I got were between $45 and $65 for a used tire + installation, but then I called Mexicali and they told me they'd do it for just $25!!! I checked out they're profile on Yelp and saw all the great reviews people had posted, and then headed over there. I parked right in front of the garage and was immediately greeted by an employee who asked me what I needed. First tire shop I went to did not have my tire size, the other opened late and I couldn't wait because I hadn't had sleep yet since I was working nights. Finally, so I decided to call mexicali tire corp, they responded to my call, gave me a price and I went there as soon as I could. I had a little trouble finding them but it's all good. I needed to replace 2 tires, both worn down to the cords... and then some... They didn't have the tires I needed in stock, so they gave new a "loaner" set of tires until they receive the order with my correct tires in tomorrow! I called the previous night to get a quote on a specific tire size I was quoted a specific amount and I told the gentleman that I would be in the next day. The following day I arrived I told the guy that approached me smoking that I spoke to a gentleman on the phone the previous night and that he said that he would be able to assist me with a specific size. After the two guys placed the used tire on my car and later told me that It would be $50 plus tax. So I told him of course not and gave him the price that I was quoted over the phone. So he shook his head and went to the back and brought out one of the baldest tires that I think that I had ever seen. Literally worse than the one that I came in there on. I guess what pisses me off the most is that when I asked him the price he took his time to look me up and down in the assessed me before giving me the $50 plus tax price. SCAM!!!
