About 4 months ago I brought some wheels that I had dismounted from my car because i planned on painting them. In order to paint them I needed to take off the tires so I drove over and asked him how much he would charge me to remove the tires from the wheels. The man wanted to charge me $15 to remove each tire...asked if if he was kidding and that I really wanted to know how much and he said he wasn't kidding and asked me if I wanted to get it done or not. I'm sorry but $60 to removed 4 tires which is 10 minutes of work tops is ridiculous. Not to mention that he had 0 customers at the time and was sitting down doing absolutely nothing when I got there . I ended up leaving pissed off and didn't end up painting my wheels. . Fast forward to today when I decided I would try a different tire shop. (If you must know Tonys tires) which they charged me $5 per tire and did it in less then 5 minutes As a former restaurant owner I know the impact a negative review can have on a business and try to avoid doing so because I understand the frustration and stress that comes with a business but sometimes some businesses go to far. Only reason I give them 2 stars instead of 1 is because if you are ever stuck in a very hard place financially and need some used tires to get you by a little longer this place will usually have something available.. now quality is another story read more

They've always been courteous to me, allowed me to thoroughly examine the used tire I've bought before it's installed and put it on quickly. WOW, if I could give them ZERO stars I would!!! OMG. ok, so my tires were pretty bad and wanted to swap them out for some used tires that could hold up for a couple of months until I saved enough to purchase brand new tires. Boy did I make a mistake by coming here!! First they charged me $140 for 4 used tires, thats $70 per tire!! OVER PRICED! but still alot cheaper than brand new ones!! ok. So whatever, I pay them cash cause heaven forbid they leave a trace and give you a receipt!! The next day, I take my 8 yr old to the beach, we were there for 2 hrs and when I get back to my car, WOW all 4 were flat!! So I call AAA had them tow my car from Ventura Harbor to Simi Valley!!! I call my dad asking him what to do since they gave me no reciept so of course he comes to save me!! He inflated my tires enough to drive to American Tires on First st, he buys me 4 brand new tires on his American tires credit card, WITH WARRANTY !!! The technician at Americas Tires checks the date on the tires when they were made, THE TIRES I WAS SOLD AT MEXICALI WERE 12 YEARS OLD!!! He said it is illegal to sell tires older than 6yrs and that the tires Mexicali sold me were cracking and could have popped and potentially cause me a really bad accident!!! My dad asked to keep the old tires, throws them in the back of his truck, we drive to Mexicali, and my dad hands him the 4 tires and demands a refund!!! The man had the nerve to tell my dad, "she wanted used tires so we gave her used tires!" Ok. that is a fact. but of course I thought a legitimate business would provide me atleast tires that werent expired!!! The man offers me 1 brand new tire instead of the 4 used ones!! SLAP ME IN THE FACE WHY DONT YOU!!! No. my dad said, you give me the $140 back cash, or i take my AAA receipt, the paperwork from American Tires stating tires were 12yr old and thank god I took pictures of the men at mexicali changing my tires and of my car at the location as proof too!! Well, we threatened to get police involved and a civil lawsuit, he couldnt run fast enough to bring me my money !!!!! DO NOT PUT YOUR LIVES IN DANGER BY COMING HERE!!!! i know we all cant always afford new tires, i couldnt!!! but now that I know American Tires lets you open a credit with them, I can definetly afford a monthly payment for brand new tires with warranty and free services and a piece of mind my daughter and I are safe!!!!! read more

I being a business man myself am completely appalled be the level of unprofessionalism I have seen here. I brought my friend whom was strapped for cash in to buy 1 tire and have it mounted. We agreed on a price of $80. In the middle of removing our tire they had two more people show up, now that he was busy he came out and said it is hard to do so I need $100 to finish it, mind you we already discussed my friend only had $80 to spend. He took the tire off the rack and gave us the old tire and rim because he didn't have time with the now new customers. Bait and switch is completely wrong and this establishment is horrendous I as well as everyone I know will not step foot into this place again. Just spend the extra 1/4 mile drive down the street to Tony's tires were they treat you right and only charged us $60 to top it off. Shame on you Mexicali tires! read more

I have been to this location many many times and every time I get what I pay for, used freaking tires, Yes, used, I read some of the other reviews and yea they charged me I think $180 for 4 used tires, and all the tires i've gotten from here have lasted more than 5000 miles, 1 time I did get tires here and the next morning my girlfriend noticed a bubble on the side and it was close to flat, I went back and showed the guy and without any question he replaced it asap, SO I would go back for sure, remember they are USED tires. read more

I came here and found four used tired for only $250 straight up no tax and they will last me for close to a year or year n half depending on how much I drive of course. Horrible place to go!!! They will rip you off!! They sold me a tire less than two months ago and it had no tread. I came back and they show me a hidden sign that says no guarantee and then up charge me for another tire. The guy Carlos was rude and tactless and this people are a rip off!! Horrible horrible horrible!!! They sold me an used tire with an illegal patch job/plug on the side. Verrrryyy dangerous! And within 2 days my car was telling me my tire was low. I went to another tire place which had informed me of what was going on with my tire. I was super nice to them and the lady laughed in my face as I explained how illegal it is to sell a tire with that patch job on the side wall and how I drive around with a two year old. They refused to give me my money back. I told them I wasn't there to cause problems just wanted my money back and they can keep their tire after 45 minutes of being mocked the lady told me if I could take the tire off myself right there and then they'd give me $20 back which is not even close to what I had paid for the tire. Once they noticed I called my husband for back up they decided to comply and give me some of my money back, not all. Do not!! Do NOT go here. Wish I could have had a better experience since I'm in such a budget, but not worth the risk of putting urself and so many others in danger with their illegal tires. read more

Rude!!! I was quoted a price of $50 per tire over the phone. I went in and again confirmed the price before having my tires changed. After the tires were put on I go back to the counter to pay and the woman yells to the man in Spanish "how much should I charge the lady" and in Spanish he says $90 EACH! (They didn't know I understood Spanish) and then she tells me $90 each (total of $360)! I said... "Absolutely NOT I called you over the phone and you quoted me $50 per tire and when I came in I again confirmed with YOU that it is $50 per tire! So how did it miraculously change from $50 to $90 per tire?!" Then she had the nerve to say "the prices change every hour, that was a special price and then tried to negotiate it went from $90, $80, $70, $60 and when I kept saying $50 she says fine I am charging you $7.00 to run your debit card. The guy tried to hide the bad rip on the tire by turn it over fast, too late saw that, way over price on used tire, go to tony's better deal, their dishonest and a rip off. I now go to Pepboy new tire are $40, used tires are $25, why not buy it new, they also have their own credit card. I don't know how Mexicali Tire stay in business. THIS IS AN AWFUL PLACE DO NOT GO! I had two tires that I needed to put on my truck. I called the location and he said it was $40 and I was extremely happy with that price. Sadly the happiness was completely destroyed when one of my tires had a hole he could not fix. Before my mom said something about the tire hissing he was rolling it to put it on my truck. My mom had to get up and explain to him that it was hissing and he just said it was the air compressor. After 2 min of trying to convince him, he finally agreed. Unfortunately, we trusted this man to examine the tires before putting them on my vehicle.. it was evident that the tire had a hole .. but that did not stop this man from trying to put it on my vehicle.. with no regard to my safety.. only for his profit..The next tire he put on he was very quick to roll it away from us and put it on my truck, he just wanted us to leave and get his money. Fast forward to the next morning I am planning on leaving for errands and the tire that he did put on is completely flat. I put air in the tire to try to make it to my dads and I hear the hissing this tire is letting out. This man new that my tire had a hole and still put it on my truck. I understand that I had brought him bad tires but the fact that he knew that the one he put on had a hole is unspeakable. What is wrong with today's society. No matter what I was going to pay this man for his time. No need to make it where I struggle and have to go back to a tire shop. I would rather my bald tires then ever going back here. I was referred by Simi lube across the street after getting an oil change. My tire was low. I pulled up and had a used tire put on for my Toyota Camry and payed $35, not a bad price it was in good condition. Sal was the gentleman that helped me and boy was he awesome. He pointed out my broken bolts holding my tire on Dangerous thank god he spotted that. I was on lunch so I left my car for Sal to fix my bolts. In addition to fixing my bolts he also fixed my broken light and pointed out a couple of other things I needed to fix. I really appreciate his time and the extra customer service. I drive to Simi from LA everyday! So it's important my car runs smoothly. It's too bad this place has bad reviews I really had a great experience and yes I'm a girl but I can work on a car with the best of them and would have caught on if I was being over charged. Ya, this place is a joke, I've been here before lookin for used tires, and I buy used tires often for my drift car and the "mexi's" here charge way too much for used tires, 50$ a tire minimum for shitty ass tires and theyll try to sell you ones with nails and screws in them. Last time I was here I found a set of 2 bfG gforces in the size I needed and he told me 100$ for both tires used with about 30% tread and I laughed at him and sed I'd give him 50$ and the lowest he wud go is 80 and so I looked over the tires and found 3 screws in them, 2 on one and 1 on the other, he was standing right next to me so he saw the screws also and I said "so ur trying to sell me tires with 3 punctures in them?" and he jus acted like an idiot and still wudnt take 50$ for them even tho I wudnt have even given him that much for those pieces of shit.
