    Birria tacos

Solid Mexican fast casual restaurant. Pros: 1) They are quick. 2) If you come here, get their Birria tacos. I ate Birria tacos many spot, this places doesn't disappoint. 3) The prices are very reasonable. 4) Glad there is a fast casual Mexican spot at TCNJ. Cons: *The main con is, there is a little language barrier with some reps. So, please be slow and clear, or else, they will say "no" (even if they have the item) or not give you the right order. Overall, it is not a big deal, just ask for someone who speaks English. They will accommodate.

Salad bowl with chicken and beans and lime and salsas and sour cream and cheese.

We ordered 3 chicken salad bowls and a chicken quesadilla. The bill was about $45. You have options for including rice and black beans or pinto beans. We didn't ask about veggies nor did we see any. We chose chicken and various salsas like pico a hot salsa salsa verde and a cilantro onion mix. There is also a choice of mozzarella. Grated cheese and maybe a parm. Jalapeños. Guacamole is extra pineapple pieces sour cream and more. The portions are relatively small and the chicken freshly heated was rubbery and hard and most pieces were baby size bites. The quesadilla had a nice char flavor and came with rice and beans and salsa. The staff was friendly. Many upcharge posted in glass of serving area. Bags of chips are extra now too. Portions small.

    Chicken salad.

We love coming here and are regulars. Love their tacos, burritos, salads and bowls! Best guac too

Not a fan of the Chipotle approach to Mexican food, I was disappointed that the new Mariachi Grill in Campus Town on the edge of The College of New Jersey adopted that process. Their shops on Parkway in Ewing and Quakerbridge in Hamilton are the traditional full kitchen variety, and are pretty good representations of Mexican American cuisine. Although the "pick your ingredients" can be considered the way to customize a taco or burrito, to me it seems more the way to limit the menu to only a few possibilities, while preparation of the elements in advance means you often secure overcooked and dried out parts. A look at all the choices on the steam table behind the counter, offered proof of theory. The steak, chicken and ground beef all seemed desiccated and lacking energy. They were out of the al pastor (roast pork & pineapple), and the only remaining juicy-looking choice was the carnitas (BBQ pork). I went with that in their duo taco plate (rice, black beans, lettuce, tomato, lime, radish & pico). The double tortilla soft shell kept its poise throughout the meal, with minimal leakage. They were tasty and well spiced. The rice and beans were forgettable. At just under $9 with drink, the price was fair. I left belly full. Still, I prefer other Mexican dishes like chili rellenos and flautas, not to mention fresh fish and fruit drinks, much more than tacos, burritos and quesadillas, which all have the same contents with different packaging. Such variety was not on the menu there, although they are in their other tiendas. If all you desire is basic Mexifast food, you can be satisfied at Mariachi. But, Mexican cuisine is far more diverse and delicious than portrayed here, and deserving of exploration and ravishing. There are plenty of those places across Trenton, Hamilton and Hightstown. Once seduced by those amazing spicy senoritas, it is difficult to really enjoy the Chipotle approach to South of the Border cooking.

From the outermost swirl all the way to the center, every single bite was sweet gooey perfection. I don't know what he paid, but I can tell you it is 100% worth it.

I came…read moreacross a post on social media about a magazine naming The Gingered Peach as one of the best bakeries in New Jersey. From there, I gave them a follow on social media and checked out their website. Sadly, the bakery is about an hour from where I live, but it's about 15-20 minutes from where I work. However, they usually close at 3 pm, which means I would be scrambling in right before they close or I may not make it at all. Bummer! Needless to say, I saw they do dessert orders for the holidays, so that was my golden opportunity! For Thanksgiving, I ordered a purple sweet potato pie and a banana pudding pie. I got to select the date that I'd be picking up my pies, which was on a day that I had to go to the office. During the week leading up to Thanksgiving, the bakery was closed for regular operations. They were only open for dessert pick ups. The pies were a hit! The banana pudding pie was everyone's favorite. Needless to say, for Christmas, a larger order was placed for banana pudding pie, salted honey pie, apple crumb pie, and mashed potato rolls. Now for Christmas, the bakery was open for regular operations and you had to pick up your pre-ordered desserts at their sister business, Melba Ice Creamery, around the corner. Because it was Christmas Eve and I already had a slew of sweets pre-ordered, I decided not to try to go to the bakery that day. Nevertheless, the goods were a hit again! The only downside is that the crust on the banana pudding pie was a little different the second time around, making it tougher to slice and get out of the pan. It was still tasty though! Would I return? Absolutely!

I'd like to share how pleased I am about this tea cafe. I came here on a cold and snowy Saturday,…read morebecause my friends live nearby and I was going over their house to hang out, but I wanted to get tea first. The employees behind the counter were cheerful, and they say a phrase in Japanese that means, "welcome," which is a nice touch. The first thing I noticed in the shop was the matcha mill. They actually have two matcha mills running the entire time, and the employee later told me that it's milling and grinding the matcha to get the freshest matcha possible. Grinding and serving the matcha from its fresh ground state really makes their matcha stand out, and I could definitely tell. I was thinking about getting a cold matcha anyway because I didn't want to microwave it later, but they informed me that their machine for hot matcha wasn't working. That is not the best situation for people who wanted a hot drink, especially since it was so cold and damp outside, but I was really interested in a cold drink anyway, so it didn't really bother me. I got their red bean matcha with oat milk, and I was so happy when I drank it because it tasted like actual real matcha. I've gotten matcha at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts and I haven't expected anything phenomenal, but I've also gotten matcha at matcha shops and the matcha just doesn't taste right because it was too sweet. This matcha, however, tasted exactly the way matcha should taste! I really, really enjoyed my drink so much, and they serve it unsweetened. I didn't even need to put sweetener in it, but I did put a tiny bit of simple syrup. All I have to say is definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed. Their matcha is amazing, and I am going back to this place every time I visit my friend's house.

You even get to see the matcha being freshly milled so you know you're getting some good quality stuff! During each of my visits, I ended up getting whatever monthly/seasonal special they were offering. The first time, I got the ube matcha latte and during my last visit, I got the peppermint chocolate latte. One thing I didn't realize during my first visit is that they give you your drink without the lid so you can sweeten it as you wish. They have syrup that you can pump into your drink. Needless to say, my drink was unsweetened the first time, but still tasty and good enough for me to return. By my second visit, I figured this out as I watched someone else add the syrup to their drink. I literally added a couple of drops because I actually enjoy it when it's not overly sweet. Also, I LOVE that they make all their drinks with oat milk so I don't have to ask for the substitution like I do at most other places. During each visit, I have always received friendly service. I would definitely return!
